Once she was gone, Edrey picked out one tablet from the ones he had carried and swallowed it with the glass of water that was on the table before beginning with his unfinished work.
The day ended faster than Edrey anticipated. It was half-past one by the time he finished all the paperwork that he had on his desk. Although being the student council president, as he was, took up quite some time, for a lawyer in training such as himself, it was a plus.
A lot of the documents he dealt with as the president came in handy when he was studying for his exams.
He had just sent the last document to Ayesha's file when the watch embedded in his wrist began to beep. He the clear tablet on the table and pressed on the skin on his wrist. He accepted the call, and immediately two people appeared on the transparent screen that popped up in front of him.
"So you finally know how to pick up our calls, do you?" A female voice spoke up, which caused Edrey's lips to pull up in a smile.
"I'm sorry." He swung his chair around, picked up his brown coat, and stood. "You know how it is."
The female clicked her tongue before the male spoke up. "Shouldn't you be resting? It's only been four days."
"I'm fine, I'm fine. I didn't have a lecture today, and I'm not planning on going to the laboratory. I mainly came to meet with the both of you." Edrey's voice was deep, seemingly causing the room to vibrate as he laughed.
"Aha. So that's it." Nawilla bobbed his head up and down. "Then, shall we wait for you at the front gates. We'll go there together."
Edrey nodded in agreement. "Alright. I'll meet the two of you there."
Just after he had disconnected the call, Ayesha walked into his office. There was a small frown on her face, "You seriously rejected their application." She asked as she swiped up her own transparent tablet.
"If anything happens to them while they join the army, it will be held on me who accepted their application." He swung the brown jacket over his shoulders, "If they want it to be accepted, tell them to take it directly to the director. We aren't a military school, you know."
Ayesha bobbed her head, "I will have someone relay your words."
"Then that's good."
Ayesha cocked her head, "Are you going somewhere?" she watched as he fixed his hair.
"Mhm." Edrey bobbed his head up and down. "I already finished the backlogged work, I'll come in tomorrow to finish up on the little that's left. I have people I'm meeting up with."
Ayesha walked up to his table and picked up the jug and glass from it, "When you say people, you mean Nawilla and Angelo?"
"Mhm." Edrey bobbed his head up and down.
"Ah. I wish I could join you, but they probably won't want that." She groaned as she placed the cold glass on her cheek.
"You're probably right." Edrey chuckled.
What she meant was simple. The three alphas, Angelo Malika, Nawilla Vorster, and Edrey White were the three most popular alphas in their academy. Apart from Edrey who would occasionally interact with other students, the other two alphas did not like interacting with other students in the slightest. Angelo, the only female in the group, was sought out by even male omegas who wanted to mate with her.
She was a tall female, who stood at the same height as Edrey. Her hair was a dark pink which she had cropped up to her shoulders. Although she was an alpha, she loved to dress up prettily, and was doing a fashion course to the side of her main course, to the distaste of her parents.
Nawilla on the other hand was a male alpha. He was a bit taller than Edrey was, and had silver-gray hair which he had shaved close to his head. There was an eternal frown that was plastered on his face, and he disliked it when any omegas came close to him. This was one of the main things that everyone in the academy knew.
Edrey was the friendliest out of the three. However, despite that, he still refused to get close to any of the omegas who practically threw themselves at him.
Although none of them knew, it was because he was the only omega in the group. The only ones to know of his secret were the two alphas who he considered his closest friends. Even then, although they knew of the relationship between him and Gorover, they had no idea that he had not had his heat for quite some time.
The main reason that the three of them were so insanely popular ultimately boiled down to their families. While Edrey and Angelo came from a popular family of martial artists, Nawilla came from a family of mecha engineers.
He was basically the most popular one out of the three of them since the mecha industry had the most money and connections. However, the two of them did not lose to him either.
Their families were rich enough to feed three generations without any of them having to work for the rest of their lives. In addition, it was families like their own which were expected to produce people who could control mechas. Therefore, it would be impossible for their families to not have any use.
The three of them met at the gates of the academy. As if they had decided on it before, they all had their hover-cycles with them. "I don't know where the café you guys mentioned is, thanks for waiting up." Edrey was the first to speak up.
"Then, shall we go?" Angelo cocked her head as she popped a bubble from the gum she was chewing. Her pink hair was pinned on the side by a blue hairpin that had a small gem at the top. The white shirt she wore was sleeveless and only fell above her belly button. There was a black jacket she had thrown above her clothes, but that did not fail to hide the belly button piercing that gleamed in the light of the three suns.
"After you." Edrey gestured at the gates of the academy.
"Heh." Nawilla snickered. "If you two don't hurry up, we might miss the shift of the love of my life." He ran a hand through his short locks. He was dressed in a black shirt and a pair of black pants. Resting upon his nose was a pair of glasses that covered the dark gray eyes underneath. Once Edrey had stopped in front of them, he had pushed his glasses up his head, exposing the gray eyes underneath. Beneath his eyes were dark circles that adorned the top of his cheeks.
This was the effect of the late nights he had stayed up while helping his family in the fixing and creating of mechas. In fact, many of his family members had the same eye bags underneath their eyes.
"The love of his life?" Edrey cocked his head to ask Angelo.
"Your guess is as good as mine. At first, I thought that it was a ghost that had possessed his body." Angelo shrugged. "He's been at the café more than I have, so he knows most of the workers there." She revved the engine of her hover-cycle. She pressed on the hair clip which rested on the side of her head, and it extended around her head to form a helmet. "He might be playing around with another beta male like he usually does." She raised her shoulders in a shrug.
Nawilla on the other hand picked up the helmet he had hung on the side of his car and swooshed it over his head, "I am definitely not playing around. When you meet him, you will see what I mean. He is truly beautiful." This was something that very few people knew since the trio kept it well hidden. Nawilla, the most eligible alpha out of the three of them, had no interest in omegas, whether male or female. "Then shall we go?" he shot them a smile from beneath his helmet.
With Nawilla in the lead and his dangerous driving skills, the usually twenty-minute drive took fifteen. They parked their hover-cycles in the parking area.
The three alpha males attracted attention wherever they went, so when they all arrived in the café, all eyes turned to them. Nawilla sauntered up to the counter, a flirty smile on his face. Even though they were walking behind him, the other two still saw the smile that was on his face.
Without a doubt, the number of times that they had seen the male smile on someone else other than the two of them could be counted on one hand. In addition, the number of times he had smiled at something other than them was when he had managed to discover something new about mechas.
