IGNORING

Edrey woke up with a start. His head was pounding, and he felt like upchucking the contents of his stomach. He rubbed his head, "Ugh. Why am I having these dreams right now?" he groaned as he pulled himself up.

Light filtered into his room, and there was a frown on his face as he raised his hand to cover his eyes from the blinding sun. Silently, he picked up the jacket he had discarded on the floor the night before and threw it into the laundry chute.

After that, he made himself a light breakfast in his small kitchenette. His body felt feverish, and his vision was slightly blurry, so it took him some time to make the breakfast. After he was done, he took off his clothes and took a cold shower.

However, his body was still hot. It was then that he realized what was happening to him. It had been a whole twenty months since he had his last estrus. Since the estrus happened four times a year, it meant that he had missed his estrus six times.

This was something that he dared not tell his parents. An irregular estrus was something that was unheard of. However, the school doctor had informed him that if he had been getting alpha pheromones into his system since his first estrus, it was possible that the fact that he had not been getting any alpha pheromones for a few months had caused his estrus to become irregular. This was not unheard of, but that did not mean that it was normal.

This information, Edrey had promised himself not to tell his parents. They had no idea that he and Gorover were in that relationship in the first place. Not to mention Gorover had up and left the house one day, leaving him while he was still worried about being pregnant.

Edrey sighed and took his heat suppressant tablets before jumping back into his bed. Now that he had taken his tablets, he would be assured of his heat staying low. The last thing he wanted was to hurt himself due to the fact that he was unable to get pleasure.

He lay on the bed, listening to the clear and even breathing that was his own. As he lay there, his mind flitted to Gorover. He flipped on his watch to look if he had any unread messages from the alpha male.

At least, he wanted to know if all his mother had said the previous night was a lie. If it wasn't a lie, and he did have a wife who was close to eight months pregnant, then what about him? This whole time, had he been a side character in the relationship of other people? Why had Gorover even lied to him, stringing him along?

Did he get off of that?

Edrey shook his head, realizing that he was overthinking again. If anything, it was Edrey's fault for not realizing that Gorover had been acting weird the past few months.

Since the Alpha male had insisted on keeping their relationship a secret, Edrey had not even told many of his close friends of the relationship that they had with each other.

Just then, there was a knock on his door. Edrey weakly glanced at the door. The suppressants he had taken were working, but in exchange, they had drained him of his strength. He managed to call out, "Who is it?"

"It's me. Can I come in?" He heard that voice that used to make his heart leap to his throat.

Correction.

The voice that still made his heart leap to his throat.

Edrey cursed his weak spirit and rolled himself into a cocoon using his covers. "Go away. I don't want to see you right now."

"It's just that aunt told me to ask if there is anything you need."

"I told you to go away."

"Edrey…" The alpha sounded helpless on the other side. However, Edrey steeled his resolve and did not allow his door to be opened from the outside.

Anyway, he was in heat. It was allowed if he did not want someone to get into his room during such a period. His mother was really stupid sometimes. Why would she allow an alpha male to get into his room when she knew he was in heat?

Of course, it was because she viewed them as nothing more than siblings.

Gorover on the other side of the door clenched his hands into fists, but Edrey did not answer him. "Alright, Edrey. I'm going now." He stood at the door for a few more seconds, waiting to see if Edrey really wasn't going to open the door.

When he realized that Edrey was really ignoring him, he sighed and walked down the stairs to the dining area where the other family members were. Edrey lay in the bed a little longer and allowed the tears to stream down the side of his face. As he cried, he drifted off to sleep once more.

Edrey got out of his bed a few hours later. His head was fuzzy, and his stomach growled. With a low groan, he slowly got off of his bed. He walked to the small kitchen that was joined by his room. He threw together something to eat and ate it while standing in the kitchenette. After he was done, he plopped his dirty dishes into the dishwashing machine.

After taking care of his hunger, he tapped on the skin on his wrist, activating the wristwatch that was embedded into his skin. Almost immediately, it began to beep with unread messages. He tapped twice on his wrist, and an almost transparent screen appeared before him. He looked over the messages and sighed lightly before swiping up his messages screen.

He pressed on the first message that was on the screen absentmindedly as he walked back into the room. The voice message that had been sent to him immediately began to play. 'Drey, hi! It's Ayesha from the student council. Are you alright? You haven't attended the council for the past three days and everyone is worried. Can you call back after you've gotten this?'

Edrey stared at the transparent screen for a few minutes in shock. He had been asleep for three whole days?!

Was it because of the heat medicine? It was the first time he had gotten his heat for a while after all. He walked to his drawer as he listened to the other voice messages. 'Edrey, hi. It's Gorover. Don't lock yourself up in your room, come out so that we can talk."

Edrey paused upon hearing the voice message. He had been out of it for three whole days thanks to his heat, so he did not know if Gorover had come to see him again. His head throbbed once Gorover's voice died away. He crouched down taking in deep slow breaths. The next message began to play.

"Edreeey. It has been four days since I last saw you. You need to come out so that we can go and check out that new coffee place that just popped up near the university. Well, not that it popped up popped up, but it's become real popular of late. Ensure you caaaaall meeeeee! We'll go with Nawilla too."

The message was short, but the voice immediately calmed Edrey down. It was his closest friend. He pushed himself up from his crouched position and walked the remaining distance to his drawers. The voice messages continued to play, as he picked up the tablets that had been shoved into the bottom of his drawer.

He popped one of the pills out and swallowed it without water, shoving it down his throat. It was painful, but the pain made him feel as if he was still alive. After the voice messages finished playing, he quickly skimmed through the other messages that were written. When this was done, he answered those he deemed most important before going to his bathroom to take a shower.

His head slightly throbbed as he stood underneath the hot water, scrubbing his oily hair. As he bathed, he looked at his reflection in the bathroom mirror. He was tall, standing just slightly above six feet. His hair was a silver-white color that was curly. The front part fell over his forehead when wet, with the ends sticking just above his eyes. His eyes, much unlike his hair, were a pale red that almost seemed bloody when in the dark.

This was a trait that was prominent in the alphas of their family. His father, younger brother, and older brother all had the same traits. He was not an exception, however, he had awoken as an omega instead of an alpha.

Although he wasn't ripped, he could clearly tell that he looked nothing like a normal omega would. He was not tiny, and he towered over many betas as well. He disliked keeping his hair long as other omegas did. It was not because he did not have the instinct of wanting to look beautiful. Rather, when his hair got too long, it got in the way of his work.

He ran a hand through his hair, as he contemplated whether he should trim it down or not.

Without much else to do, he pulled on a pair of loose pants and a t-shirt before opening his door to walk out of his room.

Standing just outside his room was Gorover. His dark blue hair had been styled up, revealing his forehead. He had his back leaning on the wall as he swiped on a transparent screen that was floating in the air a few centimeters above his wrist.
