ENTICING PHEROMONES

Instinctively, the younger male moved his body forward, feeling comfort from the alpha male's hormones. It was then that he realized the state of his body.

Before a person differentiated, they would not be able to smell the pheromones of anyone else. Therefore, the fact that he was able to smell the pheromones from Gorover meant that he had differentiated. The fact that the scent of his pheromones was enticing, could only mean that he had either differentiated into a beta or omega.

However, the scent was too strong for him to say that he had differentiated into a beta male. Most beta males did not get affected strongly by the pheromones of an alpha. This was because they did not have the ability to reproduce like an omega male or female did.

This information quickly piled into Edrey's mind, and he felt bile rising up his throat. He looked up at Gorover and asked, "You didn't mark me, did you?"

Gorover raised his free arm and scratched his cheek with his finger. "You did, didn't you?" Edrey gasped. He placed his head in his arms, feeling like he had lost the strength in his body.

"It's not a permanent mark." Gorover immediately defended. "I had to temporarily mark you so that you would calm down. Your parents are coming in a few hours. If you hadn't calmed down, it would be tragic."

Edrey immediately grasped the words 'a few hours' and his head shot up. "How long have I been out of it?"

"Three days. I…"

Edrey raised his hand, "I will go to my room now." He swiped the pill from the tray and drank it without water. It took some strength for him to manage to stand. Gorover held his hand, helping him stand.

However, Edrey smacked his hand aside. "Don't touch me for now. I need to be alone. If mom and dad ask for me, tell them I am having a discussion to prepare for a presentation that's due tomorrow."

"But…" Gorover began once more.

"The issue with us, we shall discuss it when my heat is completely through. Don't come looking for me. The mark is temporary, right? I will look for you when it stabilizes."

When an omega was marked, whether temporary or permanent, they would feel the need to be close to the alpha who marked them. This was to ensure that the feelings they had for each other would be strengthened. However, Edrey did not have these feelings for Gorover.

At most, he wanted to get far away from the alpha. Heat or not, he had no right to mark and mate him while he was unconscious.

Once Edrey washed clean, he ensured he went to his parent's room and took his mother's pheromone blocker. He doused himself in the bottle, ensuring that they did not notice the alpha pheromones that were pouring out of his system.

As he walked out of the room, he rubbed the back of his neck, feeling the teeth marks that were prominent on his neck. That is where Gorover had marked him. He tsked, and went back to his room, searching for a patch to cover the back of his neck.

If his parents saw the mark, they would immediately understand what had happened.

At that moment, however, Edrey was angry at Gorover.

Gorover's parents had died when he was younger. Since their parents were close friends, his parents somewhat adopted him into the family. When he was younger, Edrey did not feel anything for him since they had a five-year age gap. In fact, the man got along with Edrey's older brother more than he got along with him.

The times they interacted could be counted on one hand. This had changed when their interactions had increased when Gorover had agreed to be his tutor in the subjects he was weak in. Although they spoke a lot now, Edrey still had no such feelings for Gorover. After all, they had grown up together.

As Edrey walked out of his room, he met Gorover who was standing outside. Gorover was pacing outside his room, holding a small brown bag in his hand. He did not even notice when Edrey walked out of the room.

Edrey, in a sudden burst of his adult genes, decided to walk around him. His parents were going to be home soon, he did not want to be entangled with Gorover during that time. As he was going to walk around, Gorover noticed him.

He looked up and cleared his throat. "Edrey."

"Hm?" Edrey froze in his tracks, and turned to look at Gorover, "Is something wrong?"

"I think we should talk about what happened."

Edrey felt the alpha pheromones around Gorover surrounding him. He took a step back, feeling weak in his knees. "We don't have to talk about what happened. In a few days, the temporary mark will disappear, and we won't have to be entangled with each other any further."

Gorover was a little surprised by the amount of 'adultness' that Edrey was showing. However, this was not the reason that he was here. "I-…" he cleared his throat. "I don't want it to end." He finally blurted.

Edrey's eyebrows raised up slightly, "What do you mean?"

Gorover scratched his cheek, "I mean that I have always cared for you."

Edrey laughed. "I also care for you Gorover. You are like an elder brother to me."

"I do not care for you in that manner. I lo…"

"Edrey! Edrey! Mom and dad are home!" Edrey's youngest sibling, Teremie, popped out of nowhere. He was holding a piece of candy in his left hand, and a small fidget spinner in his right hand. He carefully moved the candy to his right hand and pulled on Edrey's hand with his freed hand.

"Terrie." Edrey chuckled helplessly. "Don't run like that. You might fall." As he was being pulled away, he turned to look at Gorover, "Meet me in the library at night. We shall finish our discussion then."

After saying that, he accepted to be pulled away by Teremie.
