A LITTLE SAD

Outside, the sun shone on his face, and he raised his head up, allowing the white locks on his head to get a slight shimmer. Then, he opened his red eyes, looking down at the maid and driver standing at the bottom of the stairs.

The maid was short and had light blue hair that was shorn to her shoulders. The driver was much taller but was also obviously a beta. His skin was dark, and his hair was shaved close to his head. "Master Edrey." The driver bowed his body at the waist as Edrey walked down the stairs. "Do you plan on driving to the school yourself, or shall I drive you?"

At the bottom of the stairs, next to the stair rail, Edrey pressed a button, allowing his fingerprint to get scanned. Out of the handle, a clear metallic box rose up. Pressing another button, the box opened. Three rows of keys sat inside the box. He picked two up, and assessed them both, before tossing the smaller key to the driver.

"Get this for me."

The driver stared at the key for a few seconds.

"Now." Edrey had to repeat.

The driver nodded and hurried away. From the inner pocket of his dark brown coat, Edrey pulled out a pair of sunglasses which he pushed up the bridge of his nose. He turned to the maid. "I shall not require assistance today." He gave her a small smile. It was quite obvious that she was a new maid, for her face flushed after he smiled at her.

In the eyes of all the people around them, he was the perfect second-born alpha son. He helped his father in managing the family business, worked both as a scientist part-time, handled projects concerning the discovery of new heat suppressors, and was studying law. In addition to that, he was adept at managing and controlling mechas. This was why he was expected to take over the military after his father retired.

In addition, he refused to date any of the omegas who wanted an alpha like him. Even when they tried to get him to submit with their pheromones, it still did not work. Well, that was mainly because he was an omega just like they were.

"If Gorover comes home today, have my mother call me."

"Yes, young master." The maid bobbed her head just as the driver came back with the vehicle that Edrey wanted.

He took the keys from the driver and threw his leg over the hover-cycle. The driver handed him a plastic headband which he placed over his white locks. He pressed a seemingly invisible button that was at the side of the headband, which made the front and back extend. A clear plastic fell over his eyes. He pushed it back into the helmet and looked at the maid and driver with a smile on his face. "Well, I'm off."

Without waiting for them to answer him, he had driven off, leaving behind a cloud of dust.

Once he was gone, the maid fake fainted into the driver's arms. "Zazel, the young master smiled at me."

"Hey, he smiled at both of us!" Zazel retorted. He could understand why many young omegas tried all that they could to trap their master, even going as far as to use their pheromones.

"Although he is an alpha, do you think he can go for a beta like me?" the maid looked up with shining eyes.

"Heh." Zazel scoffed, "All we are expected to do is take care of the young master. You should be content with that Dari." He pushed her weight off of himself. "I have to prepare for the youngest master's leaving for school. If I don't, he'll be late." Zazel shook his head before walking away.

Dari stood at the bottom of the stairs for a while longer, looking in the direction that the young master had driven off. "He looked a little sad today though." She spoke in a low voice that no one else heard.

On his hover-bicycle, it took him just ten minutes to drive up to the gates of the academy he was studying in. The large building hovered a few meters off of the ground, and it towered over the students who were driving into it through their different modes of transportation.

Edrey stopped his cycle in front of the school gates and pressed on his wrist. A transparent screen, only visible to his eyes, appeared in front of him, just above his outstretched wrist. With a few clicks of the transparent screen on the air, he had typed a message to Ayesha. Within a few minutes, a lady was running up to his hovercycle.

She stopped once she had gotten close enough to him. Her breath came out in short deep pants, and she raised her hand up, "Just give me a second to catch my breath." Her pale green hair was long and fell down her back in straight waves. She was one of the few beta friends that Edrey could say he confided in.

That was despite the fact that she was three years his senior.

"You should exercise more or else you won't be able to survive out in the real world." He silently mocked her. Once she had caught her breath, she smacked him in the arm.

"Don't think that everyone is like you, you all-rounded alpha male." Then, she cradled her arm as she winced in pain.

"Don't tell me you hurt your arm hitting me." Edrey snickered.

"Oh shut up. Do you know how much paperwork is waiting for you back in the council office? How can you go out of the radar just like that?' Ayesha immediately began to complain as she climbed onto the back of his hover-cycle.

"Well, as you can see, I am not dead yet."

"You will be after you see the amount of work waiting for you." She took the headband that was handed over to her and placed it atop her locks. After pressing the invisible button, the helmet extended over her head. "Next time, at least leave me the code to your drawer. That way I can access your seal and stamp anything that needs approval."

"I thought I told you the…"

"The passcode changes every week, remember." She continued to complain.

Edrey zipped his mouth shut and allowed her to complain as much as she desired.

The academy was not small in the slightest. Without a mode of transportation, it would take close to two hours to walk from one end to the other. However, it only took them fifteen minutes to drive up to the other side of the academy where the student council building was.

Once they arrived at the building, Edrey parked his hover-cycle before following Ayesha on the escalator that led up to the front doors of the building. "So, the engineering faculty and the mecha faculty have teamed up," Ayesha briefed Edrey as the moving stairs glided them into the building. "Although they have yet to send an official document, the ones with the highest marks in the faculty are planning to leave the academy and join in the fighting of the zergs. Although, they only want to do this because they were promised extra credits."

"I thought we already refused their application," Edrey complained as they reached the end of the escalator.

"We did, but that was when they applied individually. I wasn't sure what to do about it, so I placed the documents aside as well." She handed him a clear tablet. "The documents are in the folder at the top of the screen." She pointed it out.

"That's fine." He glanced at it, "I'll just reject it and send it back to them."

As he was speaking, someone had run and stopped in front of them. The two stopped what they were doing and looked up from the clear tablet.

"Ah… G-good morning, Edrey." A pretty omega male stood in front of them. He was slender, and his blonde hair was short, falling just past his shoulders even though it was tied up close to the nape of his neck.

Edrey cocked his head slightly, but still greeted him back. "Good morning. Marvey, was it?"

Upon hearing that Edrey remembered his name, the omega's lips pulled up. "Uh… I – I got you this."

Without waiting for Edrey to reply, he had shoved a bag into his hands. Edrey peeked into the bag once he was gone. It was full of medicine. Just after the omega was gone, another three came over and gave him bags as well. They were all full of different kinds of medicine.

"Why are people getting me medicine?" he turned his head to look at Ayesha.

"Well, since you did not tell me if you were alive or dead, I figured the only way you wouldn't contact me for three days straight as if you were on your death bed."

Edrey sighed as he pushed open the door to his office. "So you told everyone I was sick?"

"…"

"…"

"Maybe."

Edrey laughed. "Really. If I did die, I would ensure that you're the first who knew seeing as I would haunt you." He pulled his chair and took a seat.

Ayesha stuck her tongue out at him before fleeing out of his office.

Once she was gone, Edrey picked out one tablet from the ones he had carried and swallowed it with the glass of water that was on the table before beginning with his unfinished work.

Lol. So I wanted a literally perfect MC. This is what I got...

Yay Edrey!
