A New Challenge
Adam gently placed Lily on her bed in the dorm room, her unconscious form radiating an eerie calm after the earlier chaos.
Beside him, the new student—a petite girl with chestnut hair tied into a messy bun—watched with nervous curiosity.
Her uniform was crisp, yet her trembling hands betrayed her unease. Adam turned to her, his expression hard but not unkind.
"Take care of her," Adam instructed, his voice low and commanding. "When she wakes up, explain everything."
The girl nodded quickly, clutching her hands together to steady herself. Adam gave her one last glance, then walked toward the door, his steps firm and deliberate.
The hall outside the girls' dormitory was eerily silent.
As Adam exited, the heavy atmosphere from earlier still lingered in the air, like an invisible weight pressing against his shoulders.
Just as he reached the corridor's end, a sharp crack echoed, and a figure materialized before him.
