Chapter 39 - An Exchange of Treasures
Everything returned to normal after the incident, and when Dwight returned to his dorm, Tessa was filled with worry and asked him about what had happened.
Dwight reassured her that nothing had happened to him and that he was completely fine.
Dwight noticed that Tessa's powers were rapidly increasing, thanks to Athena's guidance.
Athena was helping her cultivate her abilities without rushing the process.
Currently, Tessa is a 5-star mage, and Athena is also teaching her close combat techniques.
Occasionally, Athena would appear on Dwight's bed and continue to annoy him, but he would push her away and tell her to focus on teaching Tessa instead of bothering him.
Two days had passed since the incident, and since Dwight had won first place, the dean rewarded him with 50,000 credits.
However, everyone knew that the dean did this to avoid angering the Sword Devil.
Dwight was satisfied with the reward, and although nothing in the exchange hall caught his attention, he still wanted to see if there were any interesting items available.
He asked Tessa to accompany him.
...........
Dwight and Tessa strolled towards the exchange hall, where they could use their credit score to obtain treasures and cultivation materials.
Both of them exuded elegance and beauty, easily attracting attention.
Dwight was easily recognized by everyone since his name was spreading due to the rumors that Sword Devil had punished the Assassin House because of him.
On the other hand, Tessa was still relatively unknown, and people assumed she was just another student at the academy.
Nirvana, the mythical beast, followed them closely, and Dwight allowed her to appear in public, as he was unafraid of trouble.
No one could guess that Nirvana was a mythical beast, as her bloodline remained locked, but her enchanting feathers caught the eye.
As Dwight and Tessa arrived at the exchange hall, many students, especially females, greeted Dwight.
The line was short, so they were quickly served.
Dwight noticed that the one in charge of the hall was a beautiful female.
When she saw Dwight, her eyes lit up, and she asked him, "Young Master Dwight, my name is Fei. What would you like to exchange? Treasure or me?"
She quickly coughed, realizing the potentially inappropriate nature of her comment as she noticed Tessa's deadly stare.
Dwight smiled at her, causing Fei to blush.
"I haven't decided yet, so I want to see what you have to offer," he replied, clarifying that he was looking for resources.
Fei nodded and handed him a device that displayed everything available for exchange in the hall.
Dwight scrolled through the options, searching for something interesting.
With 90,000 credit points at his disposal, he had a significant sum.
Even third-year students would be envious if they knew about his wealth.
Dwight came across some treasures, but they failed to catch his eye. He proceeded to the S-class section, where the best treasures were located.

Dwight continued scrolling until he found something suitable for Tessa.
He discovered a necklace priced at only 1,000 credit points, known for its ability to relieve stress and promote calmness.
Dwight didn't care much about its practical use; he simply felt that it was beautiful and would suit Tessa.
Without hesitation, he purchased it and urged Tessa to wear it immediately.
Tessa blushed, surprised by the gesture of him buying her a beautiful necklace.
However, since he had bought it for her, she didn't dare to refuse.
Many female onlookers filled with envy watched as Tessa received the necklace from Dwight, knowing how close they were and the special gift he had given her.
'How envious.'
Afterward, Dwight also bought some ingredients and cooking tools.
Fei was astounded by his choices, as she hadn't expected him to exchange his points for such items.
She wanted to advise him otherwise but knew she had no right to intervene, so she could only smile bitterly.
With 50,000 points remaining, Dwight noticed something interesting on the list.
It was a blue orb that had been found in the Demon Forest, one of the most dangerous places in the world.
Its purpose was unknown but given that even 9-star individuals couldn't destroy it, the orb was placed here and could be exchanged for 40,000 points.
Many had seen this orb before but hesitated to exchange it due to its mysterious nature.
However, Dwight recognized it from his experiences in the Mecha World.
He knew that this orb could be used by anyone and that its function was to compress a two-story house into a small orb.
It was convenient for camping or when there was no place to rest.
While there were more advanced versions available, such as mansions or larger structures, this outdated orb would still serve him well for resting purposes.
It also possessed a protective formation to prevent disturbance.
This particular item was renowned in the higher planes of the universe, and Dwight hadn't expected it to appear in this world.
'This world is not simple.'
Without hesitation, he purchased the orb.
Fei warned him that its use was still unknown, but Dwight merely smiled at her and expressed his desire to have it.
Fei had no choice but to comply and handed the orb to Dwight.
The exchange hall buzzed with excitement as Dwight's selections and bold choices garnered attention.
...............
Inside the classroom, Professor Ellen addressed the students with a serious expression.
"Your newbie protection has now expired, which means that anyone can challenge your ranks starting today. The competition is officially underway."
"All of you are currently in the bronze ranking, and the academy will allocate credit points based on your individual ranks. Remember, the higher your rank, the greater the rewards."
"For those who believe they are strong enough, you have the option to participate in the assessment and challenge students in the silver ranks. The rewards offered in the silver rank are even more enticing than those in the bronze rank."
"Keep in mind that the students in the bronze rank include those in the 2nd year and above. It's essential to understand your own limitations and put in the necessary effort to improve."
"Challenges can only be issued after class, and no one can refuse a challenge. Declining a challenge will be considered a defeat.
"However, if you have already been challenged once in a day, you are allowed to reject subsequent challenges. You can choose to face the challenger again the following day, so no one can force you into consecutive battles.
Professor Ellen's words hung in the air, emphasizing the significance of the competition and the importance of being strategic in accepting challenges.
The students absorbed the information, knowing that their paths to advancement and recognition within the academy now relied on their individual abilities and dedication.
