Chapter 32-Black Serpent
Danica swiftly left the company of the other students, her sole focus directed toward aiding Lilia.
She had already killed the assassins on her side, so she plans to bring some help.
Though they may appear as rivals on the surface, a deep respect and friendship bind them together.
Understanding that Cris, with his monstrous strength, could hold his own for a longer duration, Danica prioritized Lilia's well-being.
Cris, an unstoppable force in his own right, possessed the ability to defeat the assassins without their assistance.
His sheer power was awe-inspiring if not for his dumb head and being a simple minded person.
Within a matter of minutes, Danica's eyes beheld a scorching forest, its intense heat washing over her.
"So hot!"
Gritting her teeth and steeling her mind, she dashed towards the Lilia.
As she reached the heart of the flames, a sight that stunned her unfolded before her eyes.
Lilia stood amidst the fire, her gaze meeting Danica's with a confident smirk adorning her face.
"You are here."
The radiant armor she wore shimmered with an ethereal glow.
"Where are the assassins?"
Danica inquired; her curiosity piqued.
Lilia's reply came with a hint of pride, yet an acknowledgment of external aid.
"They have been reduced to ashes."
Lilia's victory was evident, but she understood that her triumph was because of the support she received.
"It's fortunate that you defeated them,"
Lilia remarked, realizing that Danica must have already emerged victorious as well against the assassins.
'As expected of my rival.'
She refrained from boasting, knowing well that Danica could easily match her accomplishments.
The two of them decided to join the other people in their group who were separated from them.
The other members of their team watched in awe as Danica and Lilia appeared in front of them and the aura of the 2 became more sharper.
Danica gestured for them to join the rest of the group and provided them with their current location.
They nodded in understanding, recognizing their own limitations.
Upon entering the academy, they had once been filled with a sense of pride, considering themselves prodigies.
However, in comparison to Danica and Lilia, they now realize the true extent of their abilities.
'Let's help Cris.'
With a nod of mutual understanding, Danica and Lilia hastened towards Cris's whereabouts.
Boom!
Boom!
The thunderous sound of an explosion reached their ears, indicating that Cris had unleashed his immense power, running amok.
Within a minute, they arrived at the scene, only to be greeted by a sight that left them speechless.
Three figures lay motionless on the ground, their faces contorted with anguish.
Their bodies displayed visible signs of torment, with cracked bones and disfigured visages.
Turning to the remaining members of their group who joined Cris when they separated, Danica and Lilia inquired about Cris's whereabouts.
The group revealed that Cris had chased after the leader of the assassins because he felt that he did not have enough enjoyment today.
Their words stunned Lilia and Danica and they knew that Cris was a battle maniac.
...…..
"Hah, hah!"
The man in black robes panted heavily, his breaths ragged as he glanced around, relieved to find himself alone.
Beads of sweat trickled down his forehead as he muttered to himself, "What a monster. Thankfully, I managed to escape in time, or that young man would have killed me."
Never in his wildest dreams did he anticipate that what seemed like a simple mission to subdue a group of kids would turn into a nightmarish ordeal.
Within the organization, he had earned a reputation, reaching the formidable power of six stars.
However, the humiliation he felt now, being relentlessly pursued by a mere student, was unbearable.
"Fuck!"
That young man, with his bulky, muscular physique, resembled a ferocious beast, and his fighting style was uncanny.
Despite being a six-star assassin, the man in black robes discovered that his dagger was rendered useless against the young man's impenetrable skin.
What horrified him, even more, was the intense heat emanating from the student.
He realized that he was no match against that barbaric kid.
Desperate, the man in black robes attempted to employ his hidden assassination skills, but they proved futile.
Not even a scratch could be inflicted upon the young man's resilient body.
The student's mana seemed endless, and he appeared like a ravenous beast, eager to consume his prey.
Drawing upon the honed instincts that had saved him numerous times before, the man in black robes sensed the impending danger whenever he faced Cris.
'Fuck the informants.'
Cursing the informants who had failed to mention the presence of such formidable monsters within the group of new students.
As he was cursing in his mind, he suddenly realized something and swiftly dodged.
"Shit!"
A thunderous explosion shattered the silence as a tree burst into fragments, reducing the man's hiding spot to mere dust.
Cris, appearing unscathed, approached with a triumphant laugh, taunting, "Haha, there you are. Your scent couldn't escape me."
Cris reveled in the overwhelming power coursing through his veins, an indescribable feeling of strength.
Along his journey, he encountered various monsters, killing them effortlessly with a single punch.
His ranking among the students was rapidly catching up to Arthur, but such considerations were insignificant compared to his relentless pursuit of the assassins' leader.
The other party tried to hurt his friends so he cannot forgive him. Even though he is a simple-minded person, he cherishes his friends, and he will do anything to get his revenge.
As a Barbarian, his senses are stronger than ordinary human and the enhanced senses helped them to hunt for their prey in the jungle.
Having marked the man's scent, tracking him became effortless for Cris.
Having grown up amidst the wilds and undergone rigorous training since his youth, Cris possessed remarkable tracking skills.
His senses were finely attuned, his nose sharp, and his vision keen, especially in the darkness of night.
The reputation of his barbarian tribe preceded them, with rumors circulating that they were descendants of the Titan Clan and were known for their savage strength.
As noon approached, the sun soared high in the sky, casting a golden glow upon Cris.
..........
Cris locked eyes with the leader of the assassins, his expression void of words as he lunged at him with ferocity.
'Die already!!'
Boom!
His fist connected with the assassin's head, but the nimble foe swiftly evaded the attack.
The assassin displayed remarkable proficiency, his speed surpassing that of Cris.
However, Cris's raw strength was undeniably intimidating, preventing the assassin from finding the opportune moment to launch a counterattack.
Continuously evading Cris's relentless barrage of punches, even a seasoned six-star assassin couldn't help but grow tired and weary.
He is used to dispatch enemies with ease, the assassin typically had an escape plan if one attempt failed.
However, against Cris, he found himself lacking such an opportunity as if the relentless student possessed an uncanny ability to track his every move, even when hiding.
Boom!
The assassin witnessed Cris's attack, only to be sent hurtling through the air, coughing up blood upon impact.
Bewildered, he wondered, "What happened?"
He had believed he could dodge Cris's punch, but to his astonishment, he saw Cris gripping a golden axe emitting an aura of justice and undeniable power.
"What kind of treasure is that?" he pondered, feeling as though he stood before the sun itself, about to face divine punishment.
Cris, aware that he still had limited control over his power, continued to restrain his full potential, wary of losing control once more.
Yet, he sensed that, if he were to unleash his full power, he could contend even with a seven-star fighter.
A sinister smirk curved on Cris's lips as he observed the petrified assassin, frozen in place, unable to move his body.
"Begone,"
Cris commanded, his voice dripping with authority.
With a swift motion, he swung his axe towards the assassin.
Flames erupted from the weapon, a mesmerizing display of beauty and destruction.
At that moment, the leader of the assassins couldn't help but reflect upon his life and the atrocities he had committed.
'It's my end.'
Boom!
The explosive sound reverberated, echoing far and wide, causing a disturbance within a hundred-kilometer radius.
The nearby beasts trembled in fear and scattered, fleeing from the source of the deafening noise.
Danica and Lilia, who had been searching for Cris, exchanged glances upon hearing the explosion.
They were well-acquainted with Cris's affinity for explosions, which he viewed as a display of strength.
'He really likes to cause a huge commotion.'
As they arrived at the scene, they saw Cris, shirtless, gripping a massive two-meter axe, his face radiating with pride.
Cris locked eyes with Danica and Lilia, a smile gracing his lips as he proclaimed, "I knew you two could defeat them."
"Where is the leader of the assassins?"
Curious about the whereabouts of the assassin's leader, both Danica and Lilia inquired.
In response, Cris simply chuckled and informed them that the leader now resided in the underworld.
"What?"
Cris's words still shocked them even though they already had an answer in their mind seeing the battle place where Cris was standing.
As they contemplated their next course of action, a sudden chill gripped Danica and Lilia, causing them to freeze in their tracks.
Their gazes fixed upon the monstrous creature looming behind Cris—a colossal black serpent measuring ten meters in length, its yellow eyes exuding terror.
Its mere presence emitted an aura potent enough to oppress all who stood before it.
From its formidable appearance, it was evident that this forest's ruler was none other than the nine-star-level beast, the Black Serpent.
"Run!"
Danica urgently commanded, her and Lilia's instincts compelling them to flee in the face of such a strong monster.
Cris, taken aback by their sudden alarm, turned to gaze behind him and was struck with shock.
"Oh shit."
Realizing the imminent danger, he, too, broke into a panicked sprint.
"Hah!"
"Danica, Lilia, use this opportunity to escape and evacuate the other students!"
Cris called out, his voice filled with concern. Although both Danica and Lilia looked at him with worry, Cris reassured them, insisting that he would find a way to escape unscathed.
Focusing on their safety, he urged them to leave him behind.
His heart pounding, Cris dashed away in a direction separate from Danica and Lilia, understanding that he was the primary target of the monstrous serpent.
The serpent's gaze fixated upon him; its hunger evident as if a delectable feast had been laid out before it.
"Shhhs," the snake hissed, and Cris felt a surge of terror coursing through his veins.
"Whaa, Mother, help me!" he cried out desperately, but alas, there was no one around to lend assistance.
