20XX 5
Damn, I'm doing a lot of explaining. And why'd I leave the first page blank? Dunno. Guess I thought it could be like a cover page or some shit like that. Well jokes on past me, I can't draw to save my life so that's completely useless!
Well let's just get started.
What else have I yet to explain... ah, that's right!
Now that you know the back story, kind of, I'll tell you about what happened on the day of the first mist.
The day started out like any other day. I woke up at 6:30, and help mom make breakfast. Dad already left for work that morning so I went to wake up Emmi after eating. I did my morning routine and by 7:15 Emmi and I left for school. We normally leave earlier that normal so I have time to drop of Emmi and walk to school myself.
"Have fun at school, Emmi!" I had said, after she hugged me goodbye.
After I drop off Emmi, I meet up with Luci as her younger brother also attends Helther Elementary.
"So what did you get for question 6?"
"Ugh. Lena, you should know this by now!" Luci sighed, as she took out her homework for me to copy.
"Sorry, Luci, but it's so hard!"
"I swear, Lena..."
"Fine! I'll try to pay attention in class next time!"
"Good." Luci said as she started walking away.
"Hey, wait up!"
As we were walking to school, Luci kept talking on and on about the new book she was reading. It was kind of annoying, but I also enjoyed listening to her stories.
"Hey Luci, what do you thin-"
Suddenly, I had felt a strong pain in the back of my head. It felt like a headache but much worse. It felt like someone was smashing a sledgehammer into my skull.
"What were you saying Lena? I couldn't hear you. Lena? LENA!"
Luci turned around just to see me collapse on the sidewalk. She rushed to my side, saying something. I couldn't hear her. All I heard was a ringing in my head. Then, I blacked out.
Wow. I never though I would be telling a story of the worst day of my life. But then again, I never though I would be able to shoot a gun so the apple doesn't fall to far from the tree. Now for the fun part!
After I blacked out, I awoke in a hospital. The IV in my arm, pumping my with my medication. The heart monitor was beeping at a steady pace. I glanced over to the door. For a second, I though I saw a greenish mist retreating under the door, but at that moment I played it off as a trick of the light. Besides that, everything seem normal.
It was only after I sat up did I realize what was wrong. It was quiet. Normally, I would have at least 4 nurses and 2 doctors to make sure I'm okay. Oh, also, I think some of them were there experiment with me. Yeah, remember when I told you about me having lipothýmisa? Yeah, I'm the only recorded person to have had this condition. This attracted a lot of attention from the doctors and scientists, but they hadn't tried anything as far as I know.
Anyways, besides the doctors and nurses not being there, my friends would normally be arguing over some stupid shit outside the door. And my family would keep knocking on the door is see if they could come in.
But there was no one.
I ripped the IV from my arm and had rushed outside. That's the first time I saw what the mist did. Everyone, my parents, Emmi, Luci, Kathy, Clarie, and Allen were stone. The nurses and doctors turned to stone as well.
At this point I was in shock. I'm pretty sure I had started to cry, but the memory is a bit hazy.
After I got over the fact that everyone I loved was gone, I had started looking for survivors. But found no one. Everyone in the hospital were turned to stone.
It was the same when I looked outside. Everyone was stone. People walking dogs were stone. The people in the park were stone. The people driving were turned to stone. (That lead to a pretty mess of crashed cars.)
I was the only one left.
So, I started to live in the hospital. I moved all the statues to a secure room, and locked it. As much as I care for them, I don't want to be reminded of what I'd lose.
But as I was moving the last few statues, the second mist came.
