A Possible Ally

Priscilla rubbed her eyes as she walked down the road. It was still early in the morning and she had almost ripped apart her alarm for cutting her out of her perfect sleep.

It was understandable for her to want to sleep in since she had only been able to sleep very late last night. Sleeping late wasn't new to her but she had pushed herself past her limits these past days and she needed a good rest.

She could've easily smashed the stupid device and pull her blanket closer to her face but she realised that she had important businesses to take care of.

She rubbed her eyes again before pulling out her phone. The call connected and was answered on the second ring. She cleared her throat before saying, "Put me through to the main line."

The other end was silent for a while before a small voice came. "What do you need?"

"I want to see the Head."

"You know that it is unwise for you to take initiative to contact the Head unless she does so?"

"And that isn't happening anytime soon, is it?"

The other end was silent for a few seconds before a hoarse voice replied. "I'll text you an address, be there in ten."

Priscilla nodded. "I get it."

She disconnected the call and took a taxi. Her car was still at her apartment but somehow she didn't feel like driving, especially not today and not in this circumstance. She didn't have any destination in mind so she just told the driver to go straight along the road. After five minutes, a text came through notifying her of the address. She nodded and promptly informed the driver to make a turn and go to the street. She didn't ask to be dropped at the exact location but somewhere close by.

It took only twenty minutes to arrive at the location. She straightened her jacket and pulled her hair up in a ponytail. She walked into the building and gave a nod to a few people before being met by someone who walked her towards a large door.

The door opened. Beside the door were three guards with their guns fully displayed as if to warn anyone to not be stupid during the meeting. Priscilla nodded to herself before entering.

"I told you to be here in ten." A sharp voice resounded in the hall soon followed by the echoes. "It's twenty five minutes already."

Priscilla smiled despite not seeing the owner of the voice yet. "I didn't know the location you would choose would be far from my calling point."

A snort came from the hall. She looked around but still couldn't spot anyone. Footsteps echoed in the hall and came closer. "What do you need, Filler 5?"

Priscilla walked forward into the hall. The hall had chairs placed along a very long table. There was a large chair—almost king-like—at the head of the table which was meant for the Head. The hall had long thick pillars on one side and a few tainted glass windows that were finely decorated.

"I'm here because of the Zeros," Priscilla put her hands into her jacket pocket and exhaled. "I figured you'd be interested in that."

There was silence and then someone emerged from behind one of the pillars with a grim face. She looked pale—as always—with dark short hair that was cut low. She had sharp features and would be considered very pretty if not for the gruesome dark red, scar that ran down her cheek.

The scar seemed like someone had used a blunt razor to design a tree with lots of branches along her cheek. From her temple down to her jaw, the scar filled everything on that side of the face. The eye on that side was unusually black while the other was light blue and this gave her an eerie appearance.

Her presence was enough to instil fear into a lot of people. This was the Head of the Fillers—Filler 1.

The lady gave Priscilla a grave look as they now stood face to face with each other. She nodded. "I am. Always was and always will be."

Priscilla moved towards a chair at her gesture to take a seat. She too sat down and placed her hands on the table. "What do you have on them?"

Priscilla glanced from her well painted nails to her face. "You might have heard about the recent attack of the Zeros on the military's new recruit."

Filler 1 nodded, seeming uninterested in that bit of news. Priscilla went on. "You should also know that about a year ago these terrorists attacked a military team led by Colonel Richard Brad. They massacred the whole team but kept the leader, Colonel Brad."

Priscilla's gaze swept over her face and she remained motionless. "Why would they keep this Colonel alive if they didn't have plans for him? I wonder about this.

"I am now working with this Colonel and though I don't know a lot of details about it, I am sure of one thing. He wants revenge against the Zeros."

"A presumable ally…" Filler 1 muttered and stroked her temple. Her blue eye flickered a bit.

Priscilla nodded immediately. "Richard wants to destroy the Zeros and this can be to our advantage. If we help him then we might find our interests aligned."

"What do you suppose?"

Priscilla leaned forward. "What do you think? Should we form an alliance with Richard or not?"

She knew very well that unlike K9, the Fillers didn't have any qualms with the military but she also knew very well that they also preferred to stay out of the lime light. This conflicting behaviour left the question as to whether they'd be able to agree with her proposal.

During this period, she had been careful to not reveal too much about Richard except that which was necessary. She didn't want to get Richard involved in any of the madness that could ensue. She sighed and shook her head inwardly. 'I guess I care for him just a bit too much than I'm supposed to.'
