Chapter 101: Ready to Wed

Deja vu. That was the only way Ellie could describe how she felt getting ready for her wedding--again.

This time, Shelby was with her and so was Patricia. The fact that River’s mother was in her bedroom with her as her hair was being styled made Ellie feel a little bit better about how this ceremony would be different than the last one--the one that didn’t take place at all.

She had on the same dress as last time and the same shoes. The same earrings hung from her ears, the same necklace was draped around her neck, and she had on the same bracelet and garter.

The only thing different was that since the last time she’d done this, she’d killed another Alpha.

Or at least, she’d driven him to his death. When Ellie thought about the last time she was getting ready to marry River, Blade was actually there, standing with the other Alphas and guests, ready to witness the ceremony.

My, how things had changed in the last several weeks.
