The last Loud (A LitRPG story)

The specific day was December twenty-fifth, or as it was more commonly known, Christmas Eve. Up until then, nothing out of the ordinary. It was just another festive day like any other in the Loud house, or at least that's what Lincoln Loud thought. After waking up from a terrible nightmare he had after sleeping for nearly ten hours (he died and didn't even know it), the white-haired boy entered the living room. But instead of finding his family gathered around a well-decorated Christmas tree full of presents, all he found were his parents and his sisters dead on the floor of the living room, their bodies all torn apart, as if a creature with sharp claws and teeth had committed that horrendous act. After running out of the house with a look of despair and tears on his face, wishing that it was all just a dream, all he saw was his neighborhood completely destroyed, with many trees around as if he were in a forest, and those creatures, small and hideous, green in color, attacking everyone they saw in front of them. *** After living through numerous adventures, saving countless lives, and experiencing several incestuous or non-incestuous romances, the young man, now in his 50s, reached a true impasse. But when he was on the verge of death, something incredible and strange happened. Lincoln Loud not only went back in time to when he was still a child but also to a few days before all that shit happened. This time, will Lincoln, possessing his nearly 50 years of experience from the future, manage to prevent it from happening again, or will he lose his loved ones again? --------------------------- My works are also posted on the Webnovell and Royalroad websites. https://www.scribblehub.com/series/1054906/the-last-loud-a-litrpg-story/ https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/75238/am-i-falling-in-love --------------------------- If you like the story and want to see more, take a look at my Patreon, where you'll find several chapters ahead of the public. Awakening

After my slight change of mood, the only person who approached me and asked a coherent question was Clyde.

"So, we can kill them without them feeling any pain?"

Clyde asked, still a little shaken by the whole thing, but after seeing my neutral and indifferent countenance, he calmed down a little.

As soon as I heard that, I couldn't contain my excitement that someone had finally asked a rational question.

"Finally, a decent question!"

I muttered to myself, feeling grateful for this approach and pausing briefly before continuing.

"In answer to your question, I suggest you think about this possibility: since they are irrational creatures, would they take pity on you?"

After I said that, both Clyde, who had asked me the question, and our other friends were thoughtful and silent for a moment. The silence was broken by Clyde, who stood up and walked slowly towards one of the goblins, who was constantly trying to break free from the ropes.

"I just have to kill him, don't I?"

Clyde asked, turning to me.

This time, instead of answering, I just nodded.

Clyde then bent down and picked up the dagger, his hands still trembling. After swallowing dryly, he plunged the dagger he had picked up from the ground into the goblin's head.

However, because the goblin hadn't died in the attack, Clyde was startled and backed away a little.

Realizing this, I gave a little sigh of resignation and approached the goblin. With one swift movement, I took my sword out of my inventory and chopped off his head. However, to my disappointment, the goblin disappeared without dropping anything.

"See how it's done?"

I asked, keeping a neutral look on my face as I stared at them. They didn't answer me out of fear, they just nodded.

"Did you hear something as soon as you hit him?"

I asked, facing Clyde, only this time with a serious face.

"Yes, I heard a sort of bell echoing in my mind."

Clyde replied, looking at me.

By saying those words, Clyde ended up instigating the interest of the others.

"Good! So, you've managed to wake them up."

"But wait a minute, he didn't kill the goblin, I did. So how did he manage to awaken?"

I asked myself, with my thoughts elsewhere.

(Could it be that now you no longer have to kill the monster completely in order to awaken? Or does inflicting significant damage already count as a requirement?)

I wondered, as I brought my hand to my chin, lost in thought.

"Interesting..."

I murmured, with a glint of understanding beginning to appear in my eyes.

While I was lost in thought, with a thousand and one questions on my mind, Clyde called out to me again. Only this time, he approached me and, with his hand on my shoulder, shook me slightly.

"What do I do now?"

Clyde asked, looking at me with a confused face as he waited for my guidance.

"First, say 'Open status'."

I ordered, with my arms crossed, as I stared at him with a serious look on my face.

Clyde, understanding my orders, followed them as instructed.

"Open status."

After Clyde said those words, I could see a small smile of excitement on his face.

"Now what?"

Clyde asked, with a smile on his face, unable to hide his excitement at what he was seeing before his eyes.

"Do you see the word 'Classes' written on it?"

Clyde didn't answer my question, but nodded, indicating that he had understood what I had said.

"Well, now press it and tell me what options you see."

As soon as I gave him that order, Clyde began to make a movement with his hand, as if he were fiddling with something. However, that simple gesture was enough to make the others curious, since they could see him fiddling with something invisible, which probably only he could see.

After pressing the option I had indicated, Clyde turned to me and described what he was seeing on his status screen.

"Lincoln, I pressed the option you sent me, but for some reason the screen disappeared. Now another one has appeared, a little smaller, with a robotic voice that I don't understand at all and text written on it. Have I done something wrong?"

Clyde asked, looking worried as he stared at me.

"What's written on this new screen?"

I asked with a neutral face, also staring at him.

Clyde then turned to his screen once more and reported what was written there.

"The voice that's echoing in my mind keeps repeating this phrase: 'I'd like to confirm and hanc optionem.' What does that mean?"

After hearing that, I didn't know whether to be angry at such stupidity or sad.

Letting out a sigh of disbelief at the stupid question my friend had just asked, I said...

"Dude, it's just asking you if you want to confirm your action, only in Latin."

After that, Clyde confirmed his choice and turned to me with another smile on his face.

"Now, Lincoln has appeared."

Clyde commented, with a smile on his face.

(Bear with me.)

I thought to myself, lightly slapping my forehead, still in disbelief at such a lack of intelligence.

After letting out another sigh, I pulled myself together and, with a neutral countenance, faced Clyde once more.

"Now what do you see?"

As soon as Clyde realized that the conversation was going the other way, he too pulled himself together and answered my question.

"For me, these options appeared: 'Squire', 'Spy', 'Cook' and 'Student'."

Clyde looked at me with a confused expression, not knowing what he should do from that moment on.

"Which of these should I choose?"

Clyde looked at me and asked, waiting for a more detailed explanation or perhaps for me to tell him which of the classes he should choose.

"I'm only going to say it once, so..."

I said that while staring at Clyde with a serious face and then turned to Ronnie Anne, Rusty, Zack and Liam.

"I hope you'll pay close attention too. After all, this is going to be good for you too."
