CHAPTER FIFTEEN

Darius teleported Norman to another place. Norman sensed his surroundings. They were definitely not in Atlanta anymore. Everywhere looked different. He wondered where Darius brought him to.

The room they were was kind of dark. There was a little window at the far corner where a tiny ray of light was passing through. Darius walked towards a door and opened it. It was then Norman recognized the place. It was one of Darius secret station. The room they were in must have been the torture room. Shit was that what was in Darius mind? Guess he must really be pissed.

They walked towards a large room. There was a mini bar in a corner. Darius moved there and grabbed a seat. He took one of the drinks there and fetched two glass cups. He poured the drink into them and served one to Norman. Norman also fetched himself a seat as he accepted the drink.

They continued drinking for half an hour without saying a word. Norman was tensed, he kept taking quick glances at Darius but Darius remained expressionless. His eyes were fixed at a spot on the ground. Looks like he was deep in thought.

"So" Norman began, "you've been gone for some time now, no actually for a long time now. Mind telling me where you've been and what you've been doing." Norman thought he saw Darius smile but it was only within a second.

"You know me well." Darius said. " I love exploiting places. I haven't really stayed in a place for too long. You know, move here get what I can from there and then go to the next place."

"Hopefully you haven't devoured a whole town", Norman jocked. Darius raised an eyebrow. " I have my appetite under control. Gone are the days when I used to do that. Civilization has changed a lot this days so obviously I have to move along with time."

"Yeah" Norman agreed. "I actually had a hard time getting used to this age. Technological innovations. Phones, WiFi, internet and all those stuffs."

"Of course" Darius said. "But I admire those who did it. Its a major breakthrough and a big help to the world and to vampires too. Speaking of that how have you been coping since I left with all this work."

"At first it was frustrating and hard" he replied, " but now everything is perfect." "The last time you called me you said otherwise" Darius reminded him.

"I have things under control now". Norman said. " It was just some troubles I had but its fine now." "Who was that man you were torturing back there?" Darius asked.

"Just blowing off some steam", Norman replied. "He's just a nobody. So why are you here? Are you back for good or you just came to see mebecause calling me on the phone wasn't good enough."

Darius looked at him amusingly. "There's a prophecy" he said. " Prophecy?" Norman asked confused.

"Yeah", Darius said. " Its one of those damn watchers who told me of it. They said there was a great imbalance taking place and humans and vampires would go extinct." Norman looked surprised. Just when he thought things were bad. Now its worse. He needed a plan right away or else he'll also go extinct. Darius was a vampire lord. There was no way he could go extinct like vampires so it shouldn't matter to him. He needed a plan to become a vampire lord and the only way to become that if he absorbs the power from a dying vampire lord and only strong vampire hunters can kill a vampire lord. He needed to push all his plans forward.

"That's not all." Darius said. " I was attacked by vampires from another bloodline lately. They attacked me when I visited one of my camps. They slaughtered all my men there. What however peaked my interest was a tattoo on them. Only one person originated that tattoo. Its Freda. I have strong reasons to believe she's alive and she's back. Did you know of anything like that?. Were you aware that she wasn't dead?."

Norman was taken aback by his question. "Of course not" he answered after some seconds." How would I know that?" Darius glared at him but didn't say anything.

"What are you planning?" Norman asked. " I mean things are going really bad."

"You're still in charge" Darius said. " But I'll be close by and you'll report everything to me". "I will", Norman promised. Darius stood up and so did Norman.

"I'll take you back" Darius said. He touched Norman's shoulders and willed some of his powers into Norman temporarily making Norman teleport himself back." Just picture it in your mind" he said to Norman and Norman closed his eyes. Soon Norman vanished from sight.

Darius frowned. Something was wrong. As soon as he spoke to Norman about his sister be heard Norman's hearth beating faster and louder. Norman was hiding something from him and he'll be damned if he find out what it was.
