I laid there still.

Trying to connect my thoughts once more.

Trying to decide what path I'll take in this new life.

I've been given an opportunity to live and I shall make every second worth it.

Footsteps echoed in the hallway. I guess someone must come to check my condition. The princess' body drowned for too long and there might be enough damage.

The door opened.

A man in his middle 70s came in, he was 6ft. tall, his hair was grey and lines visibly appear on his forehead. He is a handsome man.

"Yun'er?..." He hurriedly walked to my side and sat on the bed. And then he lifted my hand and put it on his cold ones.

"How are you dear?"

"How long were you conscious?"

"Are you hurt somewhere?"

"Do you feel uncomfortable?"

"My goodness! You made grandfather and grandmother worry about you." He sighed

So he is my grandfather...

His worries were written all over his face and his doting was visible when he spoke. Warmth seeped into my heart. I never had grandparents in my past life, so there's no way that I'll be able to feel this type of affection.

I shook my head a little 'no'

"Wait here I will call your grandmother and the imperial physician, now that your awake they must check your condition" I nodded then my grandfather immediately left

I tried to lift my left hand. There was a carved jade bracelet on it. Then I remembered, that the man I call grandfather was the former Emperor of this land, while his daughter is my mother.
