The King's Mate Is a Dark Luna

One mate is a blessing, two are a curse, I've learned it all the hard way. My life was as perfect as a life could be. Never notice it until I've lost it all. I'm an alpha line that also has a loving, carrying high-ranking mate. Not to mention that I'm always praised for how I look. I was what every she-wolf dreamed to be. Well, all of that changed when a stranger visited our pack. My entire world froze when my eye spot his seraphic eyes. I felt the same pull I've always felt toward my mate. Yet, a bit stronger. A stranger that is no one but the Alpha King himself. My entire idyllic world fell apart as I wasn't able to decide. Should I give a chance to the new pull I'm feeling for the alpha king, or to stay loyal to the one who's always been by my side.

My Oh My!

Jade's point of view:

A matter of minutes before the so-called alpha king steps inside of our territory. I don't know for what reason, but I don't feel good about it.

I wore a formal white shoulder dress, along with a pair of white high heels, fixed my hair into a bun. And it was all I needed to feel satisfied with my female beta appearance.

Tristan and his mate things cannot leave my mind. I don't mind him having a vampire as a feel, but here – it's way too much to take it in one day.

In a day she was trying to kill me, on the other day – I learned that she's my brother's mate.

I would be a liar if I deny how much I hate it all. Still, I can't do anything about it. I mean if they are destined for each other; it means that they are perfect for each other.

First, Tristan and I sat up on that he needed to meet her at least for another time before he made a decision. Then not to care about anyone's saying as long as he believed she's doing the right thing, only then did he calm down a bit.

Well, until the entire ceremony is over, he's not making any action. As for now, I got to get down in order to not be late for the reception of the alpha king and his Beta and Delta.

You might think that I'm a none loyal wolf since I don't seem to like our king. Well, it's not me alone who despite him. Can't deny that he is a strong alpha and leader, but that would never hide the fact that he is a cold-hearted alpha and a killer.

Killing is like a game for him, he doesn't spare or shows mercy to any soul. Even his mate, he's rumored to be the one who killed her.

I have no idea for what reason he is coming to our pack. But I wish it won't take him too much to miss his palace.

I hurried myself until I reached the outside of the packhouse, the last thing I would like to do is too angry the alpha by disrespecting him.

I breathed in and out as I spotted my mate, anger rush towered my vein seeing that he was talking to an unmated she-wolf. I do recognize her as Rachel; she was the same age as me and James. The thing that annoyed me about her was that she never found her mate yet. Worst, whenever I spot her, I find her standing by my mate's side.

What played out my feelings the most was that James never tried to pull her off his side. He always claims that she's just a friend. Friend my a** - the girl has clearly crushed on him, and he's doing nothing to stop her.

Anyway, I calmed myself down, then acted like there's nothing wrong. Then my way to stand next to my family members – exactly, Tristan.

His eyes were shooting daggers toward James who still didn't notice my presence, or act so.

"Never notice that my brother is a handsome fellow!" I noted near my brother's ear while trying to deceive his attention and mine away from my mate.

"Well, something used to be off with your eyes, and it seems that you've finally fixed it." He spoke as if he was stating the obvious.

"Rude!" I exclaimed while pinching his shoulder, and he busted into a laugh. Seeing him laughing that way eased the pain inside of my heart a bit.

"You're not looking any bad either." He teased again, and all I'd done this time was to huff and puff while rolling my eyes.

"Matter of fact, she looks breathtaking!" A voice I do recognize as James' voice cut the both of us out of our small chit-chat.

Part of me wanted to believe that the compliment I'm receiving from my mate could possibly be real. Yet, another part was telling me that all he wanted was to show Tristan his presence and to remind him that he was my mate – his sister's mate.

"Thank you for the compliment…" I kept it short while smiling with no real smile, then I swifted my attention toward Tristan and I added. "Tonight no one looks as perfect as our alpha – Tristan."

"He still not the alpha yet..." My mate interrupted me and answered him right back.

"A matter of minutes and everyone in this pack would have to show respect to the new alpha. Otherwise, leaving the pack still an option."

I was able to see the hint of surprise in both their eyes. I'm also surprised at myself. I kind of feel quite confident and stronger than I ever was.

I breathed in and out, then I spoke to my mate.

"We need to talk!"

"Right now?' He asked, and I nodded.

"Yes!" I firmly say.

"But, the alpha king…" He started and I cut him off.

" It's a serious matter, besides, It's just a matter of seconds."

He nodded his head, and we both made our way toward the packhouse. It wasn't safe to speak outside the packhouse since the soundproof walls do not exist outside the packhouse. As for werewolves, our senses are way too strong that we can hear a whisper miles away.

As we reached inside, we made it toward my father's office, then I spoke - No worries, my father never minded me inside of his office.

Before that I spoke my first words, one of his hands found its way toward my waist and grabbed me until my face rested a few inches away from his.

"I miss you." He whispers near to my ear, causing my breath to itch, and for a while, I was about to forget why am I here. But a tiny hint of Rachel's scent hit my nose.

"Oh god!" I shouted not loud, "You smell like her, and don't you dare fool me with any of lie."

It wasn't the first to scent her above my mate's body, yet, it never annoyed me as it does right now. She's a friend of his, and also one of the enforcement working on his lead. Still, why I don't smell other female fighters on my mate, only her.

"Nothing of what you're thinking is happening, and I never lied at you. We had a demonstrational fight in front of the pup in today's training. So, it's normal that I smell like her. Besides, she's a fiend – no more, not less…"

"Find another friend!" I demand trying my best to keep my wolf at obey. " I don't like her, my wolf doesn't like her."

"Stop acting like a jalousie she-wolf…" He started, but I interrupted him, pulling his hands and entire body away from me.

"What is I am a jealous she-wolf? Don't I have the right to feel jealous when I see another wanting what's mine?"

He opened his mouth, trying to say something, and before he spoke, I spoke instead.

"Don't… You're just going to make it worse by defending her in front of me." I breathed in and out, then decided to continue speaking. "I didn't call her to talk about her.. I want to tell you that I've spent those few days you were absent thinking about what you told me last time."

"Sweetheart, I wasn't myself last time when we spoke. So don't take any of what I've said seriously."

His interruption didn't change a bit of what was running inside of my mind. So, all I'd done was to wait for him until he was done speaking, then I resume my talk.

"I've thought about it, and you were right… We need to take some time… We're not the same as we were, and I need time to think. How about..."

"Enough!" He shouted, and I was out of words. "That's not going to happen! I love you and you know that. You have no right to do this to me."

"And you have the right to abandon me for I don't know how long. You have the right to keep me unprotected.. You also have the right to surround yourself with unmated females. Let's just take a break from each other…."

Not waiting for him to speak any other word, I made my way out toward the entrance of the packhouse in which everyone was waiting for the so-called alpha king.

Damn, like I have nothing to do with my life just to wait for him. I whipped a tiny tear that was about to run down my face. Then I went back to where my brother was standing. I felt James approaching my side. He stood near to me, then his hand took my hand.

Sparks flew all over my body from that tiny interaction, as much as I wanted to pull my hand off, I couldn't. Stupid mate bond – I cursed inside of myself.

He then whispered again inside of my ear.

"I will never leave you! You know why?"

A shiver ran down my spine, as he was speaking, but I didn't say a thing.

"Because I love you!"

Unable to say any I was, my breath itched, and I felt as if my entire world turned upside down,

"He's finally here!" Tristan broke the tension that was created between me and my mate as he wanted to alarm us that the alpha king had arrived.

A black Lamborghini stopped near to the packhouse, and from that exact car, stepped the most handsome man my eyes laid on.

Unconsciously, my hand slipped off James's hand, and my entire world stopped in its tracks. My oh my...!
