Married in the mothers' wombs, this is a story of two individuals and how they overcome the many obstacles life throws at them in a traditional backward country. The next king and his first wife. This is unlike any other classic Indian romance I have ever been across. A lot of interesting things occur in the life of a modern prince and his simplistic wife. A radical prince who wants to break all the norms of society and a simple princess who just wants a normal palace life. Can they survive the world when evil is brewing right in their family? Many attempts to break those two apart by the very woman who got them together and his second marriage put their relationship to a damper but can they manage to stay together?
It was around 10 and she was currently in a hot battleground inside the palace, looking at his husband fight warriors with another woman. Generally, she would either join him or see all that with Suhani but now that Suhani was gone, she had Aditi and honestly, she did no more know if having another wife was a bad thing or a good. She could now share responsibilities like cooking food and serving it. She now had not only her maids but even another woman who could be her best friend after Suhani but she still didn't know. Sharing her responsibilities was one thing. Sharing her husband was another.
" Don't you feel hot here?" That woman was sweating even when she had a maid fan her and only for a second, Pari's eyes shifted from Sohit to look at her
" I used to but now I'm just used to it. You'll be too if you come here every day," she answered honestly and the woman only looked at her skeptically. Every day? Aditi wasn't ready to come there for another hour. She was just being forced by her duty of being a good wife...
" Pari!" He just shouted her name from a distance and immediately both the women turned to look at him and then, Pari smiled. God that couple. Aditi was cringed out after seeing her elder sister smile. She could not so it. Getting up early every morning and studying. She could not make food for a minute after waking up at 4:30 just to look pretty in front of Sohit. She couldn't be there at the battlefield and look at men sweat and practice. She was supposed to a princess now. All the laborious jobs were for her maids, not her. But she didn't have an option. That old woman had ordered her to have a kid with Sohit before he got crowned king and there were only 3 years to that. She had to get closer to her man...
" Yes," the woman walked over to Sohit. She still had her ghunghat on. Seriously, wasn't it getting any hot to her?!
But when Aditi saw how Sohit held her hand and made her practice in front of so many guys like she was the center of the world's attention, she got jealous again. Aditi could so damn easily see where Sohit's hands were laying and how the swift movements made Pari only go closer to him. It was more romantic than you could've thought...
" They look cute together na...?" The maid who had come along with Aditi from Raniganj said in a little excitement and Aditi only turned to glare at her.
" I am 2 years away from 18. He's just 3 years away from being crowned and all you have to say is this?" Aditi asked her in anger
" What? It's not my fault that you can't rope in a single boy. I have already roped in mine," the maid snapped back at her and she could only sigh. That was exactly how people were back in Raniganj. Rude, greedy, selfish, and only caring about themselves. They didn't look for anyone else's good and Aditi was just raised into that society.
This time, they were making food again and Aditi knew so well that it would be Pari who would plate Sohit. But it wasn't like she had any problems. Her work got lessened. She was just pure lazy...
" Jiji. Where are you going?" She didn't know about where Pari ate after Sohit was done with his food and Pari turned to answer her
" He likes me eating in front of him while he studies," she was standing right behind Sohit and he himself had stopped walking. Was his new wife seriously as confident as to ask Pari that question openly? Was she not scared of the favored wife of his? But then again, after seeing Pari's nature, she would just be kind and friendly. He couldn't expect anything else from his bubbly wife either...
" Pari," again with the name. It was as of Pari knew what he meant when he just called her name. He didn't even need to give any other orders. Just say Pari for once and done. Pari would do everything that he wanted her to do and Aditi was so irritated. The entire day, the most word that she had heard had been Pari. Pari. Pari. Pari. She couldn't hear it once again and she was so damn thankful that Sohit went to help his father with the country rather than staying back with Pari.
" Jiji. How do you know everything he wants?" They were playing on the swing, like small children. It was just a makeshift But pretty sturdy...
" Huh? What he wants... Hmm... Let me think," Pari just swung even harder and Aditi completely stopped swinging her swing. She wanted to hear all that. She wanted to take notes.
" I guess it's just easier to know what he wants because I've stayed with him since birth. And he's super easy to read after you get to know him. Like, he only likes more rice in his food and he always wants you to dress up the best but not show it... He's an idiot that way,"
" And why do you wear a ghunghat when people are around?" Pari stopped swinging too now and just looked at Aditi with a finger
" I don't wear no ghunghat with only women and children around," Pari stopped her, " I just have to wear a ghunghat when men are around. He doesn't want any man seeing my beauty," she completed, " and it's irritating logic but he's my husband. It's a wife's first dharam to serve her husband. The others come later. He's been telling me that since we were 2,"
Now Aditi understood why no one ever had a picture or even a painting of Pari. Sohit was just a jealous, overprotective, and possessive kind of husband and he wanted Pari to herself. When he started behaving like that with Aditi too, it would mean that Aditi has grown on Sohit...
" PARI!" Someone shouted from the way back and Pari immediately put her ghunghat on without even looking back
" That must be him. I'll go now. Good night," she told the young woman who sat in front of her and Aditi sighed
" What about dinner?"
" He'll have it in the room,"
