Lawyer!

Yin XinYi rode a taxi to the government building. Looking up at the skyscraper, she walked in.

The receptionist yawned. She was quite tired and was impatiently waiting for lunchtime since she was starving. It's been over five hours since she last ate.

"Ah, I just want a cheeseburger with fries and a vanilla milkshake!" she called out to her coworker.

"Add an apple pie with whipped cream on that list," laughed her friend.

Suddenly, a shadow loomed over her. The receptionist turned to see a rather beautiful woman standing before her.

How pretty, she thought. Putting on a sincere expression upon her face, she asked the black-haired woman before her, "How may I help you?"

"Hello, I'm here to switch my foreign license to Country 1's," replied the young lady politely.

"Identification? And your old license, please," the receptionist requested.

The young lady handed her green card and old driver's license to the receptionist.

The receptionist put them through a scanner before returning it to her. She grabbed a clipboard and said, "Please fill out this—"

A scream pierced through the air. A middle-aged woman came charging towards the front desk. She shoved the black-haired beauty out of her way and started to harass the receptionist.

"What is this?" she screamed, waving an envelope in the receptionist's face.

Although flustered, the receptionist replied to the woman calmly, "Ma'am, I do not know. I shall look at it later after I assist this young lady. Please be patient and wait for your turn."

"This is a letter suspending my license! Why was my license suspended?" She yelled, ignoring what the receptionist had said.

The receptionist subtly rubbed her ears. The lady was screaming in her face. She was going to turn deaf at this rate. "Ma'am, please. This is a government building. I need you to refrain from yelling and wait your turn. Or else, security will be called to remove you from the premises."

"How dare you treat me this way? Security? Who do you think you are?" She continued to yell. Her face was turning red and she was breathing heavily.

The receptionist quietly gestured to her coworker to call security.

"Ma'am please calm dow—" her last word rose up into a scream. The angry lady had reached her hand and pulled on the collar of the receptionist causing her to rise from her seat.

There was no glass or barrier between the two, allowing the angry woman to achieve such a feat.

At that moment, security had rushed to the scene. Quickly, they restrained the angry woman, forcing her to release the receptionist.

"Let go of me! How dare you! You will be sued! Release me, this instant! My lawyer, my lawyer…" she continued to scream and ramble on.

Security dragged her out of the place as her screams faded. The receptionist's face was deadly pale as she clutched her heart area. Her coworker came over and patted her back.

Quietly, she whispered, "I'll take this one. You go back and take a drink, a break, maybe take the rest of the day off. Relax. I got this."

The receptionist nodded as she got up and left, walking towards a door in the back.

The coworker looked at the young lady standing there. "Apologies for the delay. Are you injured?"

The young woman shook her head, "I'm quite fine, thank you."

The coworker nodded. "A license transfer? Please fill out the form within your hand and return it back to. As long as everything is right, you shall receive a temporary license today and the permanent one in the mail in one to two weeks," she said.

The young woman nodded and walked to one of the seats in the waiting area. She sat down and started filling out the paper.

The coworker mentally applauded the young lady for her composure and scolded the middle aged woman in her heart. She left the counter and went to the original receptionist as they both had to report to security and in turn, the police.

Naturally, Yin XinYi was not fazed by the disturbance. What hadn't she seen? She had watched women become gripped with jealousy, throwing tantrums, even sabotaging their own kin. She had lived among the peacocks who flaunt their feathers at every chance. The middle aged woman could not even compare to the level of arrogance that the upper society held.

Yin XinYi finished filling out the paperwork and handed it to the receptionist. It was a different receptionist than the previous two. Her paperwork got processed and a temporary license was created on the spot after Yin XinYi's picture was taken.

Yin XinYi started to walk out when a police officer walked towards her.

"Excuse me ma'am, you were there when the incident happened, yes?"

Yin XinYi nodded.

"If I may have your cooperation?"

A tinge of annoyance flashed through Yin XinYi. Oh how she disliked disruptions to her schedule. However, outwardly, she smiled. "Of course," she replied to the officer. There was no need to go to the station. This was not a murder, afterall.

Yin XinYi fluidly explained the scene. She described everything in simple terms, refraining from prolonging her stay. Her words were short but concise, allowing the officer to understand what played out and her part in it.

The officer nodded, fully understanding what had conspired. He thanked her and allowed her to leave. Yin XinYi left. It was time to get groceries.

Last foreseeable chapter. Thank you all for coming with me on this journey! Here is the second reason why: I'm writing ANOTHER NOVEL! This story is my baby. A gem I would like to polish. I don't want to write something awful. So my second book (ML; Fantasy) is written on a secondary account. Honestly, it is dramatically different from this current one in both the higher quality of it (yay writing improved) and darker/slower plot. :/ Please support :) Thank You and love you all. See you soon!!!
