Chapter 6

Why can't Yomon be thinner so we didn't have to walk all the way back to Icelia? If he wasn't fat, he could ride a horse, but how big he is, the horse could ride him. Lucky for Thoron, he has a horse and offered a ride, but I declined since I want to return with my mentors. He looked at me for a few moments and shrugs and climbs onto his horse and rides off towards Icelia. I wanted to, but felt like I should walk to Icelia. The way to Icelia is fraught with mountains, forests, and hills. It wasn't easy getting across them the first time, the second time will be tougher since they are worn out from walking everywhere. Next time we leave, I may just leave on my own since I can ride a horse. Vizion won't like it, but I don't care. I can get around faster by myself anyways. He'll just have to deal with it. I hope that Vizion won't send a hunting party after me if I do that.

Thankful, the day is bright and sunny and we are only a day's walk away from Icelia. Clouds are forming in the distance and could bring storms if they head this way. I hope we don't get caught in the storms. I've had enough of this travel. My feet hurt, I had to throw my old sword away, but got a new and better one, we caught the person who was spying on us, it seems Vizion doesn't trust us on this journey, and we don't have any horses to get back home! What else can go wrong? I want to know!

Enough of me going on about how this little journey is going. We pass the mountains where the first tomb was at. I still want to know more about the golden sword. Who had it belonged to and what was it made for? I've heard of many weapons and armor being made in the past that held extraordinary powers. Could the sword be one of those many weapons? I'll have to ask the blacksmith in Icelia. He's the one who made my first sword (the one that I had to leave behind in the mountains). Maybe he knows what the sword was made for.

I look around and find that Yomon and Tosta had fallen behind. They both looked worn out. My legs are starting to hurt to. Looks like we won't make it to Icelia until tomorrow. I lead them to one of the many forests that blanket the Iceltic land. Getting out of the hot sun will do us some good. Yomon heads further into the forest to hunt for food. The guys may be big, but he is quiet when it comes to hunting. I remember when Tosta and Yomon took me out into one of the forests by Icelia. They told me to trust my senses and just left me there. Turns out, that they were trying to scare me by sneaking up on me. I heard Tosta, but Yomon ended up sneaking up on me. I get a fire going with what energy I have left and lay in the soft grass. It has been a long month, but we will finally get a chance to rest when we get back home.

Yomon comes back with nothing but berries. I'm a little confused since Yomon always goes after deer or smaller animals. He says that it's been some time since we all ate fruit. I agree, but eating something good wouldn't hurt. I reluctantly take the berries and sit close to the fire. The days are scalding hot, but the nights are becoming increasingly colder. It'll only be a matter of time before the leaves on these trees will turn into their beautiful fall colors. Seeing all the forests around the land change colors, is a spectacle to see. Ever since I came to Iceltic, I always enjoyed the fall colors. Many would gather on Icelia's great walls and look at the forests. I wonder what Argostia is like. I've heard that it's mostly a desert landscape with only a few rivers here and there. Mountains and valleys cover the land. I don't see how Argostia is a great place to live at all. My father may still be over there. Could he be helping Argostia win this war?

The war has been taking drastic turns in recent months. The passing bridge that connects the two lands has been fought over since the start of the war. A couple times, Argostia troops made it through and nearly captured Taloon, the Iceltic city on the other side of the bridge. Thanks to heavy reinforcements, the Argostia troops were driven back to their side of the bridge. Iceltic troops marched several times on the capital, only to be driven back with only a handful of troops left. The Argostia capital, Mankana, is revered as the 'Great Walled City'. Reports from the scouts said that those walls are several miles thick. Thick enough to hold an entire city itself. Mankana itself is a gigantic city, several times larger than Icelia. It's surprising that Argostia hasn't marched through Iceltic lands yet. It'll only be a matter of time. That's why finding the Ice Crystal is the top priority to Vizion. I won't let him have it though. He'll only use it for evil and I don't want what happened thousands of years ago to happen again.

The small fire began to dwindle and I get up to go and get some more wood. Yomon and Tosta are passed out drunk again. I think they are starting to respect my boundaries. This time they didn't offer me anything to drink and that's alright. I pick up what twigs and branches that are around the campsite. I don't want to leave those two alone out in the forest. Even though every forest is patrolled every day, I still don't trust anything or anybody. I come back with an armload of wood. The fire is out, which is weird. Yomon and Tosta had disappeared. What's going on?

"It's nice to see my daughter again." The voice of my father calls out, "It has been years."
