THE HUNTRESS AND THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE.

No one had ever thought that zombies would be the ones responsible for the end of the world. It wasn't how they had imagined the world to end. The world had turned to ruins just because of one person. Everyone was fighting for their lives. It was either you fought or you died. Morals had died as no one was there to uphold the law. Ophelia was still locked up in the room with four walks and no window. Every day she thought about how she was going to escape but couldn't remember those thoughts the next day. It was as if she was in a simulation and she had reached a point where she didn't know if it was real or not. She had no idea what was going out there in the world. The world that she longed to see so much. She didn't know that they had destroyed it. What was she? Riley had already lost hope of finding her sister because if she was alive then she would have flu d her already. As they packed their things from the camp they all hoped that they were going to find shelter. They had a heard a government facility that was working on a cure maybe that was the only way for them. They had no idea what was in store for them. Were they going to survive or were they just going to be like the other people who had gone to search for the cure and were turned into lab rats? The big question is was this all real or were they just in a simulation?

She passed the same hallway she had gone through the previous day only that this time she didn't remember ever using that holiday before.

She was just like a newborn baby who saw the world in a new way the moment they started seeing but the difference was that it had always been like that they just didn't see it before.

The excitement they felt was the same as she had because she thought that by this some of her questions of hers were going to be answered.

Nothing was going to change though. It was going to remain the same the following day and the one that followed right after.

She entered the same lab she had entered before and they had asked her to lay on the bed she had done so and as they tied her hands on either side it was then that she realized that she had bruises on her hands.

How had she not noticed them before that? Had she been kidnapped? What if they were holding her against her will?

She tried to think of all the reasons that would have made them tie her but she couldn't come up with any valid one.

The room looked like maybe she was in a hospital given there were bottles of medicine on the table next to her.

What was she being treated for?

Did she have a form of mental illness? Is that why they tied her down because they thought that she would hurt them?

Or maybe she had hurt them in the past and they did not want a repetition of that to happen again.

Immediately that thought crossed her mind the door she entered through opened and in came a woman who was dressed in green.

The pants she was wearing fit her slender body perfectly and the suit jacket was tight on her waist revealing her small waist.

The black heels she was wearing were so long Ophelia wondered how she was able to walk in them.

The red lipstick she had made her face pop given that her body was pale.

She made her way to where Ophelia was sleeping with a smile on her face and then she made up her mind that maybe she was a good person.

"Hello ", Ophelia said as the woman wore her lab coat and a pair of glasses.

"Hi ", she said back as she put on a pair of gloves.

"Can I ask you what your name is ?", Ophelia asked her.

"I told you yesterday don't you remember ", the woman answered her as she scrutinized her.

"I was here yesterday ?", Ophelia asked her looking confused.

"Yes, don't you remember you were here yesterday but I won't tell you my name again I want you to be able to remember it all alone so for now you can just call me doc ", the woman said as she still kept the smile on her face.

She took a syringe from the table beside the table and tied a glove around one of Ophelia's hands

"Now I am going to draw some blood out of you it's just so that I can monitor how your body is reacting to the medication I have put you on ok?", the woman told her and waited for Ophelia to say something.

"Is it going to hurt a lot?", Ophelia asked her.

"No it will just sting a little ", she said to Ophelia as the smile on her face started fading.

She was tired of waiting for her to say yes. If she was asleep she could easily draw out the blood like she used to do before but since the girl was awake during this session she wanted her to see that she was a good person.

She wanted Ophelia to feel comfortable around her. She wanted her to feel like she could trust her with anything.

"Yeah sure ", Ophelia finally answered.

After a few minutes, her blood was drawn and out in a tube that had her initials. From the corner of her eye, she could see her adding it to other samples in a small fridge that was filled with samples. She wondered if all that blood was hers so she decided to ask.

"Is that all mine or are there other people here ?", Ophelia asked her and the doctor hesitated for a while without answering.

"Oooh this is for other patients too it's a little too much to just belong to one person ", she answered her.

The truth was that all of it was her blood .maybe that was the fact that she was scrawny and looked pale.

"So I have to do a routine check-up and ask you some questions before I let you go, have you been having dreams ?", the doctor asked her.

Did she always ask her these questions all the time or did she just ask them?

Ophelia wondered how much this woman knew and how much she could tell her. Maybe if she made her think that they were friends and tell her some things maybe their friendship would grow and would be able to tell her things, she thought.

They were both playing a game here and only the strongest and brave one of them was going to survive.

It was hard for Ophelia to win though given that the doctor called all the shots. She knew most of the things that Ophelia did, who she was, and why she was at the facility but all Ophelia knew was that she was alive.

"Yeah I think I had a dream today ", Ophelia said.

"What was it about ?", the doctor asked her as she wrote what Ophelia had said down or pretended to.

"I was in a forest but the rest of the details are foggy so I don't know what happened ", said Ophelia.

" That's okay not everyone remembers their dreams or it was something bad and your brain is trying to forget it ", the doctor said.

" Yeah I think that is what is happening I think my brain is making me forget things on purpose ", Ophelia said.

" What is your name ? ", the doctor asked her.

" Lidia ", Ophelia said almost immediately. It was as if she had been waiting to be asked that question.

" Are you sure ? ", the doctor asked her.

" Yes am sure which fool forgets their name ? ", Ophelia asked chuckling.

" No one ", okay I think that's it for today ", the doctor said as she closed the notebook she was using.

"Can I ask for something ?", Ophelia asked.

"Yeah sure anything ", the doctor said as she flashed her a charming smile.

"Can I get to leave my room and go out for like a few minutes for the sun please ?", she asked.

She did wang the sun but also she wanted to go see the outside world so that she could figure out where she was.

Maybe if she went outside she would go outside and see something that could trigger her memories.

The doctor looked like she was thinking about it for a while but she knew this day was bound to happen.

"Yes there is no problem I'll tell them to let you out for thirty minutes every day ", she said.

"Thank you and are these handcuffs necessary?", Ophelia asked.

She was pushing her luck and the doctor's patience was running thin every second.

"Yeah they are necessary you tried to kill me before ", she said this time not smiling and Ophelia regretted asking it.
