Chapter 5: Playing chess

Tsubaki brought a chessboard to the table and set it up, He played the black pieces.

Enzo: go first I'm the one challenging you.

Sona moved her first piece. But Enzo, he had already formed a plan.

the game was back and forth as to what Enzo wanted and Sona started to look stressed. He was letting her think she was taking the advantage. the game kept going for about 30 minutes. Before he had taken the advantage back and won.

Sona look befuddled, she had never lost before and she made a promise before that anyone who could beat her at chess would be a husband candidate. Now she was a little flustered looking at the guy in front of her, was it going to be him??

Sona: you've won and we should give you what you want but, we can't just let you do whatever you want. this is still a school with rules, but we can make the school rules a little laxer.

Enzo: well I kind of guessed it was a long shot but worth it and because I have an interest in you Sona ill tell you what I am anyway, I'm a naturally mutated human, I'm like a human but I was born with physical, mental and magical abilities above that of a normal human. One of the magic's is called 'Aard'

Making the hand sign for Aard Enzo thought it would be fun to show them

Formless energy spread out pushing Tsubaki and Sona back a few feet Surprising them because they didn't see a magic circle.

Sona: How can magic not have a magic circle.

Enzo: It kind of does, I made a hand sign.

Tsubaki looked at Sona with a worried look

Tsubaki: Sona what should we do you lost.

Sona Winked at Tsubaki. it was lime she was telling Tsubaki not to worry

Sona: Enzo why do you grow stronger.

Enzo was surprised at her question. he wasn't sure totally sure of it himself but he had an idea.

Enzo: I want to live a free life with the women I love. without interruptions just being together.

Sona: Women not the woman?? you want a harem. that's disgusting.

Sona and Tsubaki's eyes of curiosity went to that of disgust making sure that Enzo noticed it.

Enzo immediately knew what they thought about him now and signed. he knew he would have to change Sona's mind about the whole thing but it would take some effort Because if she was going to be the main wife she would need to be open to the idea of him not only having a harem but also taking control of it.

Enzo: Oh come on don't look at me like that I might get offended. its a harem but why does it have to be disgusting if I love them and they love me why should it matter to anyone else and if they have a voice about it, ill beat them. I have a heart.

With the Disgust lessening just a little bit Sona finally spoke about what she wanted to ask.

Sona: well if you want to get stronger how about joining my peerage and become my protector and knight

Enzo was happy he thought he was going to need more steps to get her to ask him but Aard might have helped speed that up. Along with beating her at chess. Enzo thought 'System will she be able to reincarnate me.'

{Host are you kidding me, you have <Truck-kun's apology sword of justice> now way she can. her talent sucks. but if the host buys an item that I have prepared she can}

Enzo whispered: what item

{Reliance pill}

Pill connected to the owner's essence if ingested by someone else it increases their talent by a large margin linking them with you

price: 800

Enzo: buy it.

Sona was very confused by his word until she saw a pill form in his hand. The pill was completely red and had a comfortable aura to it.

Enzo: Eat this and I'll become your knight you have my word

Tsubaki looked at her king with concern. she was sure that Sona would be fine if she took the pill but something was uneasy about the whole thing.

Tsubaki: Sona do not take that pill it could be a trap. Maybe something similar.

Sona: Enzo what will this pill do to me Harm me, put me under your control.

Enzo: ha nothing of the sort it will just let you reincarnate me into a devil. I wouldn't lie to you or try to harm you Sona-dear.

Sona: Sona-dear when did I get that name and what gives you the right to call me that.

Enzo: I gave it to myself and if you want me for a knight just eat the pill.

Sona got lost in thought for a bit. mulling over everything she knew about him

Sona: Fine ill take it but don't go back on your word

Sona grabbed the pill from Enzo's hand and threw it in her mouth and swallowed it. She didn't feel anything different other then a weird power flowing threw her and it was burning her blood. Sona was scared but then she found out her blood was quickly regenerating and replacing itself. She had become a lot more powerful. After it had settled down she felt and indescribable connection to Enzo.

Sona: I don't know what kind of pill that was but it made me stronger. is this your way of telling me I'm not strong enough to reincarnate you. well, I think I can now so will you?

Enzo: gladly I gave my word how does this work, do you just hand me the piece and I accept it into me??

Sona then threw a punch into Enzo's face with the chess piece in her hand while a white magic circle appeared.

{System has detected energy trying to change the Host, would you like to Reject it??}

Enzo: no

Right after Enzo had said that everything went black.
