Chapter2a:The Ancient Temple

I pushed the stone door open, and a musty smell wafted out. As I stepped inside, the door creaked shut behind me, and I heard the sound of scraping and scuttling coming from the darkness. I fumbled in my backpack for a flashlight and turned it on, casting flickering shadows on the walls.

I found myself in a narrow corridor, lined with ancient carvings depicting strange rituals and mysterious creatures. The air was thick with the scent of incense and something else... something pungent and acrid. I followed the corridor, my heart racing with anticipation, until I reached a large stone chamber.

In the center of the room, a massive statue loomed, its eyes glowing with an eerie blue light. The statue depicted a long-forgotten king, his face twisted in a snarl. As I approached, I noticed that the blue light was pulsing in time with my own heartbeat.

Suddenly, a voice boomed from the shadows, echoing off the walls. "Who dares to disturb the rest of the ancient ones?" it thundered.
