The Hero Of Vengeance

"Kill them all...Burn it down..." Those are the words I heard echoing in my head ever since the day I woke up in Lorelei. The voice sounds familiar. I've heard it before. But would it be crazy if I said it sounded like me? Would it be crazy...if I said i remembered dying? Utterly rediculous. To repeat the same thing over and over, expecting a different result while changing absolutely nothing. I was the son of a Duke and a commoner in a foreign land. Through pain and suffering, I somehow managed to marry a beautiful Princess of that land. You know...after my father got eaten by a dragon. And after being locked in a dungeon and tortured by her insane sister... But none of that matters now. Because my world lies in ruins. Everyone I've ever known is dead. All except my beloved, who stands to protect me with her shield. But I don't mean to say that things have been destroyed... What I mean, is much simpler. Avernia is gone. Gone forever. Lost to the plague I called 'The Black Ooze'. But I'll avenge it. I'll kill the one responsibke for massacring my family and destroying my world. They'll regret having made an enemy out of me. Because the sword I wield is called Vengeance. The Overseer sword. The Omni-Weapon. No matter the cost...I will have vengeance. I'll kill them all. I'll burn everything down. Author's note: I sincerely hope you enjoy my work, but keep in mind that I am my own editor and I don't see everything. there might still be a few errors. Sorry! This is an original work.

THIS CHAPTER CONTAINS INSTANCES OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE!

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

Within the castle of Albatross, Princess Isabella made her way back to her room and changed into a dress.

She intended to wait for the adventurer group to return. However...her arch nemesis entered room without knocking.

"Darling! There you are! I've been looking for you everywhere!" Arvild said with a smile.

It was a disgusting smile. Like a man undressing her with his eyes.

Walter stepped in front of her as usual. Isabella was eternally grateful to the old man for protecting her from this disgusting man...

She still held the hope that she could run away and leave this life behind...

Maybe soon she would be able to...

However...

"Not going to speak, huh? Well, that's fine. You'll have plenty to say soon. His Majesty has requested an audience with you. We will go immediately," Arvild said.

"What are you planning, you scoundrel?" Walter said.

"Planning? Oh, nothing at all. And I genuinely mean that. This is about what the Queen has requested. Not me."

"...Walter. Let's go..." Isabella said defeatedly.

"Of course, my lady..."

Arvild reached out his hand and Isabella put her arm around Walter's arm instead.

"Don't touch me, you pervert..." Isabella said.

"No matter," Arvild said with a smile.

The three of them made their way to the throne room where they found the King and Queen waiting for them.

The three of them bowed to their knees out of respect.

The King seemed greatly troubled.

"Evryss...please reconsider... It will take time, but I'm sure they'll-"

"Silence, Ronald! It has been six months since they wed. We thwarted twelve suicide attempts before the wedding and fifteen afterward. She has yet to even allow him to touch her. I WANT AN HEIR THIS INSTANT!!!" Queen Evryss roared a she slammed her first into the arm of her throne.

Isabella kept her head down.

"Believe me, your Majesty, I have tried to woo her. I've been a perfect gentleman, but Isabella will have none of it..." Arvild said.

He was acting. Isabella knew that he was only interested in the throne...and her body.

"I know, Arvild. That's why I've brought you here today. Isabella, by order of the throne of Albatross, you and Arvild are to go to your room and consummate your marriage immediately. I demand that you begin trying to produce an heir. If you fail, I'll have you sent to the Darius estate to live with him until you succeed. Do I make myself clear?" Queen Evryss said.

"M-mother!?!? Please no! Please don't-"

"SILENCE, ISABELLA!!! I GROW TIRED OF YOUR DISOBEDIENCE!!! YOU HAVE A ROYAL OBLIGATION TO FULFILL!!!" Queen Evryss screamed.

"..."

Isabella was stunned silent. She was terrified...to think that today of all days she would have to be violated by that bastard...

"I don't care if you have to drag her back to her room, Arvild. Take her away!" Queen Evryss said.

Isabella stood up immediately and Arvild instantly was upon her. He grabbed her arm and began pulling her away with him.

Walter stood up and placed his hand on his sword.

"My lady!"

"Cease at once, Walter. You will guard them and ensure no one disturbs their communion. Isabella will learn to love Arvild as I learned to love Ronald."

"Evryss! You didn't seem to mind this much back then! Consider our daughter's feelings!" Ronald protested.

"Hush, Ronald. This has to happen. Begone with you lot."

Isabella struggled as Arvild dragged her along.

"GET OFF OF ME!!! WALTER!!! PLEASE HELP!!!" Isabella cried.

Walter closed his eyes and his hand fell limp by his side. As if he were trying his best not to cry.

"No...PLEASE!!! PLEASE NO!!!" Isabella cried.

As she was dragged down the hall, Walter followed behind, trying to look away.

Eventually, she was pulled onto her room. The door was kicked shut behind them and she was tossed onto her bed.

At that moment, Arvild began trying to tear her dress off of her.

Since he was over level 100, his strength was monstrous compared to Isabella's measly level 30.

As this was happening, Isabella screamed and kicked, hoping to wound him.

But none of her attacks seemed to have an effect...

Soon, her dress had been completely torn off and the only thing between her and Arvild was her underwear...

And for a moment...things seemed to slow down...

She heard a voice in her head.

"This is absolutely the last thing I expected to see here... Wow. An entire recreation of Avernia? And to top it all off, my worst nightmare is in progress. How utterly repulsive... Tell me, do you want this to end?"

"YES!!! PLEASE!!! MAKE THIS END!!!"

"I thought you'd say that. We'll combine our consciousness. I'm Isabella, by the way. The one from the real Avernia."

"Real...Avernia!?"

"Yes. I married a nice man named Mizik on that world. We became adventurers and fought evil. Have you seen Mizik?"

"Yes! I saw him earlier with the man...Kronos! Please!!! Help me!!!"

"That's all I need to hear. Let go of yourself."

Isabella relaxed her muscles and closed her eyes.

She felt the presence from her mind spread throughout her body...

And finally...

* * *

Isabella's eyes shot open and she felt power surge through her body. She kicked Arvild clear across the room.

He slammed into the wall and fell to the floor.

"I really hoped never to see you again. I hope you're enjoying the view, because it's the last thing you'll ever see," Isabella said.

"WHAT!?!? WHAT THE HELL- AAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I'M MELTING!!!!! AAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"

Arvild was cloaked in holy light as his skin and flesh melted off. He collapsed into a pile of bones.

"Eww...someone left a pile of fecal matter in my room..." She said dismissively.

The door opened immediately and Walter came in.

"My lady!? What...what happened!?"

"Oh...so you're here as well. Ah, now I remember... Those memories are still downloading..."

"My...lady...?"

"Pay it no mind. I killed Arvild. Self defense. You will be under my rule from now on because soon, we will be leaving this kingdom forever. Is that understood?" Isabella said.

Walter smiled as tears rolled down his face.

"Yes!! A thousand times yes! My lady!!! I'm so glad you're okay!!!" He cried.

He ran over and hugged her tightly, blubbering at the same time.

"Of course, Walter...by the gods, I miss you... But...could you allow me to get dressed?" Isabella said with a smile.

"M-my apologies! Would you allow me to gather adequate clothing for-"

"That will not be necessary."

She reached into her inventory and pulled out her adamantine armor.

She began to quickly put it on over her mostly bare skin.

Soon, it wouldn't matter anyway.

Because soon, she would help Mizik get out of this place. They would get their revenge and the Artificer would pay dearly for everything he had done.

As Walter walked behind her to check on the fastening of her armor straps, Isabella couldn't help but smile wide.

This was going to be fun.

* * *

The more undead we found, the more I decided to create. And now, we had a small army patrolling ahead and behind us. It was at the point where we didn't even encounter enemies anymore..

We started to find necromancers, but they had long since been killed by the time we saw them.

My undead army was far stronger than anything regular mortals could ever hope to control.

While this was going on, Kronos and the others seemed disturbed by something.

Nevertheless, we eventually arrived at a large cistern where my soldiers had gathered outside.

As I approached, I looked down into it and saw a man whose face was partially skeletal.

"Find out where the intruders are! I absolutely will not tolerate anyone ruining my plans! I've waited far too long for this!!!" He said angrily.

"You were dead the moment we received this job," I said aloud.

He looked up and his remaining eye went wide.

"You...who the hell are you!?!?" He shouted.

Kronos stepped forward with a smile, hoping to heroically introduce himself.

"Don't even start, Krow. There's no point," I said just before turning back to the one responsible for all this. "Our identities aren't important

You will die here. End of story."

"I AM ASCENDED!!! I CAN NO LONGER DIE BY THE HANDS OF MORTALS!!! KILL THEM, MY SOLDIERS!!!" He shouted.

He raised his bony staff and I could see a partially rotted skeletal hand underneath his robe sleeve.

The necromancers in the room began raising several more skeletons and low level zombies.

All while their leader conjured a skeletal dragon.

"BEHOLD MY POWER!!! I-"

"Hilarious." I said.

I waved my hand and their undead immediately fell limp.

Afterward, I summoned a dragon of my own. One twice as big with three heads.

It glared at the necromancers with pure hatred.

"Wh-wha...WHAT THE HELL!?!? WHAT ARE YOU!?!?" The necromancer leader screamed.

"No one important..." I said.

The dragon opened all three of its mouths and spewed blue spectral flames out, melting all of the individuals in the cistern.

Afterward, I looked at the glowing crystal in the center of the room and fired a magic arrow at it. The crystal shattered and the energy was released.

I wasn't a fool.

I knew that thing was a phylactery. The source of power for the lich controlling all of this.

...if that thing could even be classified as a lich. He was so weak that I barely noticed.

Nothing compared to Aldaril.

I stopped myself for a moment.

Who the hell is Aldaril...?

I shook my head and turned around.

Then, I sent my soldiers to patrol the sewers. I ordered them to kill any other necromancers they found.

"Well then. You done playing leader? Can we finally get back to normal now?" Kronos said.

"I don't know that you're talking about. I just took charge because everyone here, save Nasumi, is an idiot."

"Cocky bastard, you are... You know that? You won't be laughing here soon..." Kronos said.

"Krow..." Kesia said.

"Yeah, I know. Hey Mizik, you can't just leave those things to wander around down here unattended. That's dangerous. Someone could get hurt-"

"By the gods, Kronos. Shut up. Do you seriously think I'm that irresponsible? I plan to disperse them in a few days. They're supposed to dispatch any stragglers! Leave me alone!" I growled.

He gritted his teeth in rage and I pushed past him, making sure to slam my shoulder into him as I walked by.

"Gah! Watch it!" He shouted.

"Sorry, guess I don't know my own strength."

I kept walking into the darkness. Nasumi followed closely behind and remained silent.

After a while, we eventually arrived back where we descended in the first place.

The two of us went upstairs and were met with Isabella, wearing her armor. Her helmet was currently on.

"Oh. Hey, Princess. Didn't expect you to still be here. We finished the job you asked for...well, technically I did all the work because Kronos is an idiot. I left a few undead that I summoned-"

"Wonderful! Then I can consider the job completed. Miss...what is your name? Can you verify his story?" Princess Isabella said.

"I can. He summoned several undead and they killed all the necromancers. Even their leader. He left them to patrol and clear out the tunnels of any remaining enemies. Mizik said that he would disperse them after a few days," Nasumi said.

"Great! Then since Mizik was the only one to do any work, I suppose I'll give the whole reward to him. After all, he deserves it for the way you people have tormented him. Doesn't he?"

"...How did-..."

"That was apparent to me during our first meeting. I am quite a bit more intelligent than most give me credit for."

"Now wait just a minute!" A voice said behind us.

It seemed to be Kronos and everyone else. They caught up to us.

"By the gods..." I mumbled angrily.

"Since the job is finished, the reward should be split evenly between all of us," Kronos said.

"My apologies, Sir Kronos. But did you actually read the contract I gave you?" Princess Isabella said.

"I...uh..."

"In the fourth paragraph, it explicitly states that your group will be compensated based on labor. If you do not work, you will not be paid."

"That's irrelevant. Mizik pretty much went crazy and killed everything before we had a chance to act. It wasn't our fault that-"

"Perhaps you should be a bit more proactive in the future about earning your pay. This sounds like an issue with your ability to keep up, rather than Mizik's problem."

Hah...skill issue...

Kronos looked absolutely livid.

"You know what? Fine. I'm going to rent a room at the nearby inn. When you feel like apologizing for being a jerk, you know where to find us Mizik. Come on, everyone!"

"I have nothing to apologize for. Be seeing you," I said coldly.

"Tch..."

"Nasumi, perhaps you should join us?" Mako said.

"But...I don't want to..."

"Nasumi, please... He's dangerous..." Garen said.

"By all means, let her stay and keep an eye in him. She's with us wether she likes it or not. Besides, we have to deal with-...eh...check on a disturbance nearby..." Kronos said.

"Nasumi...I will always wait for you," Mako said.

The group of them left and the only ones remaining were myself, Nasumi, the Princess, and her bodyguard.

The old man remained silent as usual.

"Mizik, please follow me to my room. I have to give you your reward," Princess Isabella said.

I began to follow her and Nasumi moved along with me.
