Chapter 242: The Dark Army

This was absolutely wonderful.

The Abyss Engine was such a fantastic device that allowed us to completely destroy divine beings with great ease.

The soldiers and elites that raised their weapons against us were dealt with swiftly as well.

I couldn't have asked for a better scenario!

And I couldn't help but smile as we utterly decimated the enemy forces.

Every time I watched Cassandra slit the throats of our enemies, poison them, impale them with daggers, or shatter their minds, I fell more in love with her.

She was so perfect...the most perfect killing machine I had ever seen! I made a mental note to reward her greatly for her hard work.

I absolutely adored her loyalty...even a small praise was enough to satisfy her.

And as she stabbed someone in the throat and threw them to the ground, she smiled at me as the blood dripped from her blade.

"You're doing an amazing job, Cassandra. Keep it up and your reward will be even greater," I said.

Her face lit up with excitement.

"YES! I WILL WORK HARD FOR MY DARLING MIZIK!!!" She said.

"She's cute...but I don't agree with putting your dick in crazy... Wow..." Michael mumbled.

"Be quiet, Michael," Leiso said.

"Vakra, are we within range of the generator, yet?" I asked.

"Almost...just a bit longer and we should be able to deal with it. Luckily, we won't be too close," Vakra said.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean? We're just hacking the generator, right?" I said.

"Hm? Who told you that? Ah, it makes no difference. The generator will be destroyed, yes," Vakra said.

Suddenly, I was starting to wonder how this device of Vakra's worked...

We continued on for a few more minutes.

Eventually, I saw legions of soldiers arriving all around us from every direction. Several more of the elite soldiers from before showed up and prepared for battle.

Then...

"Ah, wonderful timing! They'll be able to witness this firsthand. We're finally within range!" Vakra said.

"DO IT!" I shouted.

Vakra held up his hand and pressed a button on his wrist.

There was a bright flash in the distance as the facility violently exploded.

Wait...THAT DEVICE WAS A BOMB!?!?

"KEKEKEKEKEKEKEKE!!!! BEAUTIFUL!!! NOW I CAN FINALLY HAVE MY REVENGE!!!!" Vakra roared.

"YOU BASTARD! YOU MADE CASSANDRA CARRY AROUND A BOMB!?!? I THOUGHT YOU SAID IT WOULD HACK THE GENERATOR!!!" I yelled.

"I SAID NO SUCH THING! YOU MERELY ASSUMED IT WAS A HACKING DEVICE AND I NEVER CONFIRMED THAT!" Vakra shouted back.

"My darling Mizik would have been worried about me? That makes me so happy!" Cassandra said.

"THE GENERATOR!!! NOOOOO!!!" One of the soldiers shouted despairingly.

And as soon as the explosion cleared, the sky flashed as the barrier faded.

Then...things got truly interesting.

A horrifyingly oppressive aura fell onto the entire realm.

Black Void Eyes began opening all across the sky in rapid succession.

There were thousands of them...maybe tens of thousands...

Had we not been allies...I would have been terrified. Or just pissed.

One of the two.

"Wh-wh-what's going on!? WHAT ARE THOSE THINGS!?" A soldier cried.

A murderous smile crept onto my face.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! BEHOLD, MY REVENGE!!! DIE SCREAMING, PEOPLE OF EXCELSIS!!! KILL THEM ALL!!! BURN IT DOWN!!!!" I roared.

"And that...would be our backup..." Vakra said.

Suddenly, the Void Eyes began to split open like sets of jaws.

And as the soldiers began screaming in terror, a barrage of dark Corrupted forms began shooting out of the eyes in rapid fire.

Once they impacted the ground, they took form.

Humanoids, behemoths, deathwings, serpents, gigantic spider-like forms, titans, dragons, and the like.

They rose up and began creating utter chaos everywhere.

Nearby, I saw eight generals rise up.

The Overlords had also arrived.

I never saw Tyranus or Arvild again, but I assumed that they had also been sent in.

Then the ground quaked as a gigantic, smiling black dragon flew overhead.

"GRRRRRAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!! MY LORD HAS GIVEN ME A FEAST!!!" The shadow dragon roared.

And in the distance, near where Johann and Iris we're fighting, I saw a massive fireball land with a mighty explosion.

It truly looked like an apocalyptic scene.

Everything had worked so flawlessly.

I was overjoyed.

As the Corrupted abominations began slaughtering and destroying everything in the entire realm, I looked back over to Vakra.

"We'll begin making our way to the temple now. Keep the Enforcers safe with the Abyss Engine. I'm going to pay the Oracle a visit," I said.

"Excellent. I will do just that. But...I will be paying her a visit of my own. She did sanction the destruction of Delvandal, after all," Vakra said.

"If there's anything left, you can have it," I said.

"Oh...there will be enough...kekekeke..."

I rolled my eyes and grabbed Cassandra by her arm. I pulled her with me and she offered no resistance.

"Ah! You're so forceful, darling!" She said happily.

Weirdo. But whatever...

Iris couldn't believe her eyes.

The facility that supposedly housed the generator violently exploded.

Moments later, black eyes began opening across the sky and firing down Corrupted soldiers everywhere.

Nearby, a fireball landed and from it, emerged Malzekad.

"I AM THE BURNING KING!!! THE ROARING INFERNO!!! ALL WILL FEAR THE FLAMES OF THE MIGHTY DEMON KING OF THE ETERNAL...UMM...FIRES!!!" Malzekad roared.

"Seriously...? I mean, it's cool, but he totally ruined it at the end! He should have rehearsed more!"

Iris rolled her eyes.

"Johann! Our backup is here!" Iris said.

"Eh...he's really weird, though..." Johann said.

"Who cares!? He's helpful!" Iris protested.

"Yeah but...my fire is better..." Johann mumbled.

"What was that?" Iris asked.

"Don't worry about it," Johann said.

"WHAT IS HAPPENING!?!? IS THIS THE DOING OF MIZIK IRATUS!?" Mazok roared.

"It is. But he's not the only one that wants to erase this horrible realm! You bastards let my world be destroyed and now you're going to pay dearly!" Iris said angrily.

"MIGHTY WARRIOR!!! I WILL BE YOUR OPPONENT!!! COME! FACE YOUR DOOM! THE INFERNO THAT RAGES WITHIN ME WILL CONSUME YOU!!! PERISH UNDER THE MIGHT OF MY-"

"WILL YOU PLEASE SHUT UP!?" Mazok yelled.

Immediately, a pillar of flame erupted from below Mazok that nearly incinerated him.

"THAT WAS A WARNING SHOT! DO NOT INTERRUPT ME AGAIN, VILLAIN!!!" Malzekad roared.

"ME!? A VILLAIN!? YOU'RE LITERALLY A DEMON!!!" Mazok screamed.

"Hmm...actually, he's a Demon King. And his alignment is even on the positive side. It's still imbalanced, though..." Iris said.

"WHAT!? HOW DARE YOU!!! I'LL DESTROY YOU FOR THAT!!!" Mazok yelled.

"I rest my case," Iris said as she crossed her arms.

Malzekad grew wings of flame and molten metal, then flew into the air.

"I WILL NOT BE IGNORED!!!!" He roared.

"Woah. Those are some really cool wings!" Iris said.

Malzekad looked back at her.

"You actually think I'm cool!? YOU ARE MY NEW BEST FRIEND, SMALL LADY!!!" Malzekad said.

"I'M NOT THAT SMALL!!! AND MY NAME IS IRIS!!!"

"Ugh...my wings are better!" Johann said angrily as he flared out his wings.

"What's gotten into you, Johann!?" Iris asked.

"NOTHING! LET ME TAKE CARE OF THIS GUY!!!" Johann shouted.

He shot forward and tried to strike Mazok.

Mazok dodged and struck Johann with several bolts of lightning.

Johann wasn't phased by it and slammed Mazok in the chest with his staff.

Then he fired a barrage of lava streams at him.

"I WILL NOT BE UNDERESTIMATED!!!" Malzekad roared.

He lunged forward at Mazok as he tried to dodge Johann's assault.

Iris could already tell that Mazok wouldn't survive both of them at the same time.

"This...this cannot be happening... HOW DID THEY PLANT A BOMB ON THE GENERATOR!?!?" The Oracle screamed.

"I do not know, Oracle. But it seems as though the Corruption has come for us," Rose said.

"ABBADON! I COMMAND YOU TO GUARD THE STEPS OF MY TEMPLE! ORDER THE REMAINING FAITHFUL TO PROTECT THIS PLACE!!!" The Oracle yelled.

"The remaining faithful are dead...but-"

"WHY ARE THEY DEAD!?!? WHAT HAPPENED!?!?" The Oracle screamed in fury.

"Ugh...they we're killed by Mizik and his party. I will protect your temple with my life. If I find Mizik Iratus, I will slay him on sight!" Abbadon said.

"Damn them... I thought I told you not to bother! You will slay Rose's witch of a sister. Do not allow-"

Suddenly, the Oracle froze as she felt a presence near her.

She turned to her side and it disappeared.

"Wh-what was that!? Some kind of eye!?" Abbadon said.

Rose remained silent. She had already seen it.

Despite her unending loyalty to the Oracle, she knew that the Oracle wouldn't listen to her.

Valtheim was already watching.

Then, a black, ooze-like substance appeared on the ground.

It rose up as it sprouted many eyes and a single mouth.

When it finished forming, the mouth opened.

"Greetings...from the King of the Abyss."

"ABOMINABLE CORRUPTION!!! BEGONE WITH YOU!" The Oracle yelled.

"Your request falls upon deaf ears. We come bearing a message for the Oracle. And that message is: Please scream as loudly as possible when I come for you. Do not worry...you will not perish before you meet our Lord. Lady Valtheim is already watching you."

"SILENCE!!! I HAVE HAD IT WITH THAT CURSED NAME!!! THERE IS NO SUCH ENTITY!!!" The Oracle screamed.

Suddenly, the voice of the humanoid creature changed.

"You know, I was going to just try and creep you out. But I realize now, that since you're...you know...FUCKING RETARDED!!!! I HAVE TO SPEAK, MYSELF! My name is Cain Difar, Abyssal god of Corruption, and King of the Abyss. Valtheim is real, whether you want to believe it or not. And soon...you'll get to meet her! Now then, onto business..."

"Shall I destroy this creature, Oracle?" Rose said.

"Go for it, sweetie. But I can make infinitely more of them. Also, you had quite a bit of fun the other day with Mizik, didn't you? Honestly, I didn't know he had it in him to actually rape someone. And to think you begged for more while under his spell...PRICELESS!!! Valtheim told me everything, by the way."

Rose felt her face heat up as she lowered her head. She stared at the ground with cold, lifeless eyes.

The shame she felt was still too real...

"Abominable monster. I DEMAND YOU TO LEAVE THIS SACRED PLACE AT ONCE!!!" The Oracle shouted.

"WHY!? BECAUSE YOU ORDERED ME TO!? GET REAL, YOU OLD HAG! I'M NOT GOING ANYWHERE!!! My forces Are currently engaging yours all over the place. Infecting and destroying everything in their path! If you want to save Excelsis, then...ONLY YOU CAN STOP ME!!! FROM NOW ON, YOU GET TO BE THE CHOSEN HERO, ORACLE!!! GAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! GOOD LUCK, STUPID BITCH!!!"

Then the creature disappeared.

"By the Creator..." Abbadon said.

The Oracle gritted her teeth in rage.

"I am going to request intervention from the Creator. Hopefully, He will respond, this time..." The Oracle said.

She froze in place again as she felt something staring into her very soul from behind.

The Oracle turned and found nothing... Once again.

"Abbadon, guard the stairway outside of this part of the temple. Rose...stay by my side," the Oracle ordered.

"Y-yes Oracle..." Abbadon said.

His voice was somewhat shaky, but he seemed ready to do battle at any moment.

Rose simply nodded and took up a position in front of the throne.

Unknown to the Oracle, she could already feel the presence of Mizik Iratus approaching.
