Ruined Land of Gods

With Zila taking on the responsibility to take them all, it didn't even take the group a few minutes to reach the Ruined Land of Gods.

"Distance truly doesn't matter when you're with a Kun Peng."

Grinning broadly in response to what Sarah said, Zila looked towards Felix to see what his expression was.

Unfortunately, all of his attention was focused on the dried and cracked ground below them, due to which Zila could only snort and look away.

The Ruined Land of Gods felt like it was in a different space from everything else around it. Because since the moment Felix was able to see the desolate land below him, he felt completely cut off from any kind of Dao or Qi.

It was highly likely that inside the boundaries of the Ruined Land of Gods, no normal individual could use any kind of Dao or Qi.

Noticing this Felix felt a little sceptical about whether the land could be revitalized by just using a single Dao Root.

"You don't have to worry, Master. The Dao Root you have should definitely be enough to make this land usable."

Nodding his head, Felix took out the Dao Root which had been with him for a very long time, and handed it to Sarah.

Taking the black coloured Dao Root which had a golden lustre to it, Sarah took a deep breath and said, "Indeed, this Dao Root is more than enough for your current needs, Felix. If my guess is right this Dao Root has been nurtured for many long years with a great number of resources."

Saying so, Sarah flew downwards while the remaining three followed behind her to see what would happen next.

Once Sarah reached the ground, she placed her palm against the land and closed her eyes. After a few seconds, she opened her eyes, and began moving in a certain direction.

Finally, she stopped at a particular spot which looked to be the centre of the Ruined Land of Gods, and said, "This is it. Help me dig here, Maria."

In response to Sarah who drew an x on the dried up ground which had turned into sand, Maria controlled her tales to stretch high into the air, followed by which they were covered in the Dao of Destruction as they rushed towards the x.

Piercing through the floor like a hot knife through butter, Maria's tails showed no signs of stopping as they continuously dug deeper by the second.

Finally, Maria stopped all of a sudden, and said, "I found it."

Understanding that the 'it' Maria mentioned was, Sarah waited until Maria pulled all of her tails out of the hole and then jumped inside it.

Behind Sarah, the other three also jumped in since their curiosity had reached the extreme, and they wanted to see how the so called Dao Root revitalization would work.

While it didn't look too deep on the outside, the hole was at least a few thousand feet long, with what looked like a lot of interconnected roots at the bottom of it.

When Sarah lit up the darkness by forming fire out of nowhere, everyone could see a dried up and shrivelled huge lump inside the ground, and from it, there were millions of small vein-like structures spread in all directions through the ground.

Not wasting too long, Sarah used her fingers to cut all the connections from the shrivelled Dao Root, and then pulled it out of the ground.

In its place, she put the golden coloured Dao Root in her hand.

Even before Sarah turned around and threw the shrivelled Dao Root away, at a speed visible to the eyes, the veins which had been just cut started growing fast and began connecting themselves to the new Dao Root.

Once they did so, the dried-up roots all began surging with vitality, causing them to turn pulse and turn bigger.

"It's done, Felix. Now all you need to do is wait, and this land will once again become the Land of Gods."

"That was faster and easier than I expected."

With nothing else to do inside the hole, the four of them went back up to the surface just in time to see the first patch of green grass sprouting right beside the hole.

"Should we cover up the hole, Sarah?"

"Hmmm.... Normally a Dao Root is used to nourish the whole land below an Empire, but since you plan to build only a single city, and the Land of Gods isn't very big, I suggest you don't close the hole. Instead, build your palace on top of it."

Generally, Dao Roots are too rare for ant individual Empire to use one for everyone city inside it, therefore they don't create any holes from it and lead excess amount of Dao to concentrate in a single spot.

After all, if they hogged too much of the Dao from the Dao Root in a single space, there won't be enough to cover the rest of the Empire in. 

However, since Felix's idea of an Empire was having one magnanimous city, he could splurge and build as many tunnels as he wanted to and enjoy the greatness of the Dao Root directly.

"I see."

Nodding his head after listening to Sarah's explanation, Felix saw that almost half of the land was now covered in grass, and he could feel Dao in the atmosphere around him.

Though not as much as he did in the Ethereal Dao College, Felix could feel the increase of concentration in Dao around him continuously.

And maybe it wouldn't be long before it surpasses the Mountains of Dao and becomes the best location in the Dao Realm to comprehend Dao at.
