The hundred-meter dash event started with the signal of a teacher. The contestants quickly jumped out from their crouching position into a running burst. All of them were neck and neck in the earlier part of the race. But as they reached almost halfway of the race, gaps started to form.
The student from 2-A started to lead the race and made a wide margin against the others. It was almost assured that class 2-A would win. But in second place, Angelie and Kirei battled it out.
Neither of the two gave up, even as they saw their gap widen from the one in the lead. Kirei kept on glancing toward Angelie as she made sure to keep pace with her rival. Even as the student from 2-A crossed the finish line, Angelie and Kirei kept up their pace.
