Heidi In Trouble!

The night crept up on them and so did the creature of the night. Heidi said her farewell to Ronnell as she managed to squeeze as much information as possible from her.

But it wasn't enough, this was not nearly enough but now the sun was down so she could continue her task at hand.

She knew that Dante was there but she was yet to make contact with him, it was almost like he was avoiding her and she knew not to bother him, all she needed to do right now was be available.

Heidi walked on the dark streets, the road was almost deserted, and there were only a few people in sight. This was interesting considering it was barely after dark.

But she didn't care much about this, she knew she had a mission to do, she couldn't fail because it came with such a heavy reward.

Heidi noticed humans in this generation was a lot different from past centuries as the older the century got, the less layer of clothes they wore.

Heidi knew she would be dead without Dante because she had made quite several enemies prior.

She wasn't always as well-behaved as she is now.

Heidi knew she needed to find Scarlett but unknown to her, Dante had already met her, he didn't need her anymore. She needed his blood, she was tired of hiding in the shadows like some thief.

"What is this smell?" Heidi thought; it was without a doubt the smell of blood.

Heidi knew that whoever was responsible for these turnings might be responsible but she was not a strong vampire when it came to combat; she was stronger than newborn vampires, that's for sure.

This had brought the attention of the vampire hunters on them, they knew that they couldn't leave it untouched or it would prove detrimental to their way of life and her master had found a girl he could use to keep himself entertained throughout her natural life or whenever he got bored.

This meant that Dante had no intentions of relocating as he did in the past, he knew he was immortal and that was the thing with immortality, time was his friend hence he could easily sleep for centuries without repercussions, Dante did that often and this was why he was still regarded as a myth, it was because of his absence in the world itself.

The vampire hunters coined the story that what occurred was because of a virus that had found its way there, this virus causes hallucinations or delusions making the officer that was there doubt his own memories but he chose to believe this story for the sake of his sanity, but this meant one thing.

The vampire hunters were about to gather in Arizona.

Heidi took it upon herself to check the source of the blood, she went there and saw two people bent over a body as they fed.

They had sensitive ears so they heard Heidi after she had walked a certain distance, they jerked their head in her direction.

"W-We didn't mean to kill him…" Man #1 said with tears in his eyes, blood dripping down his chin.

"We were just so hungry!" Man #2 said.

Heidi understood their hunger, these were newborns but what were newborns doing here?

Did that mean the person responsible was around?

Heidi had no intention of finding out but she also couldn't leave them to their own devices so she was conflicted.

Heidi had to kill them and put them out of their misery but fighting two at once might prove to be a problem because she didn't know what kind of skills they had as humans as she has been injured by newborns in the past as she has fought warriors that became vampires, they had the edge as the difference in strength didn't make much of a difference.

The men began to look at her perversely, eyeing her up and down with their mouths watering.

Heidi has seen this way too many times and once used her sex appeal to survive and live a quiet life before the day she met her demise so she knew about this side of men first hand but never did she allow anyone to violate her and she wasn't going to start now.

She braced herself, gulping as she took a couple of steps back in case things went out of hand, she could retreat. It was disgraceful, to say the least, that she was that old but never acquired the skill for self-preservation but one could say it was all because of Dante that she could not kill these vampires.

Dante had a rule, he chose to live life secluded from the world and Heidi was to follow this principle as well.

If she began killing everyone that wanted to sleep with her, she would never run out of bodies.

"W-We just want to talk, you don't need to be so afraid…" Man #1 pleaded but Heidi knew he was full of shit as she kept backing up.

She knew that she could outrun them if need be, but she might lead them into more humans.

But Heidi was so lost in her thought that she didn't perceive the third one that was standing right behind her. He immediately grabbed her in a chokehold and the other two vampires saw an opportunity to lunge at her but Heidi landed a kick right into the first man's jaw, sending him crashing into the second man.

She tried to break the hold but she had luck, that was the problem with chokeholds, even the smallest person could choke out a giant if the technique was sufficient.

"Sleep! We will be done by the time you wake up!" The muscular man choking her joked sickeningly.

Heidi felt herself losing consciousness but her eyes soon widened in horror after hearing a voice she both admired and feared at the same time.

"What is going on here, Heidi?" This voice, it was Dante's voice!
