The Strongest & The Guardian

The others arrived after the final blows and instantly Alsian started some basic healing spells with the help of the others, "Why don't you just rewind their wounds?" Markar asked loudly.

"Although I am good at Chronomancy, I am no grand master. I can rewind the most pressing wounds without issue, but the more I rewind the bigger the risk that I rewind all their progress in this fight."

"A fight like this where they are pushed to their limit, that is when the fire of life advances you the most. I don't want to risk rewinding that." Alsian admitted.

"Huh... I never thought about that when it came to chronomancy! It shows that even if it is powerful, it's also a very risky magic." Markar nodded as he started manipulating the blood inside the unconscious peoples bodies.

"I suppose I should be careful as well, and only speed up the natural healing in their bodies with my blood art... Just in case!"

Tyklion took a deep breath and slowly raised his arm that had blocked most of the purple energy, the armor around the arm had been completely vaporized and his arm was completely burned and charred.

"Next time I won't be holding back..." He whispered and looked at Samuel, "Finally an opponent that I can enjoy a battle with!" A mad grin was spread on his face, but no one could see it because of his helmet.

A short while had passed and Tyklion had told everyone to go ahead without him, he squinted his eyes within his helmet and looked up. "Are you going to come out? Or do I need to force you out of there?" He aimed his halberd at the ceiling.

This entire time there had been one additional spectator watching without the knowledge of anyone, or so he had thought. Bright had just turned his attention elsewhere when he heard those words and turned around.

It took him a few moments to realize that Tyklion was pointing his weapon directly at him, he thought he was hidden enough that he didn't need to hide his presence any more than he already was.

A great white wolf descended and sat down in front of Tyklion and with a raised head looked at him from above. "I am impressed that you can see me! I didn't think there was a mortal man so powerful, you were holding back quite a bit in other words!"

Tyklion kept staring in silence and the two locked eyes. "The shepard of the white moon!" Tyklion broke the silence but kept aiming his halberd at the wolf. "That is who you are is it not?"

Bright taken a back by this stopped staring and looked confused while taking almost asuming a thinking pose as a wolf, "I didn't think there would be anyone that knew about my existence! I did try to keep it quite hidden after all!"

"That makes two of us!" Tyklion responded, "We don't go around flaunting our powers, but when we do... We make sure to not leave harmful traces!"

Bright nodded in agreement and then snapped two of his wolf fingers, "So what now? You could see me.. Do you wish to fight me?"

Tyklion relaxed his halberd and put it to rest with a slam into the ground and simply stood there holding onto the weapon, "I am pretty sure I would lose against a god! But I would love to fight you, however there are some people that would be angry about the destruction I would cause!"

Bright nodded, "Yes! That is fair. But your true strength is nothing to laugh at, I am fairly certain you could defeat any of the lesser gods and many of the newer ones!"

Bright started walking away but quickly turned around in his curiosity. "How is it that you knew whom I was?" His question didn't faze Tyklion, then again Tyklion was known for being stone faced most of the time. Which was why everyone had reacted more at his reaction to being surprised by Samuel in the fight.

"My family has passed down many treasures and secrets through the ages, I am one of many mortal guardians of many bloodlines! There are plenty of old runemaking of a white wolf!" Tyklion started walking forward with heavy footsteps but left his weapon and took of his helmet while walking.

A fresh burned scar that looked like a lightning rod was carved over the left side of his face, still slightly purple in color. It didn't seem to bother him in the least of course. "How old are these runes?" Bright asked.

"Thousands of years... A white wolf with a plain light blue dot behind it." Tyklion started explaining how it looked like as best he could remember.

Bright's ears perked up and he started chuckling, "My powers have not waned over thousands of years of slumber, an ancient rune is still around explaining some of it."

"The Teal Dot behind the wolf is what one should really fear if one has any sense of self preservation!" Bright turned and stared once more into Tyklions eyes. "Yes you will do, you can handle it... The information, the information I will give you, I wish for you to tell the ones that you just sparred with, when they are ready!"

Tyklion looked a bit confused, even if just for a few seconds. Getting knowledge from a god was something extremely rare.

"Our part of the cosmos came into being when three ancient creatures pooled their powers together! The Brother of Order, The Brother of Chaos and The Sister of Mana. Known as the Mother of Mana to the children of mana, being their original creator and all." Bright waved his paw as if it wasn't anything important to the subject.

"Our part of the cosmos?" Tyklion repeated as a question.

"Exactly, thousands of years ago a thing of great magic happened, call it different dimensions or whatever, the veil that protected every reality from interfering with one another was broken."

"Scientists from one dimension called it a 'Second Big Boom' or maybe it was bang, who cares!" Bright shrugged and continued, "In our dimension it was known as the great Mana disaster, in another it was the Great Rift between Planes."

"I have come to realize that in each dimension, something of great importance happened at the exact same time, something that didn't just weaken the veil but shattered it completely."

"Our part of the cosmos is the part that existed before it happened, what lies outside what we created though... Is the many planets and worlds from the other dimensions!"

Tyklion rubbed his eyebrow, "So are you getting anywhere with this?" Bright just held up a finger and smiled. "The Brother of Order and The Brother of Chaos created many gods to help rule and oversee their great creation. Those gods in turn created gods and then those gods created gods."

"The last set of gods are the ones that serve planet by planet, like the ones that serve this world we are on right now!" Bright looked up at the ceiling and to Tyklion's surprise there was only stars above them.

Bright pointed towards those stars, "However far out there... Are worlds were gods and magic never existed before that great shift... While in some, gods were the mystical manifestations of things like fate and destiny."

Tyklion looked at all the millions of stars and started noticing a pattern. "The Dot!" He grit his teeth and looked at Bright that smiled before giving his answer, "Godhood can be attained by mortals of this world, but generally that means attaining it through the laws and rules of the gods that rule our part of the cosmos!"

Bright stretched out his arms and grew exponentially in size and with a deep guttural speech he spoke, "But in some cases like mine, you are gifted godhood from a being far greater than those of our cosmos."

"I am a god, whose powers originate from outside of our cosmos! I was granted my powers by the protector of all Stars and Moons, the protector of life and balance! The God of The Bright Moon."

Tyklion folded his arms, "Cool, yeah thats great and all but what does that haveto do with anything?" His words made Bright quickly shrink down to his original size.

"I apologize, I can get a bit frantic when speaking of him... Because he is just such an amazing being! Case on point, the gods of this world are not really allowed to interfere. But I am!"

"Although my lord wanted me to follow a simillar pattern of not interfering too much either, my awakening can only mean one thing!" Bright once more looked to the stars and slowly many of them were consumed by red and purple flames.

Tyklion looked on in awe before realizing exactly what it was. He had fought with them many a times, "Chaos... The Abyss!"

"The infinite void of the abyss, the infinite hunger of chaos to consume everything. It is returning, and not just here!" Bright sighed and looked to the stars returning to their former natural color.

But then he smiled once more, "But if my power is still here, that means the one who gave me my powers are also still here! If he is here then he might come find me very soon... It doesn't matter if it is chaos itself or the gods of our cosmos that try to interfere with him! He is strong enough to deal with any of them!"

Bright looked proud while Tyklion sighed, "If he is so great and powerful then why doesn't he just use his powers to deal with chaos permanently?" To which Bright shook his head.

"Even he needs to follow laws. Besides, he is half mortal."

Those words did shock Tyklion that took a step back, "Half mortal? How the hell can a half mortal be stronger than one of the creators of these cosmos, no less one of the lower full gods?"

Bright faded out into tiny stars that slowly started journeying somewhere else but left Tyklion with a smile, "The same rules and laws that apply in our dimension, did not in the one he came from. Many mortals stand at the same strength as gods without being actual gods in his dimension of origin."

Tyklion was then left with a hall that had returned to normal light and wondered just what the hell was coming that even Chaos itself would be wary of.
