Chapter 33
When he checked the other rooms he discovered that what he’d seen in the roulette area held true everywhere—human employees and shifter guards who kept a watchful eye on everything. Once, he saw one of the guards approach a man at a craps table, taking him aside to speak quietly with him. Then he escorted the man out of the casino, much to the man’s obvious dismay. Cheaters never win, and winners never cheat. He chuckled at that truism, wondering how his brother had managed to fool the people at the casino where he’d ‘won’, a euphuism, enough money to have Vicario on a manhunt to find him.
Eventually, he went in search of Edan, who was no longer at the roulette table. He found him sitting at the bar, chatting up the female bartender. Sliding onto the stool next to him, he put his arm around Edan’s shoulders, asking, “Having fun?”
“Talking to a lovely woman is always fun, lover,” Edan replied with a wink. “I suppose the fact you found me means it’s time to leave.”
