Chapter 21

When Carlyle's voice faded away, Kathrine opened her eyes to find herself in her room. The soft glow of morning light seeped through the curtains.

"Kathrine, are you awake?" called Tierney from outside her room.

"Yes, Mom. I'll be right out," replied Kathrine, stretching as she got out of bed.

"How did you sleep?" Tierney inquired as Kathrine entered the dining room.

"Good, I think," Kathrine replied, making her way to the table. "I had the weirdest dream."

"Oh, what was it?" asked Thomas, lifting his head from the couch.

"It felt real," Kathrine said, looking at her uncle. "I was having a conversation with someone in my dream."

"About what?" Tierney asked as she placed a plate of food down next to Kathrine.

"About different stuff," Kathrine said with a smile.

"What are we talking about?" Kristen joined the conversation as she walked into the dining room.

"About Kathrine's dream," Thomas explained, standing up from the couch.

"Oh, was it about a boy?" Kristen teased as she sat down next to Kathrine.

"Yes," Kathrine replied with a laugh.

"Are you guys having breakfast without us?" Niall entered with Courtney into the dining room.

"No," Tierney assured, placing more food on the table. "Breakfast just got down."

"Hell yes, I'm starving," Niall exclaimed as he sat down at the table.

"So, what's this about a boy?" Courtney asked, settling down next to Niall.

"Kathrine is dreaming about a boy," Kristen chimed in with a smile.

"No, I had a conversation with a boy," Kathrine corrected, glaring at Kristen.

"Oh, sorry," Kristen apologized, throwing her arms up.

"Did you get his name?" Courtney asked with a mouth full of food.

"Yes, I did," Kathrine said with a laugh. "Courtney, eat the food in your mouth before speaking."

"So, what's his name?" Niall asked, grabbing a glass of juice.

"His name was Carlyle," Kathrine replied. As she mentioned his name, Tierney dropped a glass on the floor. All eyes turned to where she stood, waiting to see what had fallen.

"Are you okay, Mom?" Kathrine broke the silence.

"Yes, I am," Tierney said with shock in her voice. "It just slipped out of my hands."

"That's good," Kathrine said with a smile.

"So, what did you guys talk about?" Kristen asked.

"He said that Victor has him locked up," Kathrine said, looking at Kristen.

"Are you saying that the person you talked to knows Victor?" Niall asked, shock evident in his voice.

"Yes, I am," Kathrine confirmed. "And I think he is the light power we are looking for."

"How do you know that?" Courtney asked, looking at Kathrine.

"He told me he has light powers," Kathrine explained. "And Victor has him."

"So, the light person is with Victor," Thomas mused as he finally got off the couch. "And the light power is what we are looking for."

"He also said that there are two of the Bay twins there," Kathrine added. "And there is also a Mr. Tempest too."

"The Bay Twins," Tierney said, a hint of amusement in her voice. "This will be fun."

"We definitely get to see Tempest," Thomas grinned. "So yes, this is going to be fun."

"Who are the Bay Twins and Mr. Tempest?" Courtney asked. "And how is this going to be fun?"

"Yeah, I'm confused," added Kristen.

"Okay, the Bay Twins are six troublesome individuals," Thomas explained. "Two of them are dead."

"Okay," said Niall. "And what are their names?"

"There is Jessie Bay, who died fifteen years ago, Bill Bay, Ryan Bay, Justin Bay, Karen Bay, and Ariel Bay, who died a few days ago," Tierney listed.

"So, how did the two twins die?" Kristen asked with curiosity.

"Jessie died by me," Selena said, looking at her daughter.

"Wow," said Kristen.

"And Ariel died by me," Thomas added as he walked over to Tierney.

"Damn, you guys are badasses," Niall commented with a smile. "And who is Mr. Tempest?"

"He is one of the strongest Enchanters," Thomas explained. "He manifests Dragon powers."

"Holy shit," said Niall in shock. "Is there anyone else with cool powers?"

"Yes, there is," Tierney said. "But most are all dead, except Mr. Tempest's wife, Abigale Tempest, who manifests Phoenix power."

"Damn," said Courtney with a laugh.

"So now we know that Carlyle is the one we are looking for," said Niall. "But how did you guys talk in your dream?"

"I don't know. It was like I was there, but I couldn't see anything. It was all dark," Kathrine explained.

"That's weird," Kristen remarked as she walked back to the table to put her plate in the sink. "Maybe your powers are connected."

"What do you mean?" Kathrine asked, looking at Kristen.

"Your powers are light and dark," Kristen explained as she walked back to the table. "You guys are equals."

"That is true," said Thomas. "Light and dark equal each other. It's a lot like balance."

"Okay, so we need to find him before Victor does something to him," Tierney said as she grabbed the plates from the table. "We need to leave today."

"Are we even ready?" Courtney asked as she, too, helped Tierney with the plates.

"Yes, you guys are," said Thomas with a smile. "The best way of learning faster is by fighting your enemies."

"So get ready; we leave in an hour," said Tierney. After an hour had passed, everyone gathered in the living room.

"So, let's see. We need some magic," said Thomas with a smile.

"What do you mean we need magic?" questioned Kathrine.

"We need you guys to have your weapons with you," explained Thomas as he lifted his hand. "You guys don't have magic storage."

"So, we are going to get you guys what you need," said Tierney with a smile, just as Thomas pulled out a duffle bag.

"Let's see here," said Thomas as he started throwing clothes and weapon holsters into the bag. "Okay, that should be all."

"So, we have to change again?" Kristen asked as she lifted the black leather.

"No, just put them on over your clothes," Thomas instructed with a smile.

"But they are going to be too big on us," Courtney complained, her tone irritated. "Just so you know."

"When you put them on, they shrink to your size," Tierney reassured.

"But what about our clothes?" Niall questioned as he started to put on the leather-looking jumpsuit. "Won't they get in our way?"

"Nope," said Thomas with a smile. "They shrink and disappear under your clothes." Tierney lifted her shirt to show the black leather underneath. "See, I put mine on just before you guys came out."

As everyone put on their black leather jumpsuits, the material started to shrink and disappear right after they zipped it up.

"This is awesome," Niall exclaimed with a laugh.

"The jumpsuit has a power that can analyze your power and make you summon your weapon when you need it," explained Thomas with a smile. "It's just like my weapon equip but a little different."

"So, now that we are ready, what's next?" Tierney said as she started to walk to the door.

"Okay, remember, we need to stay together," Thomas reminded them as he also headed to the door.

"Okay," said everyone as they followed Tierney and Thomas. The journey was about to begin.
