Too easy

Velo woke up in a shabby hotel. He packs his things and checks out. First, he plans on going to the Frenzy gang to check out the young hunter recruitment thing. If the condition is not favorable, he will have to do an easy hunter job first and then climb the hunter rank regularly.

He walks to the hunter guild to ask where the Frenzy gang is. As he was walking down the street of the slum city he catch a glimpse of a familiar face. Velo, follow the man into an alleyway.

The man notices that a kid is following him and Velo didn't intend to hide it. The man leads him into a dark alleyway, which is common in the slum. Even if there's no law here, you don't want to cause any trouble in an open.

When he is in an isolated area, he turns around with a pistol in his hand and asks.

"Why did you foll....."

Bang! Bang! Bang!

"AHHHHHHHH!!"

A bullet cut the man's handoff. Not even letting him speak a full sentence. The man's body flips and fell on his face. The pain of losing his arm attacks him. Velo moves closer and threatens the man.

"Lead me to your gang"

"You... that pickpocket!?"

"Lead me to your gang or else pickpocket will be your last word."

"AHH!"

bang!

The man got shot again. This guy is the person who rats Velo out to his own gang. Velo remembers that and it is time for payback now that he has the power. The guy begs for his life and led Velo to his own gang.

Velo looks up and sees a familiar building. Most of his time here is him being bullied and being worked to death in the cheap nutrient pack packaging business that they run.

"Hey..... can you let me go now? I have an arm.... "

Bang!

Velo makes a hole through the man's head. The only thing he's looking for is his revenge, and the only option for them is death. After the gunshot, some people from the gang come out to check. They saw the scene right before they got shot too.

///

"Boss, there's an intruder!!!"

"Just one!!"

"Can't you guys just handle it?!"

"The intruder.....!!"

Bang! bang! Bang!

Velo shot down the gang members with ease. With only a pistol, they have no chance against his gun with a longer range and more magazine. With some clever cover and timing, Velo could get past a thing with no gun training without a problem.

Velo kicked down the door of the boss's office, surprising two bodyguards in the room. He shot down one, but the other shot back immediately after. Velo hides behind a wall and shot back.

He hears the boss asking questions while hiding behind his desk. Velo didn't care at all. He waits for the bodyguard to reload and stickers them with a quick shot.

The boss is the only one left. He beg for his life like anyone in the slum would and Velo shot him in the head for it.

That's the end of the gang. Velo felt empty. He doesn't know what to think. All his suffering with the group end here with the boss dead and all the gang members in disarray. He took his revenge, but it doesn't seem satisfying to him.

He thinks this is too easy.

After the gang annihilation, he went back to his original plan and visit the hunter guild. With a bloody cloth, he draws a lot of attention when he enters the building.

"Hello, I would like to know the detail about the Frenzy gang young hunter recruitment program."

"Um.... please wait a moment, hunter."

The receptionist taps the panel and looks back with a perplexed expression.

"According to Aim lab statistics, you are qualified for the recruitment, but you'll properly be disqualified because of the murder record of 33 people. "

".....How did you know that?"

"Sigh.... the hunter terminal will automatically record any battle, even if it's just a fistfight. This allows us to gain more information and you to gain more credibility. You can turn the auto-record function off in the setting"

"Oh...OK"

His plan went up in flames in a matter of a second. He has no backup plans for the evening. Seeing that the kid looked lost, the receptionist suggest.

"Maybe you can do a patrol job?"

"What's that?"

The girl explains that in order to not get overrun by the wasteland monster, the O'ruma city management cooperates with the hunter's guild to let hunters take on patrol jobs.

This way hunters could earn money from a simple job and city management could cut down the cost by using hunters.

The inner city manages the patrol request. They have their own car and shift. The only thing you have to do is get on the truck and shoot a monster if you see one. This request has a base reward of 2500 tels plus the reward from the monster you killed.

Most beginner hunters have accepted this job before because this is the safest job you'll find as a hunter that gives you a decent reward. Velo, accept this job and thank the receptionist for the recommendation.

Walking in the slums, he could hear a commotion about the recently disband gangs. They got brutally slaughtered by a veteran hunter. The people talking cruse and laugh at the downfall of the gang.

It happened a lot where gangs pissed off a veteran hunter and got wiped out the next day. This happened so often that they have a betting on which gang would fall next.

The building Velo head to is an enormous facility in the slum. It stands out as the receptionist says, with the inner walls aesthetic of slightly futuristic and clean-cut walls of the building.

The guard at the front of the building asks for a certification and Velo hands over his terminal. The guard plugs it into his information panel and lets him pass.

Inside the facility is a spacious place with people buzzing around. This place is not only a patrol center but also a huge mall with a lot of different shops. To the Slum city, this is the closest they'll get to an inner walls life.

Velo, look around in awe he had never seen so many hunters and inner walls civilians in his life. While looking around, he spots a stall that sells the sandwich. It pique his interest because it was the first time he saw real food that hadn't been processed.

He walks up and gulps. The price of one piece of pork sandwich is 6000 tels. What you will get for that price is a two-piece of triangular bread and a slice of pork meat in the middle company with some tomatoes and lettuce.

He has seen none of this before but heard that someone in the slum bought three of these and get shot.
