All the setup is done. Velo and Rex ready their weapon. A glass sheet separates them. Rex was using the same rifle that Velo own to make the duel fair.

"The match will start in 3...2....1 GO!"

The match started slowly with a target appearing now by both competitors. It slowly slides across while Velo shoots at it.

But as time goes on the target gets faster and faster. Both of them haven't missed a single target and Rex started to get nervous.

'Why is he this good?'

Rex loses focus and misses his shot. The moment that happen his target got shot down. Rex was surprised. He turns his head to look at Velo. The kid is still shooting with an emotionless expression.

Taking down every target that comes his way. Something lightly dissatisfied Velo with the way his body reacts. The reset from the Chronus project also reset his body and his shooting is a little slower than he expected.

The match goes on for 1 minute and round 1 finishes with a score of 133 to 107, with Velo taking the lead. Rex was furious at the result he try to come up with an explanation for how a kid that looks 12 years old beat him.

The game was the best of 5, so Rex have a chance to win. Maybe the round earlier was Velo's best round, and all of that was a fluke.

Round two starts. Everything proceeds as normal until the 1-minute mark. Velo starts shooting not only at his target but also at Rex's. Rex tries to counter and shoots at Velo's target, but he's not fast enough.

'Is he a Cyborg?"

Cyborgs is a people who replace their bodies with mechanical parts. This type of person can customize their bodies however they want to look. That's why Rex suspects that Velo is one of them.

Round 2 ends with a wider gap of 145 to 95. The result frustrated Rex. it's not like he can't keep his cool while shooting but the ability of the kid is just too much. When Rex looks over at Velo, he's just baffled by how focused he is.

It looks like Velo is in his own world where the only things that matter are his gun and the target. Seeing that Rex just knows that he can't win.

"I concede."

"Oh, ya giving up this early, Rex?"

"Well, seeing the kid, I really have no chance of winning. Hey, I'm Rex. Kid, what's your name?"

"I'm Velo"

"Velo, are you from inner walls or a Cyborg"

The first suspicion puzzled Velo. His clothing doesn't suggest that he come from there and a kid around 12 years old wouldn't be buying a cheap gun in the slum. The perplexing emotion on Velo's face prompt Rex to speak.

"Well, first your name is like inner walls people's name. Lately, they have been coming up with weird names, like Ammoba or Gracko, but judging by your reaction, it seems like I'm wrong. But are you a cyborg?"

"No... I'm not one of them"

"Wow, so this is a real genius then huh."

The sudden change of attitude was not something new to Velo. He sees it all the time when a cocky guy switches to begging for his life but he never sees someone switch from being an asshole to being a reasonable person.

"Anyway, It's lunchtime now I gotta go. See you later!"

And he left just like that. It leaves Velo baffled by how quickly things escalate.

"Don't mind him too much. He's a regular of mine. His mood swing is rather wild but his skill is real. I'm surprised that you won that, to be honest."

"What made him so pissed then?"

"From what I heard he had to babysit young hunters in his gang."

"Only just from that?"

"Well, I also heard that he hates the young hunter guts."

"Why does he have to babysit young hunters?"

The shop owner explains that it's a common practice to have a veteran hunter babysit a new or a young hunter that just join the gang. To show them the ropes and reduce the death rate of new hunters. Often time veteran hunters would be paid handsomely for this, either by their gang or a contract.

This program mostly exists in a high-tier gang where they have some sort of connection to the inner walls. Most gang that gets big have some sort of connection to inner walls since it's convenient to have people inside.

There are only 2 hunter gangs in slum city that currently have a connection to the inner walls, Frenzy and Adamantium. These two have been competing against each other for Relic and ruin expedition for a long time but lately, Frenzy is trying to win the long game by pushing for the Yong hunter program.

Where they loan expensive equipment to young and inexperienced hunters and have them be taught by veterans. This creates a lot of tension between young and veteran hunters because of the massive resource that got allocated.

It's basically getting to infighting with some veterans leaving because of the lack of resources. And because the gangs are mostly run by inner walls people they don't see a clear picture.

Velo is fascinated by how the gang is run because most gangs are just people that get together and elect a boss. This will create a hierarchy and make the gangs safer with more people. They also have a huge profit from staying together which is intimidation.

They will scare away or recruit new people by having big numbers. Often time these gangs will just get disbanded because they don't know how to control the people. Then a new gang will replace them the next day.

"Here're the Fassa. I'll give them for free and as a bonus, I'll throw in some ammo for ya! Just make sure to purchase ya goods from me. I mostly sell guns but you can still order an augment suit from me. I have a special price from a connection. Oh by the way my name's Willaim. Most people call me old will for some reason"

"Ok, Thank you old will I'll stop by if I need some ammo."

Velo was grateful. He manages to get a lot of information from Old will and a free gun. Velo thinks that he needs to pay back his kindness somehow.

He also bought a new set of wasteland couth. It's lookalike a soldier outfit with a slightly cream color to blend in with a hot wasteland. It's designed to be worn in a hot wasteland and ruin expedition.

Lastly, he bought a rucksack to carry all his stuff it's a bag as tall as half of his total height. He put his gun and ammo supply in the said bag. In total it cost 240,000 tels. It's a blessing that he got the gun and ammo for free otherwise he won't be able to afford all this.

After he packs his stuff and left the shop. Looking for a hotel he plans to just stay in the hotel for the rest of the day. He ends up with a hotel called Slummy which cost 3000 tels a night. He settles in and relaxes on the bed. It's a lot harder than the bed at the Dumo tower but it's better than a cold hard sheet of metal.
