CHAPTER 4 TIGER

His Grandpa seems very agitated at the moment, Shadow cannot blame him, after all, it was his dream for all his life and now that he is dying, left only with a little over ten years, he is feeling emotional.

"Right, Shadow, let us commence the operation to look for them!" He shouts with excitement.

"All the villagers, I will now give you an order-" Before his grandpa finishes what he is announcing, Shadow stops him.

"Wait, grandpa you should think more carefully, send only the able ones and don't make them travel too far from the village, even though, the forest seems harmless but it is actually the opposite." His tone is solemn.

His grandpa was enlightened, because he was agitated earlier, he didn't think about anything else, other than evolving the village into a Basic Village.

"Umm, Lord Rey, What should we do now?"

The new villagers seem nervous asking Shadow's grandpa but it feels a little weird for him, he was used to being called the village chief.

"All of you have traveled far, all of you must be exhausted, you can just live in the servants area on the mansion in the meantime, while, we build new houses for you and our future residents."

They all nodded and left with a servant from the mansion, the village doesn't have extra houses for now because the number of villagers didn't drastically rise during these few years, in fact, it was the opposite, the number of deaths has only increased.

"Grandpa, stay here and settle everything down first, Ban, Lou Yan and I will search if there are nearby wanderers." Shadow states.

His grandpa agrees but still seems worried, every time the three of them venture to the forest, he has always been wrack with anxiety.

"The three of you, please be careful" he advises with a weak but kind smile.

"Grandpa don't be worried, we got Glutton, so we can avoid danger much better than all the villagers here, we might be even much better than you." He says this in a joking manner but he actually believes this.

After hearing what his grandson said, Rey's worries seem to be lessened, Glutton's perception of danger is so great that, it might be twice better than his.

Shadow leaves to take Glutton, to see if he finally levels up successfully.

When he got home, he went straight to his room and searched for Glutton, he saw it was snoring but he was now at LEVEL 9.

"Wake up! You sleepyhead! We are going on a mission." He mischievously sneaks near him and shouts.

Glutton's ears straighten and look at him, then, barks happily.

"I know, I know you are happy that you level up, if you want, we can test your newfound strength." Rubbing his partner's head, he smiles as he speaks with him.

Glutton got even more excited, he pounced on him and started licking his face.

"Okay, enough playing around, lets invite those 2 numbskulls." Shadow helplessly smiles.

First, Shadow goes to Ban's home, they were best friends because they had known each other since they were children, also, Ban's older sister works for his grandpa just like a secretary.

Ban's family is one of the well off family in this village, his father was like a brother to Shadow's dad but just like him, he died, it was in a beast tide.

Arriving at his friend's house, he immediately shouts "Ban! Come out, We have an important mission!"

"Wait! Just wait! I just woke up you know!!!" Ban complains loudly.

"Okay, then, get ready, let's meet at the rendezvous point, I need to invite Lou Yan too!" He actually knows that this might be the case for his friend.

Shadow sped off to a nearby house. This house belongs to Lou Yan, only two people are living here, the other one is his little sister.

"Yo, Lou Yan, We have an important mission today, hurry up on the rendezvous point!" He shouts.

"What mission is it?" Lou Yan comes out with a clothing that seems to be an apron.

"A mission that can help improve this village into a proper village." He smiles in confidence.

"WHATTTT!!??!?!! Just wait for me! I will be done in a second!" He quickly returns back inside the house.

"Please bring little Mei to the mansion first! lets meet at the rendezvous point." Now that he has informed the last one, he leaves.

"Right, meet you there!" Lou Yan shouts but his friend is already gone.

Shadow then speeds off with Glutton and waits for them on the rendezvous point. After a couple of minutes Ban and Lou Yan arrive.

"Hey, Aniki, this Fat pig didn't believe that our mission involves making our village into a proper Basic Village." Lou Yan angrily says.

"Yeah right, How can the chief give us such an important mission?" He mocks.

"Ban, you don't have to say anything anymore, what Lou Yan has said was true." Shadow laughs lightly and says.

"What the?! ...., Then, What are we going to do" even though, Ban said this calmly, he was agitated, after all, even Shadow''s great great grandfathers couldn't accomplish building a Basic Village.

Shadow of course knew how excited these two are, even him, dreams to be a leader of a proper village.

"We need to find wanderers in the forest." He shares with them their current objective.

"Wanderers?" Both Ban and Lou Yan asked at the same time.

"Yes, just today, there were a bunch of people that came into the village, they sought refuge and they said there were still others wandering around the forest."

The two of them were enlightened.

"Now, lets go and fulfill our mission that will forever be recorded in the history of this village." Shadow raises his hand and shouts.

The two shouted excitedly and the three of them ran to the forest.

While traversing the forest they heard a shout.

"Help!! Please Help!"

The three of them look at each other, after a moment of silence, all of them run towards the direction of the cries of help.

They saw 4 Grown men fighting a BRONZE 2 Ferocious Tiger, there were A dozen children huddling in fear, there were three corpses besides the Tiger already.

"Let's go help them!!!" Shadow roars upon seeing the situation.

BANG! A spear is thrown on the head of the tiger, it successfully lands, the tiger gets dizzy after taking the blow.

Both Shadow and Glutton turn into a blur, the tiger is still dizzy, while, the men fighting against it were startled, Glutton immediately bites the tiger's neck

*Roar* The tiger got angry and was about to smack Glutton, unfortunately for it, when it raised its claw Shadow slashed it.

*Roar* A cry filled with pain spreads throughout the forest.

"What the heck are you dazing around for?! Let's kill this beast!!!" Shadow shouted at the four men.

The four came out of their stupor and started hacking the tiger.

The tiger is still dangerous though, so Shadow and the rest are extra careful, they only need to prevent the tiger from smacking Glutton off its neck and they will win.

*Bang* Lou Yan smashes his big ax on the head of the Tiger, now it has a big wound on its head.

*Roar* The tiger opens its mouth and tries to bite Lou Yan.

Ban grabs his spear and throws it into the tiger's mouth, the tiger was choked by his spear.

"Thanks, Fatty, I owe you one." Lou Yan states with sweat pouring down his back.

Ban nods, he then goes to the children to comfort them, now that his spear is on the tiger's mouth, he can't join in the battle.

"Let's finish this!" after saying that shadow slides down to the tiger's abdomen and stabs Killer with his full strength.
