I sighed.

It was no fun watching that. Asra was hugging Callisto like a koala and the king looked like an idiot with a smile on his face.

It was ridiculous and frustrating.

"Waste of time" I grumbled and the demon in my earring snorted.

"You wanted to see them suffer?"

I shrugged my shoulders.

"Maybe a little, at least... would be fun, wouldn't it?"

I didn't need to see the face of that little serzinho to know that now he wondered if I had any empathy inside me.

Well, the truth was that it depended on the day and my mood.

That day and that particular moment, I didn't have much left.

"She's your friend!" he protested and I shrugged.

Part of her was my friend, but why would I tell him that? I'd ruin the fun.

"I'm not telling her to die" I grumbled "just to get hurt or do something fun."

It was unbelievable - he must have been thinking, but the truth was I needed something.

I always needed something to get rid of boredom, so I used to joke, jump from plane to plane and throw myself into other people's minds when I was too tired to exist.

Fools who desire eternity - have no idea how tiring it can be.

"It's not my fault" I muttered "in the end it's always the same and I'm tired of the same."

That was an excuse and at the same time it wasn't.

It was not a lie that I was tired and that everything had become boring and repetitive.

Crimson eyes came to mind.

I sighed.

"They're not going to do anything else, right?" I asked as I pulled some of the leaves from the tree where I was. The trunk was too cold, but the leaves were heated by a non-existent heat in its trunk.

That world was not boring - not like the vast majority -, but in the end it was not so different from mine.

"Well..." the demon muttered "maybe they'll do something, but I don't remember you being a voyeur, did you change your taste?"

Smile.

"No, you're right, I prefer to participate" I said as I stretched out "you know..." sighed "I think I really miss home."

The demon has grunted.

"I hate it when you say that," he muttered and all I could do was let out a snickering laugh.

I wanted things to end quickly, I wanted to be able to go back to my house and I wanted - among all those things -, to be able to hug that person. The one with the gray blonde hair and ruby eyes.

How long had passed for her?

"Let's go" I said jumping in the shadows "it's time to speed things up a bit."

"By heaven... I hope you all survive."

Smile.

Maybe, not everyone survived, but now I didn't care so much about it.

All I wanted was for boredom to go away, for that damn seal to break and the endless suffering of a cursed soul to come undone so that I could finally return home.

"None of this would have happened if you just stayed in his place" the annoying demon continued and I felt tempted to crush him, to tear that little earring to shreds and take with him the existence of that being, but the truth was that he was useful to me.

I could have had others, I knew that -, but I was used to the presence of that little thing.

"Be quiet" said "I don't want moral lessons, I want action."

"Are you really doing this to get back home? Or just because you're tired of waiting?"

I stopped, the shadows were now throwing me in front of the king's room.

"Who knows?" My lips arched into a wicked smile "maybe a little of both."

"Sadistic, fucking fire eater!"

"To you, my dear, you are a sadistic lord, a cursed fire-eater," I mocked and my fingers brushed against the door of Callisto's room, enough for them to open, enough for me to enter there and look for something useful.

"What should I wear?" I grumbled to myself.

That place was like a tomb and a sanctuary, dark, cold and full of memories of the dead.

Quinn was his name, right? Calisto had called him while he was poisoned, but...

My eyes fell on a painting, one that was hidden in Callisto's closet. It was an angel, an angel with blue eyes and golden hair.

She smiled.

She smiled in all the paintings she had seen in all those lives.

Your smile was... how could I describe it?

It was a charming, true smile. It made my heart ache.

"He looks like you," the demon said and I shot him mentally.

"Repeat." I threatened, but he just laughed low.

"Sorry, I just... thought so."

It wasn't like that, it wasn't like that. I closed my hands in fists.

Calisto was an idiot, he confused things and people, he used others to take the revenge he couldn't get with his own hands and in the end, he broke thousands of hearts in the process.

I wasn't a good person, but I would never be like Callisto. We weren't alike.

"Okay, okay... don't think about it," he teased me and I held the earring between my fingers.

"One more word" threatened "say one more word and I'll just make you disappear."

My voice was cold as ice and sharp. I wasn't kidding.

I would really do it.

My eyes went through the place and faced a small necklace, it was a necklace with ruby pendant, a ruby that had carved like a beautiful flower.

"That should do it" I muttered as I held it in my pocket.

It was easy to do such a thing when there were not so many guards in the king's palace. It was easy when the fallen one who didn't normally take his eyes off me, was busy trying to kill his king.

My fingers pressed that necklace in my pocket and just like I did before, I threw myself in the shadows and let them take me, take me where they should take me, where it was more fun.

"Your orders... sir" they whispered to my ear as their icy tentacles touched my body.

I had really gotten used to it, but how long would it last this time?
