Nate, Pat, and Nixon had to meet with the Dean to decide Nixon’s fate in the morning. Drinking is a serious offense on campus, and Nixon was underage. Along with his grades, it wasn’t looking good.

I walked up to see Nash and his brothers in the hallway. They were waiting for the meeting to end with the Dean.

/"How long have they been in there?/" I asked Nash.

/"For over an hour. It’s a mess./"

Nate, Pat, and Nixon appeared from the Dean’s office.

/"Well?/" Nash asked.

/"Nixon has to leave school for the rest of the semester and attend rehab. If he completes it, he can return to school next semester. They aren’t budging on this,/" Nate said.

/"Can’t we fight it, Dad?/" Nathan asked.
