Wei Wuxian’s Second Life Part Two

It's been a full year and Wei Wuxian turned fifteen. He gained his sword, which of course, somehow, ended up being Suibian. He knew it was Suibian once he held it for the first time, it even looked the same but this time it was Grandmaster Lan who gifted Wei Wuxian the sword, saying he would always be a Lan even if he didn't wish to carry the name, so instead he gifted him a white and blue ribbon that was embroidered with clouds, for his to wear on his wrist to represent that he is tied to the Lan main family, and Wei Wuxian traded his Jiang Spiritual bell for a Lan Jade token for free accesses to come and go as he pleases.

That wasn't even the best part of his stay, he got to stake his claim on his Lan Wangji MUCH earlier. Poor Lan Qiren almost died by Qi Deviation last year once he stumbled upon his Nephew sucking the life out of the poor Wei Wuxian who was at the mercy of Lan's great arms strength that pinned him to the wall. He supposed that's what he deserved considering it was Wei Wuxian's own fault for teasing the Lan in shameless ways, to where Lan Wangji snapped and was about ready to PaPaPa him against this wall.

Everyone quickly learned who was the ruthless and the most shameless one in their relationship, and Wei Wuxian learned rather quickly that the Younger Lan Wangji was far more hungrier for his body than the older version of himself. Wherever Wei Wuxian was, Lan Wangji was close behind, always having his hands somewhere on his body, though it was Wei Wuxian stopping his hands from going TOO far, especially in public, and differently at Sects. conferences. Poor Lan Qiren knew his grave wasn't that far behind him now if his nephew continued this way, while Lan Xichen was having a bit of a hard time hiding his laugh once he saw his brother getting too handsy with Wei Wuxian.

Though they had to draw the line after a night of obvious... well, let's just say Lan Qiren ended up in the infirmary and Lan Xichen went into seclusion after that night. They HAD to separate them into different rooms, but they were not fools, they know that Wei Wuxian created a talisman to keep the sound within the room and for others so they were not able to hear them, they knew this well because Wei Wuxian gave some to Lan Xichen just in case the passionate couple forgot to put one up, and because Lan Wangji had to let his Uncle and brother know that he broke, not only the tub, but also his bed in one night, and requested a new one and perhaps a bigger one to be brought to his room. Lan Qiren decided to write his will that day, and Lan Xichen was left to order his brother a new bed as soon as possible because he also learned that poor Wei Wuxian couldn't get up that day or the day after, or the day after that. Lan Xichen needed to teach his brother limits before he broke anything else or worse, Wei Wuxian.

The month when the guest disciples were to arrive came rather quickly, and with some serious talk and begging, Wei Wuxian convinced Lan Qiren to invite the Jiang Sect, who lost all ties and ability after what happened the year before, but because the offer was too great to pass by, Jiang Fengmain was sending them to join the lessons this year.

Once Wei Wuxian visited Lanling Jin for a Conference, he learned that Madam Yu got back together with Jiang Fengmain, and their relationship was stronger than ever. Perhaps even stronger before they even wedded. Also, Jiang Cheng grew to be a fine young man and Jiang Yanli was just as perfect as she always were, but the most important thing was that they were together again, and they all loved one another, and all it took was for Wei Wuxian to leave. He felt that perhaps he should have left earlier, then maybe the reputation of the Jiang Clan wouldn't be in the muds after word got out that Wei Wuxian was forced out of their household because of obvious signs of abuse that was collected upon him at his stay with them. Wei Wuxian wishes he could have been stronger to prevent it all before it even started.

Lan Wangji knows of these dark thoughts that Wei Wuxian hides within him, always tells him it was never his fault, that they were in the wrong, that Wei Wuxian is perfect the way he is. After a few months of rehab the very first time Wei Wuxian was with them, Lan Wangji stayed by his side and helped Wei Wuxian through it all and slowly Wei Wuxian believes him, and gotten better to where he could finally leave seclusion and be able to progress among the Lans who only want to help and protect him, but all that security started to crash around him once he bumps into Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli at the opening dinner a month before the classes, so the guest disciples could get a tour before the year started.

Lan Wangji wraps his arms around him tightly, to make Wei Wuxian feel safer, and led him away from the Jiang sibling, even though they clearly wanted to talk to Wei Wuxian. Even when he looks back, Wei Wuxian saw Jiang Cheng glaring at them, even though it was meant for Lan Wangji, but Wei Wuxian was too far out of it to notice the truth. The meal started well and Lan Wangji did a good job of stirring Wei Wuxian away from Jiang's table. The Night was going great and was about to get better once Lan Qiren stood up and cleared his throat to get everyone's attention.

Lan Qiren, "I got some news to share." he smiles, "As you know my family took in the talented Wei Wuxian and I am pleased to announce that my Nephew, the Second Jade of Gusu, Lan Wangji is engaged with Wei Wuxian."

Tears and wine went all around to celebrate the newly engaged couple, Wei Wuxian was smiling broadly up at Lan Wangji who was looking down, just as equally affectionately, at his fiance. This was their happiest day thus far and hoped for even better from now on.

The opening ceremony went without a hitch, even without much of a disturbance from the Wen's as Wei Wuxian was ready for them and silenced Wen Chao before he could open his stupid big fat mouth, and welcomed Wen Ning and Wen Qing with open arms, befriending them right on the spot, which Wen Ning seemed to love, but Wen Qing was a bit suspicious of Wei Wuxian, which he could expect nothing less than of Wen Qing to be. Even though everything seems to go smoothly, Wei Wuxian couldn't help but to still stay clear of the Jiangs, even though some of his old shidi's tried to talk to him or ask him to play with them, he would always say that Lan Wangji needed him or he had other tasks that needed his attention at the time.

Though he couldn't prevent his Shijie from seeking him out one afternoon after classes just ended for the day. Wei Wuxian was about to make his way to the Hanshi where he promised Lan Wangji to meet him. Though that came to a halt as he spotted Jiang Yanli in front of him leaning against a tree, and she must have known he'll be there as she turns around at the right moment. She offers him a watery smile before coming closer, she looks him up and down before settling on his face, before she reaches out and gently strokes his face. Jiang Yanli, "A-Xian, has it been truly a year? You ran away from me so quickly that I didn't even have the chance to see you. I've missed my A-Xian so much!"

"Shijie, I've missed you too," he said with tears in his eyes which she quickly wiped away, which he returned the gesture back.

Lan Wangji left the Hanshi looking for where Wei Wuxian could possibly be, for he still hasn't met Lan Wangji, for lunch. Lan Wangji was worried, for his fiance, that perhaps he was met with trouble which caused him not to be able to return to his side, but what he came to find was Wei Wuxian being embarrassed by his ex-shijie, that Wei Wuxian always and still cares for. At first, Lan Wangji's reactions were jealousy but soon to turn into sorrow, not because he felt that Wei Wuxian might leave him to go back to Yunmeng Jiang with young Lady Jiang, but for the fact that Wei Wuxian has been dreaming for this day and never thought it would come. So in other words Lan Wangji was feeling the shared sorrow with his soulmate.

Night fell over Cloud Recesses, and Wei Wuxian had to say goodnight to Jiang Yanli, as hard as it was but Wei Wuxian links his arm to Lan Wangji and lets himself be led away from her to the Jingshi, where he got ready for bed with Lan Wangji. Curled up against his fiance's chest, Wei Wuxian was able to relax even though such hardships he had to face today, was still clouding his mind, but he somehow felt at peace with himself, and most of all, in peace with his situation with at least Jiang Yanli, knowing he was still loved by his shijie, and that he hadn't lost her a year ago. She even tried to convince that Jiang Cheng misses him as well and regrets their childhood, and how Jiang Cheng treated Wei Wuxian, all because of his jealousy and his mother acting like the demon over his shoulder, telling him it was okay to abuse his brother the way he was treating him. Jiang Yanli wants Wei Wuxian to at least try and sit down and talk to Jiang Cheng, but Wei Wuxian, even if it wasn't being the bigger person, refused to face Jiang Cheng, deeming it being inappropriate for them to meet.

Lan Wangji, "You're thinking too much." he whispers into Wei Wuxian's hair.

Wei Wuxian, "I know, I can't help it, I guess. My body is in the clouds while my mind is swimming through the ocean." he sighs. "I just can't help it."

Lan Wangji, "Than think of anything else other than them. Think of me as I am always thinking of you."

Wei Wuxian sits up slightly to look at Lan Wangji, "You can't possibly be thinking of me twenty-four seven. It's not possible."

Lan Wangji, "Lying is prohibited in Cloud Recesses."

Smirking like a laughing demon, Wei Wuxian challenges, "Then prove it! Prove how you can be thinking about me with your daily activities." though he thought about it for a moment before adding, "Just nothing creepy, like having tea with your uncle and thinking of... well I am not even that shameless."

Lan Wangji, "I think of Wei Ying when I wake up in the morning, thinking how beautiful he is when the sun hits his skin and makes his hair shine, I think of Wei Ying when I eat breakfast thinking of new dishes that may bring a new smile on his face. I think of Wei Ying during lessons, thinking that you are the smartest, intelligent, and incredible man, knowing he could pass any lessons that he may take. I think of Wei Ying when I drink tea with brother or Uncle, thinking how I wish I could drink Wei Ying's delicious tea and talk to him about his day as I do with them. I think of Wei Ying when I practice the sword, thinking that he is my equal in everything and the only one that could bring me to my knees by force but always willing. I think of Wei Ying at dinner and lunch, thinking how lucky I am to be able to eat by his side. I think of Wei Ying in our private times, thinking how did I get so lucky that this is my life? I think of Wei Ying at night, either sleeping or loving you, I think how I wish I can repeat all of this again tomorrow. I think of Wei Ying when I am asleep, thinking isn't lovely, I was all alone but now my heart is full. Full of love for my Wei Ying."

Wei Wuxian could stop the tears that kept falling from his eyes, he leaned his forehead to where it rested against Lan Wangji's. Wei Wuxian, "I thought of you before I even thought of you Lan Zhan. It's hard to explain it to you, and I might never be able to, but I loved you before you even knew me. You are my world, my heart, my breath, my everything."

Lan Wangji, "I love Wei Ying too. I know there is more than Wei Ying let on, but I don't care, because he is with me now and that all that matters to me."

Wei Wuxian, "You are all that matters to me too Lan Zhan."

The time for when the Wens pushed the waterborne abyss into Caiyi town came to play, Wei Wuxian had a plan already set in his mind on how this should go, but he wasn't sure if he should let Lan Wangji on it. But the idea of Lan Wangji getting hurt if something went wrong, and the scenario went a little different, how it was hopefully going to play out, Wei Wuxian decided against it. He kept quiet about it but let everything else continue on its own, to where the spread wide panic started in Caiyi town before it reached Cloud Recesses' ears. Lan Wangji invited guest disciples to get along, but he checked with Wei Wuxian it would be alright to ask for the Jiangs to come along, and Wei Wuxian know it would be for the best if Jiang Cheng comes, as if it wasn't for Jiang Cheng, a lot of the disciples would be lost to the Waterborne abyss.

Lan Wangji stood behind Wei Wuxian on the boats that were being rowed out to the larger part of the lake at the edge of Caiyi town. He didn't want to leave Wei Wuxian on his own if anything were to go wrong, Lan Wangji won't hesitate to get out of there with Wei Wuxian. Of course, Lan Wangji will make sure Lan Xichen got out safely and was following him from close behind, but Lan Wangji has a strong urge to protect Wei Wuxian, even though he knows very well that Wei Wuxian could damn well protect himself better than Lan Wangji could.

Everything was quiet at first, some of the guest disciples were behind them, chattering among themselves wondering what could be taking these ghouls so long to show themselves. Across from them, Wei Wuxian notices that it was Lan Xichen's boat who was the unlucky one this time around, where the ghouls were already ready to sink one of them, but Wei Wuxian thought quicker, Wei Wuxian, "Xichen-gege come over here on our boat and tell Lan Zhan to stop bullying me!" he whines like a three-year-old child.

Lan Wangji stares at Wei Wuxian. puzzled at what his fiance was up to. Though he was taken off guard when Wei Wuxian quickly grabs his arms and wraps them around himself. Wei Wuxian lets out a yelp acting as if he was trying to struggle free from Lan Wangji's grasp but when it was truly Wei Wuxian who wouldn't let him go, Wei Wuxian, "XICHEN-GEGE HELP! HE-HE'S BEING SHAMELESS NOW!!!"

Xichen smiles and shakes his head, buying that his brother was being a little touchy again with his poor fiance, and jumps across from his boat to theirs to pull his brother away from Wei Wuxian, but Wei Wuxian was faster and let go of Lan Wangji's arms and grabs the ore and jumps off of the boat to land on the one Lan Xichen was on, and before Lan Xichen lands at Lan Wangji's side, Wei Wuxian flips the boat upside down before landing again next to his fiance, and soon to be brother in law.

Lan Xichen and Lan Wangji were speechless to find five water ghouls on the bottom of the boat that Lan Xichen was just on and was seconds away from sinking and taking Lan Xichen with it. Lan Xichen, "A-Xian how did you...?"

Wei Wuxian swings the ore around his shoulders and relaxes his arms around it before looking back at the boat that the Lan disciples were putting spiritual nets around, trapping the ghouls before they escaped. Wei Wuxian, "In Lotus Pier training for water ghouls night hunts. You need to always watch the boats of those around you to see if the weight doesn't match up to the many passengers on the boat. Your boat was sunk farther than Lan Wangji's and I boat. It was obvious one was underneath your boat."

Jiang Cheng was bewildered, Wei Wuxian was correct, but Wei Wuxian never stayed at Lotus Pier long enough to undergo that training, so how did he know of this?

Wei Wuxian looks to the water just in time to find black seaweed flying out the water and trying to attack them but Wei Wuxian already planned for this and pulls out his talismans that he prepped for this and flung them at the water, cutting the seaweed off. Lan Wangji steps to his fiance's side and launches his sword at the water to cut the seaweed at the core of it before he summons it back, bringing a bunch of seaweed and black hair of the water ghouls that are deep into the water. Wei Wuxian calls forth Suibian and launches it besides Bichen, them intertwining together, gathering enough spiritual energy as one and hitting the water together causing a huge splash, uplifting ghouls and other junk from the water, high in the air.

Lan Wangji thought it was over but Wei Wuxian knew better and called Suibian back to his side ready for the upcoming fight. Onto a few boats back, the disciple Su She already made the grave mistake of sending his sword into the water, losing it, and being scolded by his peers, telling him he is too full of himself. Just when the water started to turn black and a whirlpool started to form from the bottom and rise to the top. and taking boats with it.

Lan Xichen, "Everyone, take to the sky!" he orders all the disciples.

Following his orders, they all climb to their swords, getting out of the waterborne abyss reach. Lan Xichen was lost in what to do and looked to his brother and Wei Wuxian on what to do, but Lan Wangji was just as shocked as him, but Wei Wuxian had already spoken up, "We need to split up into three groups. Xichen-gege, take some of the Lan disciples to try to soothe the demon with cultivating music, Jiang Wanyin you take Jin Zixuan and gather up the rest of the disciples and get out of the water and try to reach Cloud Recesses to gather help, I will send a messenger butterfly to where to go from there. Lan Zhan stays with me, we're going to get this bastard away from the town as quickly as possible."

No one argued and took off to do as Wei Wuxian said. Lan Xichen and a few other fellow Lan disciples took out their guqin and flutes, they started to play Rest to calm the Waterborne. Jiang Cheng along with Jin Zixuan gathers disciples who were struggling in the water before they get pulled in. Luckily there very few and others were already working together to get everyone out. Wei Wuxian goes higher in the sky and starts to strip out of his outer robes to expose his white tunic underwear. Wei Wuxian, "I need you to keep up with me and try not to get caught."

Lan Wangji, "What are you doing?" he asks as he watched Wei Wuxian bite his index finger and started to draw on his clothes with his blood.

Once finished, Lan Wangji recognized what the writing was. It was a talisman that his fiance created a while back. It was an evil spirit attracting talisman. Wei Wuxian, "I am going to be the bait to draw this thing out of here." he pulls out a map that he hid in his shirt and hand it over to Lan Wangji, "Send a message to Cloud Recesses to meet us here and write out the instruction to trap the waterborne abyss."

Lan Wangji was about to stop Wei Wuxian, but he was already taking off of Suibian in the opposite direction and for a moment nothing happened until the whirlpool stopped the massive black pool of water and started to move and follow Wei Wuxian away from Caiyi town and down the river. Lan Xichen watched this and shocked that somehow Wei Wuxian plan is working, he and the Lan disciples followed in from behind the waterborne abyss, continuing to play the Resting song to hopefully keep it calm as they followed Wei Wuxian out and for the most part, the trip was calm and they lure the Waterborne abyss to a small part of the river that had one way in and now no way out as the backup disciples of Cloud Recesses came to the rescue and following Wei Wuxian instructions raised the ground to create a pool of water trapping the waterborne abyss in. Still, in the sky, Wei Wuxian takes a dagger out and cuts his palm and writes a large rune in the sky, and right away the water in the pool starts to rise in the sky and explodes all around them drenching Wei Wuxian and everyone around.

Once the last of the water sprinkled away there was nothing left in the pool but the Waterborne abyss which disgusted everyone to their core. The Waterborne abyss was made out of millions of dead sailors and citizens from different sects. All the bodies combined together in a large black and red oozing that pulsates as if it was using every body to breathe, even though it was made out of dead rotting corpses. Writing another rune in the sky, Wei Wuxian used the last of sun they had to burn the Waterborne abyss to ashes which caused them all to cover their mouths and noses to block the taste and smell of burning corpses as the ashes take to the sky and was gone as it came.

Feeling his knees grow weak and everything started to spin around him, Wei Wuxian lost his balance off of his sword and he plummets to the ground before anyone could react. Lan Wangji, who was never too far from Wei Wuxian, screamed his name as he dives to catch him but he wasn't fast enough. Bichen wasn't moving fast enough and the ground was closing in. Lan Wangji was going to lose him, he was going to lose the love of his life just when he just got him all because he wasn't fast enough. The ground was closing in Wei Wuxian was about to hit, when Jiang Cheng came out of nowhere and scooped him from mid-air. skimming barely off the ground. Falling off his sword and tumbling into the grass. Jiang Cheng held on tight to Wei Wuxian the best he could and prevented him from getting hurt, even when Jiang Cheng was sure he broke his arm and his leg, maybe even a few ribs but he didn't let go until they stopped.

Lan Wangji jumps from his own sword and rushes to them, taking Wei Wuxian from Jiang Cheng's arms, checking for a pulse in his neck. It was weak but it was there. Brushing his hand over Wei Wuxian's face he tried to get him to take a breath whispering, "Please don't leave me," to him, Lan Wangji continued to play with Wei Wuxian's ruly hair and petting his face as if it was not only the most fragile thing in the world but the most precious.

Finally, Wei Wuxian took a large gasping breath, opening his eyes slightly, silver eyes meeting golden ones and a small smile spread across Wei Wuxian's face, "Lan Zhan." he whispers before falling asleep in Lan Wangji's arms.

Cuddling him to his chest, Lan Wangji couldn't help but let a silent sob shake his body, Lan Wangji looks to Jiang Cheng who was being helped by his own brother, Lan Wangji, "Thank you!" he says to him and Jiang Cheng nods, not sure what to say, but one thing was on everyone's mind, and it was how glad they were Wei Wuxian was still with them.
