The golden eyed Omega

Ina is a golden eyed Omega, which is exceptional among desert wolves, living together with her friend Noah in the pack on a desert next to a big city hidden behind huge walls. The life for desert wolves is hard, water is rationed out and what is more, there are some parts that are not available for them as they are inhabited by feral werewolves, which cannot shift into human form anymore, and hunt Ina’s pack and similar ones for food. In the city live the high class werewolves entertaining themselves by organizing huntings on stray werewolves who, when they get caught, are being sold into slavery. Werewolves fights are very popular as well as buying personal slaves.

Chapter 33

Ina was tense. Adeline was way too happy to be something really nice for her. She looked at the proud Beta sitting with a smirk on the chair.

"Warden Egar, bring the next patch of convicts." She ordered loudly.

"Yes my lady." The warden bowed again and went to the building on the left along with two guardians. They let out five men.

Ina's heart for a moment stopped beating, at least it felt like that. It was her father, among other slaves. Adeline called them convicts. It means … Ina wanted to scream in agony.

"Go, say "Goodbye" to your father." Adeline smiled seeing her pale face and pained expression.

Ina walked, no she ran towards her father. The first man was called to the pedestal and an executioner was getting ready to slice his throat. The whole pedestal was soaked in red stains, old and quite fresh ones.

"Father." Ina was unable to speak, tears were rolling down her cheek.

"Stop Ina." father's voice was both strong and soft in her ears.

"I know why that woman brought you here. They want to break you darling. Don't let them. Don't show your pain or she will do it again and again until instead of a heart you will be walking with an open wound." He wiped her tears.

"You are my proud daughter, a desert wolf and a warrior. I'm not afraid. My dream came true and I had a chance to see my beautiful daughter. You have grown to become just like your mother. I'm so proud of you. I hope I will meet Aisling soon. Deep in my heart I know she might be already waiting for me and I want to join her. Don't cry, watch me daughter, watch a true desert warrior die. Be happy for me, my struggle is over. You must remain strong, Show them!"

"I love you dad." Ina whispered hearing another man being called and dragged to that pedestal. The man was scared he was shaking and he even pissed himself.

The executioner grabbed him tightly, forced on his knees and with one move sliced his throat. The gurgling sound and loud plop of a corpse that used to be a human full of life, wishes and desires.

"Now it's my turn, watch me and don't cry." Her father stepped on the pedestal and approached the drenched in blood executioner. He nodded slightly and her father kneeled, raising his head high. He looked at Ina and smiled.

Ina took off her dress and changed into her wolf form. As the throat of her father was being slit she was howling, loud and clear. Her lonely call was heard by all present people and even further into the city. Ina was saying goodbye to a precious member of the Silver Tooth Pack. With her howling she was guiding him to the Eternal Forest she was showing her love to her father.

Her father died, she has seen the last spark in his eye before his body fell to the ground. His spirit was free. Ina changed her form back and slowly got dressed under the excited eyes of the guards, but she didn't care. Dad was right, she was a desert wolf and she will not budge.

"What a show. Adeline was clapping her hands in amusement.

"I must admit I enjoyed every moment of it." She continued while laughing.

'Lady Adeline." Ina approached her and bowed.

"I'd like to thank you for bringing me here. Thanks to you I had a rare chance to talk to my father. I even could bit him farewell as a wolf, which was very important to me. I shall always remember your generosity.``

All those words cost her a lot, yet she even managed to smile. Just like her father, she will not allow them to destroy her spirit.

For a brief moment Adeline was speechless and that was enough for Ina. At least for now. She will make her pay, one day Adeline Salter will regret everything she has done to her or any other slave.

"Lady Adeline, do you have any other surprises for me, or are we going home now?" Ina looked expectantly at the pissed Beta.

"No, that's it for today." Adeline stood up, she managed to get her composure back.

"Such rare pleasures should be graded with moderation." Holding Ina's leash in her hand she slowly strolled to the gate followed by that servile warden.

Ina knew the way back will be a hell for her yet she must hold back, father would want that.

Ina sat down opposite Adeline. This time Ina was focused on counting the bumps on the way, as well as any turn they have made. That appeared to be a distraction enough.

In her head the whole scene with her fathers last words and his brave death was repeated over and over again. Ina did everything she could to hold back her tears. She was looking at the covered window, if she had to look at that horrid woman she might attack her or lose her composure. Ina wanted none of it.

The carriage was rolling slowly and there was a deep silence, none of them was saying a word. Ina closed her eyes and focused on breathing and the carriage movement. She needs to last just a few minutes more and then she will be back to her room. Just a little bit.

Adeline was watching that damn Omega. There was something wrong with that desert slut. She hoped for a better show, begging and crying and throwing a tantrum, but no. That damn Omega was weird. She saw her father dying and then thanked her. That was unexpected. Adeline was almost sure that this show would break her spirit, apparently she didn't master the trick of taming wild things, but she knew perfectly well who was great at it. Adeline smiled, yes that will teach that insolent slave a lesson. She knocked on the carriage side and it stopped.

"Change of plans, drive us to my father's house."
