Sent to the army

Everyone turned towards the sound of the BOOM and saw that the tent holding the gunpowder was blown up. Enemy soldiers ran in on horses and started firing on them. Xiao Fan had stopped leading Meng Suyin to the prison once he heard the explosion so now Meng Suyin had a front row seat to the enemy soldiers destroying their base.

Feng Mingli watched with narrowed eyes as the enemy soldiers killed some of his own men and then turned to Xiao Fan and said," Gather all the men you can and grab any weapons you can find. We need to defend this base."

Xiao Fan saluted his General and quickly ran off to follow his orders leaving Meng Suyin behind.

Meng Suyin turned towards her General and said," What should I do? Continue walking towards the prison on my own, but I don't know where it is."

Feng Mingli looked at Meng Suyin expressionlessly as he said," You're going to join the other soldiers defending this base. We need all the hands we can get. Now find a weapon and start defending this base camp."

Meng Suyin tensed and said," Yes General, there's just one problem.... I'm still new so I don't know how to use any weapons."

Feng Mingli's face darkened, and he said," You can at least fight with your fists, right. Attack the enemies without a weapon and you should still be able to help us fight off the enemy soldiers."

Meng Suyin flinched and said," I don't know how to fight either. I haven't learned martial arts and I've never been in an actual fight before."

Li Huo popped up next to Meng Suyin with a smug look on his face and said," That's why you should have learned martial arts before you came to this world."

Meng Suyin wanted to glare at Li Huo and tell him that she didn't know she'd need martial arts in this world, but Meng Suyin had already gone over that with him before, and she couldn't exactly glare at him in front of her General. Feng Mingli was paying close attention to Meng Suyin right now so if she started glaring at air then he might think she was crazy. Well crazier than he already thought she was because Meng Suyin had no doubt that Feng Mingli thought she was a little crazy after he saw all those photos the original Meng Suyin took of him.

Feng Mingli just stared at Meng Suyin for a few seconds before saying," If you don't even know how to fight then why'd you join the army in the first place?"

' To be with you,' Meng Suyin thought. But she actually said," My parents wanted me to. They thought I was too much of a shut in so they wanted me to join the army so that I would get out of my room."

This was also partially true. The actual reason Meng Suyin joined the army was because her parents wanted her to so she'd be out of the house and they wouldn't have to worry about her bothering her sister, Meng Yun. They knew she liked Meng Yun's fiancé, Feng Mingli, so they thought she wouldn't hesitate to join the army to be around him. And they were right, Meng Suyin didn't hesitate to join the army once she thought of being around Feng Mingli for months on end. Not only that, but her parents didn't have to worry about her stealing her sister's fiancé because they knew Meng Suyin would never be able to make Feng Mingli fall for her.

Meng Suyin's parents never really cared for her. They loved her brother, Meng Jianyu, and Meng Yun, but they never really loved her. Meng Suyin's mother almost died giving birth to her so that might have been part of the reason, but Meng Suyin never really knew for sure why her parents didn't care for her.

Meng Jianyu used to treat his sisters equally in the past, but as they grew older, he eventually started to favor Meng Yun more. Not that he hated his sister Meng Suyin, but he liked Meng Yun's cute and naive personality more. He felt that Meng Yun needed his protection, and that Meng Suyin didn't really need as much protection. As a child Meng Suyin was pretty mature for her age. She didn't cling to people, like her sister, or cry as much. She was mostly quiet and just stayed in the background. It might have been because of her parents' indifference, but she always looked gloomy. Nobody noticed though because their attention was always on her sister, Meng Yun. So, as she grew up, Meng Suyin turned into an antisocial teenager until eventually she met Feng Mingli and fell for him when he saved her from a kidnapping case. Her parents never really noticed until he brought her home because they were focused on Meng Yun's birthday party.

Years passed and Feng Mingli eventually forgot about the little teenage Meng Suyin that he saved, but Meng Suyin never forgot about Feng Mingli. He was the first person to show kindness to her. Even if it was just to calm down a frightened Meng Suyin. So, as she grew into a young adult her gratitude towards him became an obsession.

So, when the family met with Feng Mingli again, they proposed marriage with one of their daughters. Feng Mingli's grandfather happened to be with him at that point, so he gladly accepted for him. Meng Yun happened to be with them, so she was chosen as Feng Mingli's fiancée. Feng Mingli's grandfather, Feng Weisheng, had gradually gotten to know Meng Yun through dinner as they worked out the engagement details and thought she would make a great wife for Feng Mingli.

When Meng Suyin found out about the engagement, she wanted to stop it, but her parents stopped her. They locked her in her room during the engagement ceremony, but Meng Suyin managed to break out and sneak down to the banquet hall. There she saw Feng Mingli and Meng Yun happily conversing with a few people. She managed to get a little closer to hear what was being said when suddenly Meng Yun saw her.

Meng Yun turned to Feng Mingli and said," It looks like my sister isn't here. Do you want to try looking for her. I just know she wants to thank you in person for saving her back then."

Feng Mingli looked at her and shook his head as he said," No, I'm sure she's busy. Besides I don't really remember saving her. It took place a long time ago so there's really no need for her to thank me anyway."

Meng Suyin felt a pang in her heart as she heard that Feng Mingli didn't remember her. She never thought that he would have forgotten about her, especially when she held that moment so close to her heart.

She was about to turn around and leave when suddenly one of the guests came up and spoke," Why don't we seal this engagement with a kiss from the new couple. You can go ahead and practice for the wedding."

Meng Yun glanced at Meng Suyin and smiled. For the first time Meng Suyin noticed an evil glint in her eyes. Meng Yun quickly looked back at the people around her and blushed as if she was very shy. But Meng Suyin knew from seeing her eyes before that she was just faking it.

Feng Mingli looked at Meng Yun and was about to refuse when suddenly Meng Yun looked up at him with a blush still on her face as she said," I don't mind. Do you? I mean if you don't want to then we don't have to." By the end Meng Yun had begun fiddling with her fingers as if she was nervous.

Feng Mingli who was about to refuse stopped and thought about his response. He looked at Meng Yun and saw her still acting a bit nervous, but he also felt like he saw a bit of hope hidden in her eyes.

Feng Mingli sighed and said," I don't mind."

Meng Yun smiled nervously as everyone cheered and started chanting, "KISS, KISS, KISS."

Feng Mingli just looked at everyone chanting before he turned to Meng Yun and grabbed her arm to pull her closer. One hand landed on her waist and the other on the back of her neck as he slowly leaned down. He saw Meng Yun close her eyes to accept his kiss, so he continued and closed his eyes as their lips met.

The kiss was short and sweet for the two of them. It was basically just a peck, no tongue involved. But for Meng Suyin it was pure torture. She had to watch the man she loved kiss another woman, and that other woman was her own sister.

No longer wanting to stick around. Meng Suyin turned around and ran out of the banquet hall with tears in her eyes. But no one noticed her except for Meng Yun.

As Meng Suyin took one last glance in the banquet hall at Feng Mingli, she saw Meng Yun next to him looking at her with contempt.

From that day on Meng Suyin hated her sister. She would often get into fights with her over various little things. Her parents who got fed up with her sent her to the army to keep her away from Meng Yun. And Meng Suyin went because Feng Mingli was there.

Meng Suyin snapped out of her thoughts as she realized something was weird. She didn't know where that scene came from or how she knew certain things about the original Meng Suyin without Li Huo telling her.

Sensing her thoughts Li Huo appeared again and said," They're the original Meng Suyin's memories. You're starting to integrate with her body. So naturally her memories are starting to come to you. In the future worlds, you'll have those memories from the original owner and the plot line from the world you're in. Anyway, now that you've become accustomed to her body and her memories are yours, there's now a hidden mission that's appeared."

A familiar screen appeared in front of Meng Suyin and it said:

Hidden Mission: Seduce Feng Mingli and have his affection level reach 100.

Reward: 100 points

Failure: Random Punishment.
