Chapter 25: Split Roads
After accepting the Body Refinement manual. Information about the technique was directly uploaded into Michael's brain. To say the least he understood everything.
It was hard to tell by Michael's demeanor and handsome appearance but in truth Michael could be considered to be an old monster.
Behind his calm and polite appearance there was an old soul who had endured being tortured for a thousand years. Reincarnating time and time again. After that, he spent hundreds of years if not thousands of years inside the same tower that tortured him in order to learn various fields that could be useful to him and his goals granting him knowledge only few had the capacity to understand.
So understanding something as simple as a cultivation technique was a no brainer.
But what Michael didn't know was that even saints would have a problem understanding the technique he had just received from the system. And to make things even more baffling was that even the system was confused as to how Michael understood all of it even though he was still a mortal.
Ding!
Did you cheat...
"Huh ...what do you mean."
Ding!
Nothing...
Confused about why the system was sending him emojis of "I'm watching you" Michael decided to continue having fun with Ana and Hazel and at the same time collecting the materials needed to start refining his body.
Needless to say it was a very enjoyable outing.
******
Days went by and Michael kept enjoying his time going out with Ana to new places and trying new food.
Ana had her Peace of imperial jade made into another pendant. A pair of earrings and a small bracelet and without her knowing Michael carved a protection seal into the necklace, A qi gathering seal on the bracelet and a mind fog seal on the earrings to keep her from feeling mentally exhausted or depressed.
As for Hazel. although she didn't say anything Michael could tell she New about the symbols carved into Ana's jewelry but Refrained from taking any sort of action.
At least not until his last day of vacation.
On his last day. At night. Michael and Ana had a conversation that Michael didn't find so hard to understand. Nonetheless he had to act like he didn't know anything.
The conversation was simple. Really.
Ana wasn't going back to Kingsville.
The reason was her mom had her transfered back to Quinn's Island to undergo a medical procedure so that she could grow up. Something about a non-malignant tumor suppressing her growth hormones.
Although it was a lie. Michael could understand. Future princes of Atlantis needed to go back home and University wasn't as important after that revelation. And if things weren't secretive enough Ana would find out that she's not only a princes but also part siren/ mermaid.
Although Michael felt some heartache knowing his best friend was no longer going to be around for him to cook for or have awkward conversations with Michael still felt happy for her.
That's why he decided to leave in the middle of the night as to not affect Ana's emotions in the morning.
That's when Hazel showed up.
Without making a sound just like a leaf gliding through the wind she appeared before Michael as he made his way out of the Neptune residence.
"She's going to be sad when she wakes up in the morning, You know?."
"Oh, I know, but if I don't leave now she'd probably have her dad write an imperial edict and have me stay with her as a cook."
"Hahaha. I can see that happening."
"Yeah."
" So how did you find out. And what's your purpose of getting close to her."
Upon hearing Hazels question the immediate surroundings became still and the aura radiating from Hazel's body began to spike getting stronger and stronger as time went by.
It was only When Michael sighed that Hazel came back to her senses and retracted her aura.
"Sigh... I don't really have a hidden agenda. Ana and I became roommates by coincidence as far as I know. And as to how I found out well let's just say it was an accident."
"Oh. And by the way I do have something for you. Well ...for your family. Take this."
With that as if acting out a magic trick Michael handed Hazel a blank card made out of pure gold before walking away as he explained its purpose.
"Take the card and when a name appears on it inject some energy into it. It will take you and four other people to a secret realm. If you have the funds it can help Ana raise her cultivation fast enough for her to breeze over her mission."
As Michael disappeared from view.Hazel stood there pondering over the words Michael left behind.
Not long after A man clad in armor also appeared next to Hazel as he smiled at her.
"What do you think about the boy? Does he mean any harm to our daughter."
As if thinking hard about something Hazel replied in pauses.
"No...i...dont...think so."
"But what I do find interesting is how his aura can affect mine without him even having any cultivation base."
"That's indeed strange. So, What do you think? want to set him up with our daughter.
I quite like this kid."
"Hehe say that again in front of your parents and I might think it through if you survive. There still angry about you marrying outside of royalty. If not why would our daughter have to prove her self before going back to take her rightful position as princess.
"Hahaha. Sigh...it can't be helped. But don't worry if she really wants to Marry that boy trust me the royal family won't have any say on this either."
As the conversation ended Hazel and the man who was apparently king Neptune and Ana's father turned to look at one another before a smile crept up on each others faces and then disappearing from where they stood it was unknown to were they went.
As for Michael....well he was having problems of his own.
" I told you we wouldn't find any transportation this late at night."
Ding!
That's outrageous! Where is there entrepreneurial spirit?
Come, come, Pay me not ten! Not nine. But only FIVE store credits and I can transport your destination within seconds.
"Will I make it there in one piece?..."
Ding!
You should probably find a Hotel to stay at.
The best locations to stay for the night have been sent to you. Breakfast and transportation to the airport included.
"Sigh... No need. Let's find a secluded place and stay in the bead for tonight."
