Two: Scent of freesia

An old woman and a young man standing in front of a big tree, watching the tree grow new branches and leaves.

"Soon, that day will come." The old woman said with a worried tone. She can't help but think that the chaos will come soon.

"Very soon." The young man corrected as he noticed a blooming flower. "It will come, anytime."

"Too bad that this tree was once sacred and now it's a cursed tree. A lot has happened under this tree, happiness and sorrows." She's reminiscing the old times that they had fun herein. This tree used to be where the people gather and have some fun without fear, now people fear the place and never visited after that incident ages ago.

"Hmm." He just nodded. He never attended those kinds of gatherings, he never socializes with the human. However, this tree used to be the witness of his love for her. This place was their dating place.

The old woman gazed at the young man beside her. He has long gray hair and gray eyes with a tan complexion. He was always impassive that makes him enigmatic.

"Such an expressionless lad! I know that he's reminiscing about her and yet he acts like nothing." She smiled in a faint. This young guy doesn't know how to express his feelings!

"I was born like this. Quit your thoughts."

The old woman laughed. "Oh, yeah!" He can read minds like an open book!

"Freesia." He mumbled and sniffed in the air. "The scent of freesia is coming from that tree!" He warned and grabbed the old woman and then jumped backwards away from the tree.

"As I expected, " he put down the old woman and glared at the tree. "Stay behind me, old woman!" The danger is coming!

A black smoke surrounded the big tree and a strong wind came as the scent of freesia became stronger.

"Today is the day." The old woman mumbled.

He whistled in excitement but his expression was still cold as ice. "I know!" He grinned. He was waiting for this day and now, at last, he will witness what's gonna happen today, the cursed day.

The strong wind created a huge black tornado in front of them. The tornado was just occurring only in the same spot and didn't move an inch.

"Be ready!" A familiar voice came from nowhere.

The young man was taken aback. That voice was so familiar to him. The voice that he's been missing. The voice that frightens people.

"Enchantress!" His gazes roamed around to find the voice coming from.

"Enchantress!" He was excited to see her again. He was longing for her. Hearing her voice makes him sad and the guilt in his heart that he carried for so many years pricked his heart. The guilt with regrets that he couldn't save him from the incident.

"Frost." A soft sweet voice called him.

"Enchantress, please. Show yourself!" He begged as his tears formed in his cold eyes.

"Hmm. Now, he's showing his emotions for her. Only she makes that impassive man emotional!" The old woman watched the pity man gone like crazy searching for his woman.

"Frost, everything will be fine. I will be always in your heart." The voice slowly vanished as she finished her sentence.

Frost knelt and burst into tears. "I didn't even tell you that I love you." He whispered in sorrow. "I will avenge your death, Enchantress. I will get the justice that you deserve. An eye for an eye. Tooth for a tooth."  His tears dried and his eyes became ice-cold and then glared in the air.

"How are you going to avenge her if she was the one at fault in the first place?" She whispered as she shook her head in disbelief.

When the voice vanished, the tornado slowly disappeared and left an unconscious woman wearing strange clothes.

"Huh? A woman!" The old woman ran in the woman's direction. As she reached the unconscious woman, she smelled the scent of freesia from the woman. "What?! No way!" A dark terrifying aura appeared in the woman's body but it disappeared in a second.

"She's the one!" She screamed as she felt a strong headache as if her head will explode.

"Old woman, are you okay?" Frost snapped back in reality when he heard the old woman screaming in pain. He rushed towards her direction.

"What's wrong?" He asked again. He noticed that the old woman's face turned pale and her hands were shaking.

"She-" She pointed at the woman.

He furrowed his eyebrows while looking at the unconscious woman who was in weird clothes that he has never seen before. She has long dark brown hair, a fair complexion, a pointy nose, thin pink lips a rosy cheeks.

Those features...

"Hmm." The woman moaned and slowly opened her eyes.

Those eyes...

He's very familiar with that face. Those green eyes that he longed for. That pointy nose that he loves to pinch. Those soft pink lips that give him sweet kisses.

It's her!

"Enchantress, you're alive!" He immediately hugged her so right. Oh, man! He missed her so much. He's crying with joy. His dim eyes became bright. A smile appeared on his blank expression. His heart beats so fast. His coldness became warm.

Finally, he feels so alive.

She groaned as she pushed him away from her. "Who the hell are you?"

"Enchantress, it's me! Frost." He was alarmed when she didn't recognize her but then he smiled at her.

She narrowed her eyes and moved back. "I don't know you, Mister. Please, stay away from me."

"Don't kid around, Enchantress! It's me, Love." He moved to hug her again but her hand stop him.

"Don't you dare! I'm going to call the police if you hug me again, you pervert!" She warned.

Suddenly, he felt so sad. "I know you're upset and mad at me for not protecting you back then and I have regretted it and never forgotten about it. I carried it along with me through all my journeys in life and it's killing me. It's killing me that I thought you were dead and I will never see you again." He took a deep breath. He caressed her cheeks and fixed her hair.

"I am very sorry for being an asshole. I'm sorry for not saving you. I'm sorry that I'm not enough to protect you. I'm sorry that I was weak. I... I..." His throat dried. He couldn't speak anymore. His tears flowed on his cheeks. He felt so miserable. He laughed in disdain and wiped his tears.

Xylene was so surprised. She started at him, he was pitiful. He looks so strong and yet vulnerable inside. His tears are telling her that he's so much in pain and miserable.

"Hey!" She tapped his back to comfort him. That is the only way she could comfort her and that's it. She can't do more than that. Even though he's miserable and pitiful, she will not let her guard down. He was a totally stranger to her and maybe was a pervert that he was just acting to make a move on her. Hmm. How could this handsome guy be a pervert?

"Just cry and let out all your sufferings and pains. Crying doesn't make you weak, it makes you strong. You know, when a guy cries it means that he is a real man " She uttered with joy trying to cheer him.

A faint smile appeared on his face. He wiped his tears and held her has gently. "You know, when a guy cries for a woman it means that he loves her so much."

His words went through her heart. Her rosy cheeks became redder as her heart pounds faster.

She avoided his gaze and felt awkward. "Oh, my Gawd!" She felt that those words that came out of his mouth were meant for her. However, she knows that those words are not for her.

Who is she to him to say those words, anyway? They were just both strangers to each other.

Frost and Xylene didn't talk due to awkwardness between them and remained in their positions.

The old woman who has been watching them the whole time was still trembling in fear. "That lady has the scent of freesia." Her heart beats rapidly and cold sweats dripped on her forehead.

The old woman was disturbed by the scent of the young lady and the black shadow that came out from her. Also, what more bothers her was Frost calling the lady Enchantress.

Enchantress?

"How come that Frost called her Enchantress?" She only knows one Enchantress and there's only one named Enchantress in their world.

She has seen Enchantress many times and she was sure that this young woman is not Enchantress. There's no resemblance at all! So why is he calling her Enchantress?  Or is there anyone else named Enchantress that she doesn't know?

"Thinking of it, Frost seemed like attracted  at the young lady and he has known her for a long time." The old lady murmured and took a deep breath. She guessed that maybe only Frost could answer her questions.
