Conquering the Mystic Realm Part 14

Even though the guards were currently being massacred just outside of their village, none of the villagers knew this as they remained oblivious, but suddenly, the walls that were protecting them all collapsed and a surge of Monsters broke through making everyone scream and run for their life. But because Alvitr's house is located in the central area of the Village, she didn't get the news that they were being attacked.

"Alvitr! Run away, Monsters are raiding the Village, take Elisa with you and run towards the other side as fast as you can!" The Village bangs on Alvitr's door as he quickly warns her. When Alvitr hears this, she rushes outside and sees from afar that the Monsters are mercilessly slaughtering the villagers. Without even wasting any second she rushed back inside and carried the unconscious Elisa in her back as she rushed towards the back of her house to get as far as possible.

But as she was running, she suddenly stopped when she saw that the Village Chief wasn't running away with her even though this route was the fastest and safest way. So she turned back knowing how dangerous it was and asked the Village Chief to go with her as well as with the other survivors.

"I can't go with you Alvitr… I have to stay and protect my people because they still need me. You are different because, in reality, you are still different from us, even if you are stripped of your title, Elisa isn't. And if something happens to her, then something even worse than this Monster Raid will happen to the Village. So please, run away and keep safe. We don't want anything to happen to you and Elisa." The Village chief said as he shook his head and soon after the rest of the people behind him also agreed.

"Yeah. Just think of this as our way of repaying you again, Lady Alvitr because in reality, our Village won't prosper if you don't help us. So please, let us do at least this for you and your daughter because we believe that Elisa will surely become a great person to become the new Duchess of the Strasser Family." One of the women said as she walked forward and squeezed Alvitr's hand.

At this moment, Alvitr was already crying, her emotions began to run wild as she watched all of them say their goodbye to her and they then walked back towards the Village. She already knew that this might be the last time that she would see them ever again and when she came across this thought, she cried harder, her body felt weak. But when she heard Elisa's faint breath on her back, she gathered all of her courage.

"Stay safe everyone! Promise me that one day all of you will come back and meet me again!" With that, Alvitr wiped her tears away as she faced all of them with a smile before turning back and running again into the alleyways to get far away from there.

She didn't look back as she just ran, she ran as fast as she could, but as she was quietly navigating her way in the alleyway, she stopped just as she was about to leave when she spotted a monster eating a corpse, she felt her stomach drop when she saw this as she immediately covered her mouth, and stayed on the corner to hide.

But just then, another Monster appeared, and she felt her spine shiver when she saw it because it was a Goblin. Goblins are most known for their incredible nose for smelling their targets, and the worst-case scenario happened. As she was staring at them, the Goblin suddenly turned towards her with a wicked grin on its face, and as soon as she saw this, she got up and ran faster than before. But no matter how fast she tried to run, it was useless because she was already exhausted, to begin with as she fell.

"Stay away from us!" Alvitr said as she held Elisa in her arms as she threw a rock towards the Goblin hitting its head, but when it did, it got even angrier. It started thrashing its dagger everywhere making Alvitr shiver in fear after seeing how angry it got.

"I'm sorry Elisa… Mommy couldn't protect you… I'm so useless." Alvitr said as she held Elisa's body tighter in her arms as she cried because at this moment she knew that her fate was already sealed, she then closed her eyes to accept her fate.

"Stay away from my Mommy…" Suddenly Alvitr heard Elisa talking weakly and when she opened her eyes, she saw something shocking. Under her shocked eyes, she saw the Goblin that was walking towards them instantly get frozen and when she realized who was the cause of this, she looked at Elisa with widened eyes.

"I will protect you, Mommy…" Elisa said as she raised her small arms and shot out dozens of Ice Spears that killed every Monster that was near them. Alvitr who saw this couldn't help but blink in surprise as she didn't expect that her daughter would be able to use Magic and from what she could see she was very good at it.

That wasn't the end of it though, she felt all the strength in her body coming back when she felt Elisa cup her cheeks as if she was enchanted with Magic, and seeing this, she got teary-eyed because her daughter was clearly trying to survive but she just stayed there and accepted death. Seeing that her daughter didn't give up, she felt ashamed of herself as she then stood up feeling more refreshed than ever.

"Thank you and I'm sorry, Elisa. Your Mother is weak, but I promise you that for your sake, I will try my best." Alvitr said in a determined voice as she placed the unconscious Elisa on her back again and wrapped her in a cloth so that she could stay there.

But before she could say anything, more Monsters started coming towards them, and now with new profound strength, she ran again toward the Gate where she would finally be safe with her daughter as she could already see the guards that were there. But just as she was just a few meters away from the Gate, a carriage suddenly stopped right in front of her.

Dozens of people came out with armor and weapons on them and when she saw the crest that they had, her eyes widened, but before she could run the opposite way, she was stopped by a woman who suddenly hugged her.

"My daughter… don't worry, you are safe now." The woman said as she hugged Alvitr tightly in her arms and then looked at the Monsters that were coming closer to them, she then let go of Alvitr before unsheathing her sword and killing all of the Monsters singlehandedly.

"Mother…" Alvitr muttered as then she finally collapsed, but before her body could hit the ground, her body was caught alongside Elisa by the unknown woman who showed up.
