S2 Chapter 3:

No one spoke as she stared back at him, she hadn't been aware of this human she had gotten so used to. She had always thought humans were noisy smelly people, who argued over absolutely nothing, and yet somehow they weren't completely different. They had emotions like her kind did and they had ambitions for their futures just like she did. But even if they were animals or spirits, she had almost forgotten her culture, that what she had with this human, was much more than what she had bargained for. He took her through a whole experience in a place completely rid of her kind.

She could smell his cologne mixed in with burning smells, but she couldn't seem to look away from those grey eyes which always seemed to look into her soul. His perfectly shaped face looked completely breathtaking to her, he had the softest hair that curled around the edges. She could feel the heat from before dying down and settling back in her. She didn't even know she could do that, she had never been able to suppress that heat, never.

He didn't say anything as he crept closer to her and held her face in his hand. She was resisting it before but, what had changed? She tried to think of the anger that flared the very last time it had happened, but all she could do was wait and see what he would do. His lips touched hers softly before she could even process anything. He descended on her again, tasting little by little then pulling back. Only when she shut her eyes, did he linger on her lips, longer than before?

It wasn't like last time, only because last time she had felt attacked, but not this time she wanted it. She lifted her hand t run it through his hair, holding onto him now, and he only pushed her further. She opened her mouth to him making her dizzy and vulnerable, a feeling she wasn't well associated with. He pulled away for an instant just to trail soft and sensual kisses down her throat, all the while keeping his hands away from her.

She lifted his face to kiss him again, but now it him against her, on who was taking over. She held onto his shirt and pulled him down to her, but she felt his resistance and quit trying. He sat up with his eyes still closed and ran a hand across his face and sighed.

"I'm so sorry, Nikita," he said with a slight groan at the end of his sentence. She put her hand on his shoulder, but he shrugged it off and stood up. His actions confused her and she stood up after him and stepped in front of him.

"Why are you being so cold, what's wrong?" She asked but he only looked at her and sighed gain.

"This...this wasn't supposed to happen, I made sure it wouldn't." She stepped back at the ferocity in his voice, what in god's name was he talking about?

"What happened back there, was mutual this time, I had no objection to it." He scoffed and turned away from her, facing the huge windows now.

"Do you know what that kind of action means for a human? The intensity of emotion humans put into it...of course, you don't forget it."

"Then tell it to me, what does it mean to you, did I make a mistake that needs to be corrected?" She asked, but he stayed silent for a while.

"No, no you didn't rather it's my mistake, I can't burden you, Nikita...I can't."

"What do you mean burden?! If you have something to say, tell me!" She shouted but he only looked angrier.

"I don't want to burden you with the fact that I care about you way too much...I'm in love with you!" The shock of the words almost shook the room and he turned away to leave. She stayed in the room, confused and angry. 'I'm in love with you. His voice echoed in her head and she tried to analyze it slowly. What the hell did that even mean? She rushed out of the room and hurried downstairs, to find the place empty. He had left.

She looked at the phone on the table and stared at the message there with a heavy heart.

'I may be out for a while, don't expect me back early. I need time to think and so do you

my feelings need to be clarified in some way, but for me, I don't understand them fully yet.

You're free to leave if this makes you uncomfortable, I'm sorry.

Kingsley.'
