New Elder of Iwagakure

Ken's Chakra surged as he began adapting to his new abilities. Immersed in his practice, Onoki summoned him.

"You don't know what the Tsuchikage is thinking about him," someone remarked as Ken entered the office.

He saw the elders and clan heads, and of course, the Tsuchikage himself.

"Hey, Onaki-sama," Ken greeted as he walked in.

Onoki then started giving orders. A new elder was appointed in the village. Many were surprised due to the sudden proposal and started discussing. Onoki was displeased, but Ken's teacher, who is also a member of the noble clan, asked everyone to vote for it. Given the relationship, Ken wasn't entirely surprised.

In the office, all the civilian heads were present. "Wow, higher power also favored Kid," someone whispered. Ken was selected as the elder of the village. But somewhere, decisions were made, perhaps due to the proposal. Even then, they just thought that they were giving it because of the relationship between the higher ups and the Tsuchikage.

After the meeting, everyone left the office, leaving only Ken who remained, wondering which department he should lead. He stared blankly.

Kent suddenly thought about what he should ask. "Um, what department do you think I should lead?"

Having thought about it, Ken realized he didn't know much about the village's political system.

Onoki started explaining the political system, mentioning that each elder had to head a department or be in charge of one to help manage the village. Afterward, Onoki gave Ken three options from different departments.

Ken asked, "Could you tell me about the remaining departments that have an offer?"

Onakey nodded and began listing, "We have the torture department, the interrogation department, and the R&D department."

Ken's interest was piqued, particularly by the R&D department. He pondered for a moment before deciding, "I think I'll take charge of the R&D department. I believe I can contribute effectively there."

Onoki's surprise was evident on his face as he remarked, "I'm surprised by your choice, Ken. I thought you might opt for the education department."

Ken smiled and explained, "Well, I wanted to challenge myself and enhance my creativity. Joining the R&D department seems like a great way to do that. Plus, there's something about combining different fields that intrigues me. As for the education department, it's important, but I believe it'll be more effective with fresh perspectives."

After that conversation, Ken visited R&D departments, gaining a better understanding of what each department entailed through conversations with the teams and observing their operations.

Onoki approached him afterward, saying, "Ken, you're welcome to have a private office to work from, if you'd like."

Ken nodded appreciatively, "Thank you, Tsuchikage-sama. That would be great. I look forward to contributing to the village from the R&D department."

"The education department has an open offer," Onaki mentioned. "What are your thoughts?"

Upon hearing Onaki's proposal, Ken felt caught off guard, a bit uncertain about the situation. However, he was determined to maintain a favorable position with the head of the village. So Ken, on the other hand, seemed to accept the offer readily. But Ken also expressed his concern, mentioning that he couldn't manage two departments simultaneously. "You know," he said, "I can't head both departments at once. How about this? I could be the Deputy Head of the Education Department for now."
