Chapter 47

Since Adair had so much time left before her next class, she decided to spend the rest of her free time before her next class studying the language flashcards. Well, not quite studying, she still had to organize them into different piles, which was becoming increasingly more difficult since she had already taken out the language cards that she knew.

She was also wondering what significance the language that was taught to her meant to people outside the planet she came from because there had to be a reason why this was one of the languages that were being taught for her.

Eventually, she had used up all of the time she had available to her before her next class, and she had to go to her next class. Luckily for her, it did not take much exploring to do since it was the same room as her previous magic class, which she learned was called Incantation Class.

And once again, this room was completely different than the natural state of the room before because it looked like a laboratory of scientists back in the galactic empire. This was a bit unexpected since all of the stories she knew about Alchemy back in the Galactic Empire was that they used big black cauldrons and made potions. Or that they were complete nutjobs that thought they could turn silver to gold back when Galactic citizens only lived on Earth.

But to her, it appeared that Alchemy in this world meant science class. She wondered if she would be learning chemistry or biology or something completely different. And she figured that she would soon find out since an average height man with long glossy black hair and a scruffy beard walked through the portal.

This made Adair question why this room was pre-setup before the teacher came into the room while her previous teacher had to set up the room himself. She assumed that she would have to ask that teacher why tomorrow if she wanted to find out, so she set that matter aside for tomorrow.

The man then took a look around the classroom and spotted Adair, and said, "you can go take a seat. We will start in just a moment once a few of the other students show up." This shocked Adair since she did not expect to have a class with any other students and just thought that everything would just be a one on one.

This made her a bit worried, though, since if this class did not the same type of class as the class that she expected it to be, then with her nonexistent reading ability and no magical training, she could be in a bit of trouble, especially since she assumed that only the best of the best were being taught here.

She did not have much time to contemplate this, though, because a green portal appeared in the wall, and a set of elvish-looking twins appeared out of it. And when they entered, the teacher greeted them by saying, "Welcome princesses, please find a seat."

When Adair heard this greeting, she was slightly worried that there were some customs that she should be following to greet these princesses as well, and it appeared that maybe that she was correct because the two elven girls were looking at her funnily, but after a bit of staring they found their seats.

Adair didn't say anything to them, though, because she didn't want to embarrass herself. After they sat down, the two girls started chatting to each other, but for some reason, while Adair could clearly hear what they were saying (unlike when privacy blocked is in place), she did not understand a word they were saying.

While this was happening, Adair had done a quick scan of the two girls, and they appeared to be about her age, but she had no idea if that was actually the case or if they were significantly older and elvish bodies just ages slower.

The two girls were also wearing a fancy tunic which was embroidered with a white four-petal flower with a blue sapphire-looking gemstone in the middle. When Adair noticed this, she noticed that this was the symbol of one of the main five empires that controlled the center of this galaxy.

She did not have much time to calculate what this meant, though, since a black portal and gray portal opened sequentially, and a young boy excited each portal. A blonde boy exited the black portal and appeared to have been through his share of hard troubles since his young face was already scarred, and he acted as though he was a king.

As for the second boy who exited through the silver portal, he appeared to be the exact opposite of the boy who exited the black portal as he appeared shy and did not know how to act around the people around him.

The teacher greeted both of these students in a similar fashion as the two elven girls. As the two boys sat down, she looked at these two boys, and she recognized the symbols embroidered on their clothing as two more of the empires that controlled the central region of this galaxy. As soon as she realized this, she concluded that she was correct that this was one of the best schools in this galaxy. So much so that it was maybe even a bit more privileged and powerful than she expected.

She also concluded that at this rate, there would be two more portals since she expected that only the top five empires would be able to attend here. She was proven wrong, though, since four more portals opened, and while she was correct that two of these people were from the two major empires, there were two empire symbols that she did not recognize.

She concluded that these students were family of heavy allies of one of the five major empires or that they were kids of two upcoming empires, which would mean that there was a chance of seven major empires instead of the five.

These students appeared to be the last people in attendance, though after the teacher greeted each student, he started the class. He introduced himself as Virtuoso Harry Willard from the Eqeoral Empire, and while the other students seemed to already know who this teacher was, Adair made sure to note this name in the back of her head to ask the history teacher tomorrow. He asked everyone to introduce themselves, where they were from, and their element is.

He then asked Adair to start since she had arrived to class first. This made Adair slightly regret arriving first, but she knew that she had to keep up appearances because if she could become friends with any of these children, then she was pretty sure that she would have an amazing ally for the rest of her life.

So she introduced herself as Adair Fox; she came from the Ottoman Empire, and that did not have an element. When she said this, the other children in the room looked at each other as if she had just spoken a language that no one else understood.

So she looked at Mr. Willard for clarification, and when she looked at him, he responded that she should use the common language to communicate with everyone in this class and not their home country's language.

This greatly perplexed Adair because she did not know "the common language," and she had been using the system's built-in place in the house to communicate with everyone else, which she had just learned a few hours ago was even possible.

So when she described this situation to the teacher, who luckily for Adair could understand her. He looked perplexed for a moment before saying that maybe Adair could allow the other students access to the internal network of her floor of Anahel's school.

To this, Adair responded, "why can't you do it?" And in a bit of an exasperated tone, the teacher said, "because this is your floor, not anyone else's, and for your safety and security, usually only teachers and you are able to access the network."

While the teacher was still being patient with her, Adair could tell that she was starting to get on his nerves, and she also realized by talking to him that she probably couldn't help her allow these other students access to her network.

The way the teacher described it was that there were many dangers of allowing other people access to her network, which she made a note of.

So in the most cliché way possible, she called out into the air, "Mrs. System, could you please allow all the students in this room access to the voice translation function?" And at first, she didn't get any response which made her think that what she had done had not done anything, but as soon as she was preparing to call out again, she got a response saying, "My name is Cassandra, not "Mrs. System" and are you sure you want to give these people access to the voice translator?"

The way Cassandra said this made Adair worried that there could be future problems if she did this, so she asked, "will there be any security concerns if I allow them to join? And cant I kick them off the network anytime I want?

And to this, Cassandra responded with that no, there should not be any security concerns and that yes, you can have them removed every time they leave this room if you wish and rejoin after every time they re-enter this room.

And to this, Adair thought that this was the best option for at least the time being, and since there were no security concerns, she saw no problem allowing access to everyone else in this room, so that's what she did.
