Not an Ordinary Visit

"Does it matter?"

The words slithered into my mind, I felt the world tilt for just a moment. Tone of her voice, it apear like a genuine question, as if she will give me the truthful anwser if i said yes. "What in the world, is she getting at," I thought. The shadows in the carriage seemed to deepen, the walls narrowing in, suffocating me as her presence filled every inch of the space. The temperature dropped further, and my breath came out in shallow clouds, the condensation hanging in the cold air.

I tried to speak, tried to force words past the lump in my throat, but all I could do was stare as the edges of my vision seemed to blur, the world warping around her as though she was pulling reality apart just by sitting there. The pistol felt suddenly useless, an absurd comfort in the face of something far more dangerous, far more terrifying than I had ever encountered.
