Chapter 7: Status Window

After mealtime, Hazuki disappeared to the bathroom. This happens all the time in the last few days, so I'm not surprised anymore.

She blushed a little as she walked out, 'I guess I overdid it a little, but thanks to that, I'm now finally alone.'

Hazuki needs some time to come back and luckily Izumi is out of the house right now. Therefore, I finally have the opportunity to do what I want without any observations.

'Status Window'

I lay down on the bed and looked at this transparent field that opened at my mental command

'Kuuuh, isn't that exciting!!!', I started to kick with my little feet.

I have my very own status. I never thought I would have my own system, like the protagonists in novels and anime. When I discovered the existence of the status window at mealtime, I almost drowned in milk and drove Hazuki to tears again because I was so surprised and happy to have such a perk.

As my asian mother from my old life used to say, 'Stupid son, you shouldn't look at the damn screen while you're eating', how right she was. It really wouldn't have been funny to die drowning in milk.

I shuddered at the thought of my embarrassing death being mocked by a certain blue-haired goddess.

Anyway, back to the status window. I put my finger under my chin and began to analyse the status.

'Let's see, there's my name, age is zero, okay?..maybe the status window is lazy, I get it... Oh, there's also an epiphet section', I muttered as I read the status, my eyes brightening.

I don't know what the qualifications are to get a new epiphet, but it will be nice to have cool titles like Minato's title 'Konoha's Yellow Flash'.

I can already see myself being a hero on the battlefield and getting a new nickname based on my achievements. 'Maybe something like Firestorm of Darkness or the Ultra Ultimate Ninja Warrior.'

"Gehehe", as I tried to imagine my glorious status window filled with epic epiphets, a creepy laugh unbecoming of a baby came out.

But what is truly amazing is the confirmation of the existence of the supernatural power of this world.

'Chakra'

I closed my eyes and breathed in and out several times, trying not to scream in anticipation. Because I would have a problem if Hazuki came because of my scream.

Of course, I knew that the chakra existed, otherwise it wouldn't be the world of Naruto, but when you don't have it in front of you, it doesn't feel right!

'According to the status window, it is clear that I am not from a ninja clan, but probably from a civilian family like Sakura Haruno. With one of the 4 noble clans and the other clans, it is possible that your chakra capacity would be higher. It's a shame that I don't have more chakra, but there's nothing I can do about it', I thought as my eyes quickly moved to the next chakra-related stat.

'Chakra Control'

Chakra capacity and chakra control are two of the most important skills for a Ninja, and they are constantly trained throughout their lives.

'At the moment, chakra control is just as poor as chakra capacity, at 1%, but that is understandable! There, I am at least on an equal footing with the other privileged children. Here we are on the same starting line', I said to myself to cheer myself up. The low chakra capacity brought me down a bit.

The next thing was the physical stats.

These were Strength, Stamina, Agility, Endurance and Dexterity, which were more or less self-explanatory.

'All of them are probably on the lowest level, well, I'm not surprised... Hmm? Oh, endurance is 2 points higher. Probably because endurance doesn't only have to do with the body, but also with the mind', I was happy that at least one of my stats was higher thanks to my past life.

'But I will have to experience in my own body how these stats will affect my life. Although I can't even stand on my own two feet right now with my baby body, so I guess I'll have to be patient', since I have to wait for the natural course of events here, I can only let this go for now.

In the next section, there is little to do at first glance. The available jutsus and chakra affinities are there, but they are all blocked, possibly also because I am too small to be able to perform the activities and maybe because my chakra capacity is too low to be able to use ninjutsu.

'I just noticed the negative thing about the status window, when you have garbage stats but no system at least you don't have to face them and can run away from them, but with a status window you face cold reality,' I thought as my shoulders slumped and I became slightly depressed.

'Of course, I am fully aware that this is just rubbish because I am still newborn... OK, I let myself go a little. A status window is there to grow, so I am not afraid that I will have garbage stats forever!', I determinedly pushed my status back up.

All in all, it shows my personal data, but the great thing about the status window is that it shows my ability with a ranking. So I can see exactly where I stand and where I can improve.

I tried to see if I had multiple cheats... but that was it. Apart from the status window, it doesn't really have anything else, so no other cheats.

'Haa too bad'

Greedy as humans are, I was hoping for a multi-universe store, a levelling function or a talking female system, but it doesn't look like it.

While we're at it, I would have liked to have been born in a world other than Naruto, like One Piece or High School DXD. Actually, those worlds aren't any better, but they have more awesome women. But the fact that I can have these thoughts and complain like that shows that I'm already used to living in this world.

'Don't forget, there are other hotties here too, although I haven't met them yet, but I'm sure I'll meet them one day', I said hopefully, looking into the distance.

'Although I don't know if I'll live long enough to enjoy the future flowers of the ninja world'.

'Hmm?', as I scrolled left, right, up and down to look for other things in the system, I realised that I had forgotten to look at something in the status window.

'Umm, what's that? General Rank: Civilian - Non-Shinobi Man... it's probably an overall rating that takes all my factors into account. But it doesn't tell me how strong I am. All I know is that the General Rank is probably worse than my Chakra Capacity Rank... Ah! Luckily there's also a description, let's see what it says'' I scrolled up full of expectation, and what I saw stunned me.

My eyes were wide open, as if they were going to pop out of my head.

I read it word by word to make sure I was wrong... but no matter how many times I read it, my eyes confirmed that this was no joke.

'General Rank Description: Your weakness disgusts me', it said.

I'm flagstabbed, 'I-Is this system dissing me, and he dares to use Madara's word against me?! HOW DARE HE!' My shock quickly faded, and what replaced it was pure rage.

'How dare this damned system write something like that, how dare it mock me like that', angry at this system, I tried to tear it apart with my fingers, only to find that it was transparent and I couldn't touch it. More and more hatred filled me until I couldn't hold it in anymore and it poured out of me.

"AAAAAAGGGGHH!!!!" I screamed out my irritation.

"Haruto what's going on?", the door swung open and Hazuki came out wrapped in a bath towel.

She probably rushed here due to my scream, because I saw her body was still damp from the shower.

Normally I would have concentrated on her figure and forgotten all my worries, but today I can't!

I shifted my eyes to the system window and promised myself, 'Well, if you think you can mock me like that, just wait. I'll make you take those words back'. My competitive spirit ignited and I lifted my stinky finger to the status window, hoping it would react somehow, but of course it did not.

At least not from her...

"Haruto, where did you learn such a thing, don't use that finger", Hazuki saw and started to scold me.

"WOOOO, WA WA WA" (Translation: NOOOO, it's a promise to myself, I won't take my finger down), I shouted, hoping that she understood my words.

Unfortunately not, I continued to refuse and Hazuki vehemently tried to stop me from showing my stinky finger in the air all afternoon.

I had originally planned to release a chapter yesterday, but unfortunately I wasn't quite finished with the system, so I couldn't release it until today. I am still not completely happy with it, but I will let it go for now.

For the ranking system, I will soon make an information chapter where everything is recorded and constantly updated. I will also maybe make a chapter like most authors do at the beginning, explaining why I started a novel and what to expect in the story. What do you think about that?

I also have some pictures of Izumi and Hazuki. I will upload the pictures of Izumi in the next chapter. Since Hazuki did not appear in the anime, I chose several pictures. One is the adult version of Izumi and also other pictures that resemble her or give her a little independence. I don't want her to look exactly like Izumi.
