MAYA

When Nathan left, I felt a sense of loss and I don't know why, maybe because am sincerely hoping I would be his mate, what a good feeling it will be if Nate was to be my mate.

We are best friends now so him being my mate is the happiest thing I could ever wish for. I wanted to call him back to let him know I will really be waiting for him, I wanted to tell him I wish the moon goddess will make me his mate. But I was unable to say anything, I just watched him leave to the pack's forest where everyone was gathered, I couldn't go any further so no one would notice my anxiety. I just watched as Nathan shifted into the most handsome wolf I've ever seen. He is a large and big brown wolf with with black furs, his eyes are a light brown different from his original dark green eyes.

He ran with a very fast speed that made everyone surprised at how fast his wolf was. I waited patiently for him just as he told me to.

NATHAN

Ever since I Became friends with Maya, have noticed she's a very talented and brave girl that I admire her in so many way. I don't know why but I feel like I should always be around Maya, I feel she's my responsibility and on that note am beginning to think she might be my mate.

I had to invite her to my coming of age ceremony because I was quite sure Maya was my mate. She's someone that's very likable when you get to know the real her even though she's hiding herself in those baggy clothes she puts on to school everyday but any normal werewolf would see she's a beauty to behold.

The day of my coming of age ceremony, I had to go pick her up myself because Maya is not someone you see in a gathering, she's never been to any coming of age ceremony before and I know she might feel out of place or even get bullied if i am not there by her side, so i took the initiative to go get her myself and also make sure she's not wearing any of those baggy looking clothes to my party. I want to present my mate to the whole pack looking extremely gorgeous. I thought smiling to myself.

When I got to her place, her parents directed me to her room which was very strange because ever since I've been visiting her, i have never for once been to her room.

But before I went, they made me promise to convince their daughter into putting on something girly and so I promised them because that was also one of my reasons for coming.

On getting to her room I knocked but she told me to hold on, I smiled.....she must be out of her clothes. I thought, I just realized my thoughts went wild I immediately hit myself on the head in a way to bring myself to reality.

She's not even my mate yet but here I am thinking about something I shouldn't.

I waited for about 5 minutes before she called me in. Her room looked very spacious and had the scent of vanilla mixed with the scent of old and new books that laid neatly on their shelves.

When she told me she was confused on what to wear I felt so happy.

"Aha!", this was an opportunity I wasn't prepared to miss.

i delightedly choose what I really wanted to see her wear. She's got so many fine dresses but she never for once wore any of them to school.

A blue flowery long dress caught my eye.

This will look perfect on Maya, a blue dress matching the colour of her blue eyes, I thought as i smiled feeling satisfied.

"Am not wearing that!" she stated. I know she would refuse but trust me I'm very much prepared for this.

"why?,

please put on the dress for my sake today Maya, its my party and as my best friend I want you to grant me my wish. you would won't you?.. I said with puppy eyes. please...

I think my pleas worked as she agreed to put on the dress but Maya is no fool , she quickly realized what my plans were as she said she knew I planned it, but of course I blatantly denied it.

I waited downstairs for her just as her parents were waiting to see what their daughter will be putting on, I initially promised them she would be looking different today and they were surprised because Even her Mom could not make her wear a dress so they were anxious to see the magic I used on their daughter.. I kept smiling sheepishly while waiting.

An hour and she's still not out yet, now was beginning to get nervous. What if she changed her mind and decided not to wear the dress?. Just as I was panicking, I saw an apparition of what can be best described as the moon goddess, her curves and body structure so perfect even with an average height.

This girl in front of me looks nothing like Maya at all, glowed like the moon goddess in all her glory. I was so lost in my trance that I hardly noticed she was in front of me.

I guess I wasn't the only person who was dumbstruck.This is way more than the Maya I imagined, she's indeed more beautiful than I thought.

We finally left to my place where the ceremony was to take place. Now am so very sure Maya is my mate and I felt so proud walking into the house with her arms on mine. Though the pack members still looked at her with hate but I know its as a result of them being jealous specially the pack's she wolves who do nothing but throw their selves at me whenever they see me.

I don't want to let Maya know yet that I suspect we might be mate, I just wanted it to happen naturally then I will tell her what have been thinking. I left her when I saw her parents had arrived. Before I left I told Maya to wait for me for am sure I will find her the moment my wolf awakens.

I went straight to the entrance leading to the pack's forest, after about 5 minutes, I began to feel hot, my bones began cracking up which made me feel excruciating pains as my bones snapped one after the other.

I screamed....and suddenly am in all fours with furs, my sense of hearing heightened, i could smell everyone including the fresh leaves in the forest.

Then I suddenly heard a loud voice in my head.

"Hello Nathan, am Jack your wolf".

" Hello Wolfie, its nice to finally meet you?.

"Am dying to go for a run Nathan, can we?

" Sure thing" I said smiling....

After running for what seemed to be an hour, I came back and the only thought on my mind was to find Maya. I quickly shifted back to my human form, i put on a black loosed joggers and a white t shirt.

Just as I was about heading towards Maya's direction, the smell of lavender suddenly hit my nostrils, my wolf jumped in my head and the word I have been expecting "MATE!
