With sweat rolling down his forehead Zephyr took a seat to catch his breath, exhausted from the journey and then digging.
Jaw clenched at the tiresome sight and then saw the old man who was staring into nothingness.
"Poor man…"
Disheartened and failing to watch him in his state, he grabbed the bowl of soup and some bread, offering it to Khaleed.
"Here, eat something,"
"No matter what, I am a father in the end, Zephyr, and it breaks my heart to find them like this," He whispered, a tear glistening in his corner.
"I bought them with extreme love and adoration,"
His voice broke, shutting his eyes while gripping his staff with all his support.
This one incident weakened his soul, it made him weak, agony took its toll on him.
"What about David? Melanie?" He sighed.
Placing the bowl beside him, taking a seat as well and curled his lips upward faintly.
"And besides, aren't we your kids too?"
