Part 12: "manman(mom)"

after Kion told Caleb about what happened with Emma Caleb was feeling down the whole day so Kion went back to his room to give him some space its been a whole day and Caleb still hasn't talked to Kion he still feels guilty for what happened he still thinks its all his fault.

FRIDAY MORNING:

Marry: "where is he why isn't he picking up to my calls he always does."

Paul: "maybe something happened, you know with Kion or something."

Marry: "today of all days no he wouldn't do it he knows better."

MEANWHILE:

Caleb was on his bed sleep he had put his phone silence.

Caleb: "what time is it?"he asked himself while yawning, then he picked up his phone and saw the many missed calls from his sister.

Caleb: "oh shit its friday." he got up and ran to the bathroom took a quick shower fixed himself up and ran out of his dorm while calling his sister.

Caleb otp: "where are you?"

Marry otp: "in front of you building hurry up its 9:36 they are almost here."

Caleb otp: "ok I'm almost there." he hung up the phone and ran downstairs and soon he got where his siblings where waiting for him.

Marry: "where the hell were you?" she said smacking the back of his head and grabbing his ear and twisting it.

Caleb: "ow ow ow I'm sorry MOM."

Marry: "don't mom me, you know they are coming today and decide to sleep in. really Caleb?"

Caleb: "I'm sorry ok I just had things on my mind."

Kion: "things? what things?"

Caleb: "they're here I'll tell you later."

Marry looked the opposite direction and saw her parents coming towards them.

Marry: "mommy, daddy." she said in excitement to see her parents since she hasn't seen them in over a month, she ran to them and hugged them tightly.

Mom: "how's my sweet girl?" she said in her usual haitian accent.

Marry: "better now that you're here."

Mom: "aww. and you two are you guys to cool now to yell mommy and daddy when you see us, why are you guys standing there like idiots? come and hug us." she said them mumbled enough for them to hear "ban ti egare" they then went over to hug their mom and dad.

Caleb: "manman we could hear what you said."

Paul: "why do you guys love her more than us?"

Mom: "she's smart you two are stupid."

Paul: "dad she just called us stupid."

Dad: "and what do you want me to do about it, tell her stop?"

Caleb and Paul: "yes exactly."

Dad: "enben nou sòt vre? (so you're actually stupid?)"

Caleb: "dad now is that the way you should talk to your kids?"

Dad: "you kids de what, I talk to my kids however I want." he said in a thick Haitian accent and sucked his teeth "epa ti eklere nou vin eklere mezanmi. (look how smart you guys became Jesus. sorry that was the best definition I could come up with.")

Mom: "ah kite ti moun yo an repo non. (leave the kids alone.)" with that their dad stopped.

Marry: "so what are we doing today?"

Mom: "we are going to eat then hang out the rest of the day and catch up a little with you guys."

Paul: "ok then let's go I'll drive."

Dad: "no I'll drive. cause if you think I'm gonna get in a car with you driving you're out of your mind."

Paul: "okay." he said giving up on even trying to say trust me. with that they went and their dad got in the drivers seat and started driving."

Mom: "August get out of the drivers seat and let Paul drive you're driving like a 90 year old man." their dad looked back at his kids to confirm if it was true they all slowly nodded. then he went on the side of the road and they switched seats now Paul was driving their dad was in the passengers seat and their mom was in the back seats with Caleb and Marry. soon they arrived at a Haitian restaurant.

Waiter: "kisa nou vle jodia? (what would you like today?"

Marry: "mwen vle bannann peze, griot avek pikliz.( I want bannann peze, griot, with pikliz)"

Mom: "deux plate diri cole avek sauce. (two plates of rice and beans and sauce.

Paul: "Pou nou sa l te pran an.( for us what she had.)" he said pointing to his sister. then all their foods came they were all eating and sharing with each other just like they do when they are home."

Mom: "so why didn't you go to school this week?" she said looking straight at Caleb." Marry and Paul looked at each other and right before Caleb was about to speak they both said."

Marry: "he hurt his ankle."

Paul: "he hurt his elbow."

Paul and Marry: during basketball practice?" they said unsure of what to say.

Mom: "that explains not going to basketball practice but not going to his normal classes."

Marry: "the school told him to just not come to classes cause he's the best player and they need him fully recovered."

Dad: "ok so how are you feeling now?"

Mom: "why did you guys keep talking for him?"

Marry: "we don't want him to be in trouble."

Caleb: "I'm fine now dad thanks for asking."

then Caleb got a call on his phone it said Kion with the kissy face emoji and a heart emoji.

his mom picked up the phone and said

Mom: "what is this? this is a boys name."

Caleb: "mom he's just a friend that helped me while I was at home."

Mom: "oh ok well I'll pick up and thank him for taking care of my baby for me."

Caleb: "NO!!"

Mom: "no? what do you mean no? are you hiding something?"

Caleb: "I mean if he hears you voice he might hang up so I should pick up and tell him you wanna talk to him."

Mom: "its fine I can do that don't worry.'' with that she answered the phone

OTP:

Kion: "how long are you gonna ignore me?"

Mom: "excuse me?"

Kion: "oh I'm sorry ma'am I think I got the wrong number."

Mom: "you're calling Caleb correct?"

Kion: "yes but who are you?"

Mom: "Hi I'm Caleb's mom and I wanted to thank you for taking care of him when he was injured."

Kion: "injured when was he injured?"

Mom: "the beginning of the week the reason that he had to stay home?"

Kion: "oh you're welcome it was my pleasure I took care of him really good for you."

Mom: "excuse me what do you mean by that?"
