Danger in Sight - Part. III

"Why don't you go to hell?"

"Thanks for inviting me to your home, but no."

I pointed Nacht to his ridiculous beautiful face and a savage smile had appeared on his lips.

"I can see that I cannot read your thoughts, I like it. But do you know why I cannot read them?"

I tightened my grip on the katana handle and his eyes went to my hands.

"You worked hard, didn't you, little witch? You don't have a lady's hands but they're still beautiful."

"So the rumors said that the faes couldn't lie, I almost believed, now I think it was all bullshit."

"Well, yeah, we can lie. But I didn't lie, cuz I do think you have beautiful hands."

He spoke with an irritating sincerity.

"So.. why don't you answer my question, little witch?"

"What question?"

I spoke through clenched teeth, still on the defensive.

"Okay, I had made a lot of questions. So, first of all, do you know why I cannot read your thoughts?"

I rolled my eyes.

"I don't know exactly, but it's something related to my parents. This is just one of the peculiarities that resulted in them having a daughter together."

He bit his lip and assumed a thoughtful expression, something that I hated.

"Interesting. So, you the daughter of a rare combination, hm.. this explains why your smell is so different from the other witches I met."

"I'm not interested in those things."

He smiled wickedly and looked into my eyes.

"Once I cannot read your mind, you cannot be controlled. That's very interesting indeed. I like peculiar things and you're very peculiar to me right now. I'm Kai, by the way."

Ridiculous.

"I don't care. And don't think I'll tell you my name, cuz this will never happen."

He shrugged still smiling and looking at me curiously.

"You're savage, aren't you? I won't kill just because you're a witch, you know that right?"

He spoke as if it were the most obvious thing in the world, looking at Nacht as if wondering why the hell I was still pointing at his face.

"You didn't live close to civilization fearing that, just because we're fae we would kill you because you're a witch, right? Cuz you heard somewhere that we, fae, hated witches?!"

"You're just trying to make me let my guard down, so you'll try to kill me when I'm not on the defensive. I won't fall into your trap, you bastard."
