The Extra Demigod Inside The Novel: Son of Hades

A boy lost everything he once had. As his family was killed before his eyes, something deep inside his soul died. His emotions turned numb and his eyes became lifeless. As he lost every connection with the world around him, relationships became a burden in his eyes. Life or death. It didn't matter to him. His door was open, for if ever death came, it could enter as it wished. And it did come to his door. Though not to exterminate him but to free him. Following his death, the boy reincarnated into a novel he had once read. A novel where Greek mythology and fantasy became real. A novel where the main character is the son of Zeus, the strongest demigod who was destined to save the world. The boy, on the other hand, was just an extra. But when he learned that he was the son of Hades, his fate was already sealed. What will he do in this new life, search for meaning, search for power, or search for peace? With his knowledge of this world from the novel, the boy embarks on a journey...

Traitors (1)

I had been wandering in the forest alone, trying to find which way the main cast had gone for a while now. But I wasn't able to find them.

'Fuck! I should have been more fast with leaving the battlefield.'

The reason I was so frustrated over not finding them was that I was afraid the plot would change as a result of my existence, as an extra child of the Big Three. The ambush against the main cast was mainly to eliminate the children of the Big Three before they could get strong. But since my existence had increased the perceived level of threat for the Titans, it practically meant they would send more demigods after us.

Though I wasn't sure if the number of traitors that would attack us would change, there was a high possibility it would. And I didn't want to leave it to luck at all. If something like this happens, this means even the lives of the main cast might be in danger. Which also meant that my future knowledge was also in danger.

Thus, I was trying to find the main cast in case they faced unexpected opponents. This way I could intervene to balance things out. However if the plot turned out to be unaffected by my presence, then I wasn't going to intervene and just let the plot play out itself.

"Aarghh!"

My head snapped in the direction where the scream of a man was heard. I quickly started heading towards the sound as fast as my legs allowed me to.

'I hope I am not late...'

The winds brushed my face and the branches grazed through my skin. Soon the sounds of battle were captured by my ears. I quickly climbed to a high tree to observe the situation from away.

*Phew..*

A sigh of relief escaped my mouth after realizing the description of the novel matched what my eyes were telling me. The plot hadn't changed.

I sat on the thick branch and leaned against the tree's body. It was a weird feeling watching things play out just like in the novel.

Amelia was nowhere to be found since she had left with the flag while these two held them back. At least that was the plan. However, what they didn't know was that the four demigods were actually trying to kill the two.

As I examined the battlefield, I saw Adriel had already gravely wounded one of the four demigods that had ambushed them, taking him out of the battle. His left arm was cut off and the blood was gushing out, which he failed to stop miserably.

'The scream that led me here was probably his scream.'

As I got close to the scene, I could hear Eleanor shouting at Adriel. Her voice showed how shocked she was.

"Adriel, why the fuck did you chop his arm off! Did you forget this is just a mock war?!"

"He was trying to kill me! Did you not see it just now?!"

"What?!"

"Yeah, look here!"

Adriel showed his neck which had a horizontal red line on it. It was as if something sharp had grazed across that line.

"His killing intent was real! I am sure he was trying to kill me!"

Dumbfounded, Eleanor glared at the demigods who had an arrogant smirk on their face.

"What the hell?"

"Heh... Seems like we are caught red-handed."

"Now we can't let you two leave this place alive. What a shame..."

How can you be this arrogant when one of you just had his arm obliterated? What a third-rate villain.

"I don't know what you guys are up to but even if you killed us here, you will be eventually convicted by the camp for this crime."

Adriel tried to get them to think about their absurd actions once again but his efforts were in vain as the three demigods laughed at him. The one who seemed like their leader stepped forward.

"You actually don't think we didn't think this through, do you? We have already set the crime scene before the flag war even started."

The leader lifted his arm and pointed towards the barrier that encircled the entire camp.

*Booom!*

An explosion of divine energy reverberated in the distance. As the dust settled, the view of a huge aperture on the barrier got into the view of everyone in the camp. Through the hole, packs of monsters began raiding the camp. Soon the roars of the monsters mixed uo with the screams and cries of demigods. Already exhausted demigods due to flag war weren't able to escape the onslaught of monsters.

"We are not going to kill you. You two will have been killed by the monsters that raided the camp along with many other demigods. If you know what I mean..."

"You... How can you do such a thing... to your own people... To those who opened their arms to you..."

Adriel gritted his teeth uncontrollably out of pure rage as he mumbled under his breath.

"Yeah? What was that?"

"I SAID HOW THE FUCK CAN YOU DO THIS TO YOUR OWN PEOPLE!!"

Adriel finally burst out. His anger drove him insane as his divine energy overdrived. What was a clear sky just a moment ago was now completely covered with dark clouds as rain droplets fell crashing down on their face.

"Hoo... How scary?∼"

Adriel exhaled a hot steam that flowed through the gaps between his gritted teeth. He slowly bent down as if readying himself to shoot himself to the demigod before him. His white hair had spiked up and a current of electricity ran across his body. He gripped his spear tightly.

However, the leader didn't stay still seeing Adriel was clearly preparing to attack them, which was pretty unusual for a third-rate villain.

"Hey! Muster up around me. He is going to pull off that lighting ability again!"

As the other two gathered around their leader, the fourth one was left out and was unable to move due to his serious injury. But the leader ignored the cry of his comrade. They pulled out a device, which on activation created a barrier above them to protect them from the lighting strike.

However, what they hadn't noticed was the smile of victory on Adriel's face. Just like everyone expected the lighting pulsated in the sky. However, instead of falling onto the enemy, it fell right onto the tip of Adriel's spear.

As soon as the lighting touched Adriel's spear, he darted off towards the opponent. He was so fast that my eyes weren't able to react and the next thing I saw was the spear penetrating through the leader's heart.

He spouted a mouthful of blood as his terrified eyes met with the blue eyes before him. Adriel pulled the spear out roughly and let the lifeless body fall to the ground. The other two and the injured one had a blank expression on their face, illustrating their disbelief at how the table had turned around in an instant.

Out of desperation, one of the demigods tried to strike at Adriel who was standing still. However, before he could do so, a huge hand made out of water caught him in its palm.

"Thanks for the rain, Adriel."

"You are welcome."

She began squeezing her hand, commanding the hand of water to do the same. As the one inside the palm of the hand of water screamed in agony, the crackling of the bones accompanied the scream until it ended abruptly.

The fate of the other traitors wasn't any different either.

'They sure are brutal as fuck.'

It was a little unbelievable how they could act so cruelly when they were living an average high school student life a few weeks ago. This proved they really were natural fighters as demigods.

I watched them separating as Adriel went to where Amelia went to ensure her safety and Eleanor went to the other side to help fend off the monster that had invaded the camp.

'Everything has gone just as it should have been. Just like in the novel...'

But my instinct was telling me otherwise. I felt like I was missing out on an essential detail. This uneasiness made me rethink the plot and the characters. Something clicked in my mind as I found out the source of my worries.

There was no way Cronus didn't know my existence by now. Therefore he must have certainly ordered his lackey to send some demigods to come after me as well. He can't ignore the existence of another child of the Big Three, especially when it was Hades, the overseer of the underworld where Tartarus was located.

'But how come there is no one after me? Now that I think about it, I had secretly left the battlefield... So, there is the possibility that they just couldn't find where I-'

"Who would have thought you were hiding here? I thought I would never find you."
