The Extra's Transcension

For as long as he could remember, life had always been cruel. A young man in his early twenties—his name now lost to the past—was dealt a life filled with misfortunes. A cold, empty apartment, a soul-crushing job, and, finally, a terminal diagnosis. With nothing left to live for, his only comfort had been escaping into the fictional world of Path of the Elemental Sage, a story of heroes, magic, and survival. But fate had other plans. When death finally came for him, he didn’t fade into nothingness. Instead, he awoke in the world he had only read about—a world of chaos and danger where death lurked around every corner. The air smelled of magic, the sky was filled with possibilities. {«[Status Window]»} [Name: Lyrium Blackwood] [Age: 16] [Rank: D-] [Skills: None] [Elements: None} At first, confusion filled his mind. Who was Lyrium Blackwood? Why was he here? And why did this body feel so different? But as his memories returned, so did the realization: this wasn’t some blessing or second chance. He wasn’t reincarnated as the protagonist. No destined savior. No cheat abilities. No grand fate. He was just another mob, a face in the crowd meant to exist and die without leaving a mark. But this young man—the one who had left his old name and life behind—wasn’t the kind of person to roll over and accept his fate. “This world is dangerous. The protagonist isn’t the only one fighting for survival here,” he muttered, his blue eyes cold and sharp. Unlike the naïve characters in the story, he knew the stakes. He’d read the web novel. He’d seen the carnage, the betrayals, the disasters that wiped out entire cities. And if there was one thing he refused to be, it was a pawn in someone else’s game. “I don’t care about glory. I don’t care about saving the world. All I care about is surviving—no matter what it takes.” Lyrium Blackwood wasn’t planning to live quietly or avoid danger. The only way to survive in this brutal world was to rise to the top. To be strong enough to stand above both heroes and villains. Using his knowledge of the story’s events and his iron will, Lyrium sets out on a relentless path to surpass the protagonist. Whether through clever manipulation, brutal training, or sheer desperation, he’ll climb higher and higher, leaving nothing to chance. But the deeper he gets, the more he realizes that this isn’t just the story he once read. As fate pushes him closer to the heart of the narrative, Lyrium begins to suspect that his reincarnation wasn’t an accident—and the world itself might be watching him. “I don’t care who or what stands in my way. If the story wants to kill me, I’ll rewrite the ending myself.” ---------------------------------- I apologize for any mistakes in this story, as it’s my first attempt at writing a novel. ---------------------------------- Chapter Update Schedule: (5/7) ---------------------------------- As the story has been vetted, readers can support me with Power Stones: PS – Power Stone 100 PS = 1 Extra Chapter 200 PS = 2 Extra Chapters 300 PS = 3 Extra Chapters ---------------------------------- Special thanks to @fallen_angel_26 for the amazing novel cover art, which I modified by changing only the hair color. :) ---------------------------------- Join the discord server to discuss about the novel with other readers and Author. Two Heavens Art (2)

* * *

Miyamoto Musashi, also known as Miyamoto Bennosuke and by his Buddhist name, Niten Dōraku,

was a Japanese swordsman, strategist, artist, and writer who became renowned through stories of his unique double-bladed swordsmanship and undefeated record in his 62 duels during the 15th century.

Musashi is considered a kensei (sword saint) of Japan. He was the founder of the Niten Ichi-ryū or in english "The Two Heavens Sword Art", style of swordsmanship.

Later, during the great war between the mana-beast and the sages, there appeared one human, who wasn't a sage but defeated a millions of mana beast in a blink of a seconds.

It was Yoemon Takemura, one of the son, an adopted son and one of the student of Miyamoto Musashi, also, the inheritor of the "Two Heavens Sword art".

Later in the year, he created two new sword arts, both of them being the replica of the original art with different attributes.

Yoemon created an art that can be used with odachi, a long sword.

In that art, there resides 12 techniques of the sword art.

And another one for short sword combined with the long sword, odachi.

Its replica was 98% match with the original due to its two weapon attack style.

But, it was even more deadlier than the original art and the other replica which is the Odachi art.

It was a deadly art because of its infusing with the both Mana and Qi (Chi) plus, with the advantage of having both long and short sword.

And,

Combining both Mana and Qi was simply not possible by the nature since, Mana is a mental energy meanwhile Qi is and internal energy among the living beings.

But, Yoemon somehow refined both the energy and combines it making the art even more deadlier than ever.

And ofcourse, later, the protagonist will get the original sword art, but for Lyrium....

"I don't want to mess up with the plot line, so, i'll not take the sword art since, it will later have to be owned by the main protagonist. But, who said i'll not be taking the replicas version" Lyrium smirked as he drink the lemon juice on his left hand while watching the sea.

There was a reason why Lyrium took the odachi(Long sword) fromthe weapon store in the Black Market.

From the very beginning, he already planned everything, he already wanted to take the replicas version of the Two heavon's Sword art since, the replica is more dangerous and refined than the original art.

"It sure is nice to be omniscient, and, who would've thought i'll get this private ultra high tech 4th dimensional space high quality engine Yacht!!"

Lyrium sure was shameless in his previous life or world and is sure is shameless in this world too..at this point, his personality comes to this

"once a shameless always a shameless..."

He placed the glass at the small floating tray on his left side as he gaze at the small dot of the view of the island.

"Jeju Island, huh..."

.

.

.

.

Upon arriving at the beach of the Jeju Island, Lyrium got off from the yacht and head towards the forest, actually towards a mountain that was on the middle of the Jeju Island.

"Instead of Jeju Island...it should've been called the Ghost Island.."

Jeju Island, in his previous life was just a normal island were people lives normally but, the Jeju Island of the novel was a field for Mana-beast.

There wasn't even a single animal or fly living here on the island let alone human.

And, The atmosphere was rather weird, cold, dark and scary.

"What's with the climate, does the author thinks Jeju Island is the city from the Dark Knight?"

Lyrium said as he stood in front of the Mountain and stared at the sky, the climate

The climate, the weather and the atmosphere, it was the exact copy of the weather of Gotham.

Lyrium took out a rope from his wirst band and throw the tip upwards to make it stuck on one of the rock in the mount. A Crisscross shape metal was placed on its tip.

If people saw him using the rope, they will probably make fun of him.

Why?,

Who the fuck uses this kind of old age rope in the era where they were living.

"Perfect...But..Why is this so high?!"

The mountain even reach the surface of the clouds and gray fog.

"Haa...Its not like i am going to die right? I already died once....this is nothing" Lyrium took a deep breath as he smile wryly.

The mountain was really high for real, Lyrium who was feeling something on his stomach place his hands on his belly button.

Ofcourse! it was nausea. Lyrium was scared of heights.

Lyrium started speaking to himself as he started climbing the mountain.

"Haha...The great extra character, Lyrium blackwood who knows everything what will happen in the future and will save the world was scared of heights...For real everyone will make fun of me"

His hands were shaking, his body was trembling as sweats started to form on his forehead, his stomach started to hurt due to nervousness.

After climbing for half of the hour, he was already high enough to camp, but,

'Don't look down, it will just grew the nervousness and my stomach will also hurt even more.!!'

Lyrium just look forward as he still climbs up the mountain without any fatigue on his body.

He was really scared at the moment, even mana can't save him if he fall from the height he was currently in.

"Haaaa....Haaa.....Haaaa.....F-Finally, i r-reach the p-eak...."

Lyrium trembling from fear as he Stuttered and can't even talk normally.

Is he really that scared of height?

Well, every one has a thing they scared of.....for Lyrium, it was the heights.

He took a deep breath to control his body as he calm down his body,

"Haaaa...Lets go then!"

.

.

.

.

Then, after roaming for some minutes, he reach a certain cave on the edge of the Mountain.

"Nope, doesn't look like a cave....more like a dungeon..?"

The cave was hallow and it even look like a tunnel than a cave inside of it.

"But, Please don't tell me there is also a 4th dimensional soace inside the cave...."

He really was sick of the Artifact.

The one he thought to be the most rare Artifact was lying everywhere like a common bulb.

He stood in front of the cave as he took out a torch from his wrist band and eventually head inside of the cave.

"But, please i don't want to encounter mana-beast right now....."

Even though he pray not to encounter any Mana-beast on his way, it wasn't possible. Mana beast were everywhere.

Every place where thick mana resides in the air, mana beast will also be there.

Its like, where there is light, there will also be darkness.

The cave wall all that was inside, it was empty. But, there were many pathways that were created inside of it.

More like a maze or something?

But to him, it was nothing. Since he knows every place, every pathways and all.

"It feel so good to be omniscient.....sure, this cave was later discover by the protagonist later in the development arc, i know everything..."

But that wasn't the case anymore, a single change can affect the whole plotline.

It means he have already likely change everything.

The Black market.... probably,

"But it still surprising that the author didn't add any obstacles for the protagonist in the development arc..."

Due to it, he even got cursed by his readers for making the character development easier.

'Whish!'

The air becomes thick all of a sudden as Lyrium stood in front of a person..

Most likely....a dead person, a dead person skeleton.

The skeleton sit on a stone throne as its both hands place in front of a wooden sword that was thrusting down on the ground.

"This is.... probably the place without any doubt, since, the dead skeleton body of 'That' person is here, the sword art should be on 'that' sword"

In the novel, there wasn't any beast, no traps also, there wasn't any obstacles on this place.

Lyrium trusting the information of the novel step towards the dead skeleton to take the sword.

A chills of sweat ran down on the back of his neck as he stood in front of the dead skeleton.

In the novel, the illustration were created in shounen, seinin style.

So the place didn't feel so scary.

Also,

how the author describe the cave wasn't as scary as how it was in Lyrium's eyes as he already saw the world of the novel by his own eyes.

Lyrium extended his hands as he tried to touch the sword by his hand.

'Whoosh!'

Upon making contact with the sword, he felt an aura, a deadly aura sorrounds the place.

It wasn't an aura of fear or anything, the feeling of the aura, it was...

Guilt!

But, why guilt? Just what exactly happened to Yoemon? Why and how did he die?

There wasn't any information about his backstory.

No extra chapters..., no side story.

The skeleton according to Lyrium was the descendants of Musashi Miyamoto, Takemura Yoemon.

The one who eliminate....No, the one who brutally killed thousands of Mana beast in a blink of a second brutally.

Lyrium stood there unfazed as the skeleton started to crumbled before it completely disintegrated and scattered on the ground.

Lyrium was left there with the wooden sword on his hand. Just then,

'Xiu!'

'Xiu!'

From each of the opposite direction, two black arrows came flying directly towards his chest.

But in that blink if a second, he instinctively dodge the Arrows barely with the sword on his hand.

"What the hell was that!!"

He fall down on his butt backward as he stared at the sides

"....Did something happen with the plotline?!"

When the protagonist encounter the two heavens sword art, there wasn't any trap.

But for Lyrium there, he almsot died.

It could only lead to one thing, the plotline has been completely change.

"Haaa..." Lyrium breath heavily as he saw countless figures emerging from the darkness and behind all of those was stood a shadow.

It was a figure of shadow with black cape hoodie, dark aura swung arounds him,

its face weren't clearly visible as the figure held a scythe on his hands.

It was the death itself.

It was.....

"The fuck is a Grim Reaper doing here in the world of living?!"
